What a beautiful human he is! I hope he can start instructing others on how to treat the elephants! I almost think they love to work... because they are such intelligent animals!
Unlike in Europe, I don't think the Ankus or "bullhook" is required by federal organizations, like our USDA. The USDA requires Elephant trainers to have an Ankus when handling elephants around public. and Not everyone uses the Bullhook in an abusive way either as the tool originated in India actually and was merely a Guide, like how we use leashes as a guide for dogs. There is many animal husbandry tools that give people potential to misuse them. I've been to circuses here in the US and handlers carry the "bullhook" but never misuse them - The abusing of the bullhook mostly happened in like the 50s through 70s and now people are trained professionally how to use the Ankus properly, which is communicating with the elephant through touch, not brutality. I know for a fact that in this decade if a handler is found harming an elephant with it, They are fired and blacklisted from getting employees by other circuses. but of course, organizations like PETA will not clear this up because as long as everybody thinks EVERY handler abuses elephants because they hold a Ankus - They get attention and donations. Always look into things and not believe everything thats shared on the internet.
Yes. I looked into it and the american vetrinary assocition sais the bull hooks are used as guides. Yes there are cases where they have been abused, but it seems very rare. Ive heard some contriversial things about peta including claims that they euthinize thousands of puppies and kittens
@@bloodytalonz1138 I have seen animals abused by bullhooks and other tools with my own eyes, I then promised myself to never pay to see animals in circus or any sketchy show ever again. I'd rather encourage the Grandby Zoo, which has enclosures that are astonishingly large and full or enrichment, for animals that were rescued from roadside zoos, circuses and other abusive situations or are in programs to educate as well as to reintroduce endangered species in their natural habitat. Seems more fair to the animals than teaching them tricks and using them as props - not to say that it's abusive in every case, but it's only my personal feeling regarding species we commonly see in circuses.
Those are happy, healthy, and very loved elephants. I appreciate this young man being so vocal on his loving unique relationship with these magnificent creatures. And the love that the elephants have for him also is very apparent, they're all so comfortable and affectionate with him. Not to mention flappy ears! A flappy eared elephant is a happy elephant! Life is more beautiful with elephants and people like this young man.
I seriously adore elephants, they’re so cute!! Seeing this video makes me so happy and you can easily see the elephants and the owner has for one and another. They’re in a good place and they’re not getting treated badly which sadly is the case for some countries.
He actually treats them really well, plus the tricks he does are super awesome, he must of done gymnastics before he became an elephant trainer, he makes sure that (Idk if he said in the video or not) the gate to their enclosure is closed so they don’t escape (elephants are truly escape artists)
So many of these situations if u look hard enough, you'll see that the animals are not enjoying any of the tricks and stuff that they are doing and are in fear deep down. Makes me feel sick
I'm absolutely against animals in circuses but he treats them so well, lets them live in a proper way and only takes them inside for the shows and that has my respect. You can see how much they love him and that they're healthy and happy and like family to him. Truly heartwarming. He is very protective and makes sure they have enough space everywhere they go. I bet when training they're like "Dunno why you want me to do this but I love you hooman so I'll play along".
I love this! The guy is treating them well! I heard a saying that goes like this : to get a donkey to move you can use a carrot or a stick! Most places like circuses and zoos use the stick! But he used a carrot (or peanut)!
In the wild the elephants are under a tremendous amount of stress constantly, so being captive in the most humain, loving and caring way is definitely a good break for the elephants, they're like celebrities the equivalent to being in the wealthy top 1% in the elephant world. That man is flexible ☺☺
I would say from what I seen from behind the scenes and how well actually them elephants really taken care of in the way that they look if I died and came back as a elephant when you take me in I would love to live with you that's so awesome I would even love to meet them elephants at just so awesome
Those elephants sure like they love him. Elephants are very intelligent and love to have fun and play social games and pranks. I am curious to know how he deals with male elephants in musk or if he only keeps female elephants. I don't think any child raised to love elephants and grow up and spend his life with them would wish them harm. This guy seems genuine.
Be sure to feed them 400 lbs of food daily and 60 gallons of water. And lots of roaming space. Elephants in captivity often suffer from arthritis and other joint pains..
I should tell you, elephants cost a lot of money, like a lot, you would also have a lot of space for the elephants to have room to roam around, you would also need lots of care for them and give them a diet.
I think they are just just tusk protecters. I dont think these elephants would ever hurt anyone on purpose, but it does seem like a good idea to put balls on the end of them especially if you are tumbling around them. You could mess up and fall onto the tusk and end up scratched.
If it's anything like training lions or tigers or bears (oh my) the rod is used as a focus grabber. Sort of like a conductor's baton. The trainer moves it to get the animal to focus on it, which is why it was used during the choreography 'trick' with the elephants spinning around and laying down.
Honestly, I dont agree or approve of most animal acts. But dogs, horses and elephants can be trained humanely. I myself would never do this though. But the elephants seem happy with him. Big cats and bears however...
I love how he actually treats them well and doesn't hurt them!
Why should he beat them?
@@lauradellafiore7583 I don’t think he doesn’t mean that but in the circus they whip elephants
@@jbeastmode2channel661 that's a lie, not all circuses mistreat animals
He actually treats them well! I'm fine as long as they aren't abused and get proper care
Yeah it really sucks because elephants look like happy animals but circuses ruin that by abusing them
LOL you can see the show he beat the elephant
I couldnt agree more my friend
@@aichanaciry8252 No he didn't.
Yep and the elephants have lots of company
These elephants are extremely well cared for and will most likely have a longer life with these people than they would in the wild.
i love the way the elephants are treated & respected by Rene, heart warming.
If he truly loved and respected them, he wouldn't ride them, and definitely would do jumping tricks on their backs, and make them perform in a circus!
Elephant kisses. How adorable. This man is living my best life
The man is living his best life but the elephants aren't!
It's cute how he plays and cares for them.

2:16 that elephant smile ! 😍
No bullhooks, always loose, not forcing them and actually a lot of space? That sounds better than all other circuses.

You don’t really need to use any of those all you have to do is get the animals to use their natural instinct then they willingly do the tricks
