Just incredibly sublime with layers of musicality that infiltrates and pulls at your senses until you want to applaud. It celebrates the original with grace and power and that doesn't often happen often in the way Toto transcends and honors H2 with this amazing rendition of Maiden Voyage.
Dreamy Soulful Funky UNPREDICTABLE rendition & great homage to Herbie! Perfect seamless BUTTERFLY Surprise too! I'm onto all of the great covers of this masterpiece, and TOTO's is in my top 3 faves. A most intelligent & creative way to get into Herbie's DNA. Beautiful upload. Much Thanks!!
All I can say...it's an "INTERESTING" version of a great song...I think Herbie (and he's probably heard every version imaginable of his "baby" he wrote and composed in 1965) would be pleased with it!
Toto’s members were some of the most versatile and sought after of all LA studio musicians for years. They worked with a wide variety of artists and styles.
Igual que tu nombre JAMES, TOTO no tiene que significar nada, es simplemente el nombre de una banda musical estadounidense, muy famosa por sus temas AFRICA y ROXANNE, entre otros muchos: es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto

That CD, all of Toto's tribute covers are well done.
Brian Auger and Trinity have a great version of this classic song.
My fave is still from Ramsey Lewis. Like you I am enchanted by this tune!
George Miller Yes, great cover Thanks, G! Just subscribed to your channel too;)
Zepster77 Yes beautiful cover! Thanks for mentioning Ramsey!!
That guitar tone..!!
When these two Classics join forces into one..THIS IS THE RESULTS!🔥🔥

I agree. Huge Herbie fan. I heard him play this at The Bottom Line in the late 1970s. It was incredible. These guys have the chops. Why not?
Yes He invited Them To Tokyo Jazz Fest 2004
Awesome song from Toto. Have heard this covered by 3 different artists so far but the Toto version my fave so far.
Amazing mix and the drum sounds Simon Phillips
Never heard this before herbie Is great Toto is great
nice, both Maiden Voyage AND Butterfly!!
Sounds like Maiden Voyage with little sprinkles of Butterfly as well.
Completely awesome! :-)
Very cool. Thank you sir.
Love it
I love it.
Wow wow!!
Cooool
it's a great tune, in a harmonical way. no cliches where we are fed up with and that makes it so interesting to listen to.
Yes they made the Rosanna song. :) Toto is Latin for "All Encompassing" ;)
Sorry, that would be 'todo' (all), not 'toto' that means nothing in Spanish.
It's Latin, not Spanish. And it's an interpretation not an exact translation.
@@gvatech Wrong, in Latin 'all' is 'omnia'
It can be interpreted as "all". The literal translation is pure.
Dope.
Never heard this. Better late than never.
Muito bom!!
It’s hard to think that the people who made Africa were jazz heads

👍
0:37 I like this part of drumming
Big fan of both Toto and Herbie, but something got lost from the original.
Why does it seem this album is not available on iTunes?
Check Amazon. It should be there.
Gary Abshire Hey thanks a lot. This is the only Toto album I ever bought and I lost the cd sometime ago
Modal
the original doesn't swing anyway Takanori
Love this but the harmonic at 7.01........needs to sustain into the ether :).........
is that steve lukather on guitar?
No this is actually Mick Mars
C'mon man who else would it be,I'm surprised U had to ask
Thought it was Jeff for a second there.
Please share *could you be loved* 🍾
I tried and got blocked. Sorry. I don't understand because the rest of that album UA-camd fine . Sorry.
Gary Abshire ^ Must be a copyright issue. Thanks 🎈🎈
English Countryside I tried and the copyright police got me. I have it on my cloud if you like. I'll try to comment it in.
Pat metheny+lyle mays
A natural choice, considering Miles Davis himself recorded with Toto.
isn't that "todo" en espanol?? Hablo espanol y 'toto' no significa nada.
Latin is the language spoken by ancient romans. "Toto" means everything. Sorry for the late answers.
Igual que tu nombre JAMES, TOTO no tiene que significar nada, es simplemente el nombre de una banda musical estadounidense, muy famosa por sus temas AFRICA y ROXANNE, entre otros muchos: es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto
dreadful crap sorry I will stick with the original
Herbie Hancock is Weak! This version is Better!
