It's easy to say as a commenter on UA-cam, but the culture in Hollywood is very unforgiving. If the parent of a child actor says "This is kinda weird" their kids acting career is OVER. The problem is, a lot of these parents live through their kids careers since they didn't get to have one of their own. Read Jeanette McCurdy's memoir. If you give anyone in the industry the impression that you are difficult, it's over. Drake Bell got Drake and Josh as hush money. Dan Schneider basically ran Nickelodeon. Any mention that Schneider did something wrong meant that your career would be reduced to an improv comedy trope in the Midwest, and that's it.

The worst part… They grow up with mental issues, dragged by the media for being “crazy” and “train wrecks”. When in reality, it’s most likely a trauma response from abuse within the industry.
It’s always blamed on drugs or mental health.
But never once do they look into what caused the drug use, or the mental break?
There’s always a reason people end up there.

Ariana on the other hand is a whole different case. There's no doubt in my mind she went through some horrible things when at Nick but how in the hell was she able to launch a successful music career and shine brighter than all of the former Disney stars?

This whole situation is just heartbreaking. It just goes to show how the cycle of abuse can affect someone from being a victim to a perpetrator. This is a situation where empathy and accountability both play a role. I feel for Drake’s younger self. He was a child thrown into an adult’s world and his abuser saw that and completely took advantage of his trust. I wouldn’t be surprised if the trauma changed his perspective on trust, relationships, etc. With that being said, current adult Drake needs to take accountability of his actions. There’s no reason anyone over the age of 20/30 should be trying to flirt with a child. Especially someone who looked up to you, knowing that you have the upper hand based on your status. I can’t wait to see what this expose has to offer, but at the end of the day, I hope anyone affected by this generational trauma finds peace one day

"How can there be so many people on set and none of them know..." Denial. I have friends who were CSA victims and SA victims. I've talked with a couple of their parents... it's abject denial. Many people see the signs right in front of them, but they don't want to. Not just they choose not to see it, or they're too afraid or too selfish to say anything... It is such a horrid and terrifying thought to them that they do everything they can to reject it, to convince themselves that it isn't happening, until they can't deny it any longer. It all comes out, and many of these people are shocked, and horrified, and they feel horrible because they could have done something, but it's not an act... We see fiction represent someone having selective amnesia after a traumatic event, but this is a good example of that in real life on a smaller scale. The reality in front of them is too gut-wrenching for them to wrap their minds around, so they gaslight themselves. And it's not an excuse, it's sick and frustrating, and we as a society need to learn not to ignore the signs.

Yeah I don't doubt this at all. Not just with all that has come out with Dan Schneider, but also with what Drake ended up doing. When I heard about what he did I was like, "another victim of the kids who grew up in nickelodeon."

A minor pursuing an adult is a thing that happens, and it is 100% up to the adult to *know better* and remove themselves from that situation. The minor does not know better, that's why we don't allow them to drink, vote, marry, etc. Teenagers want to think themselves mature and wise, we were all there, so it is up to the adults to understand the limitations better than the kids. Anything else is just disgusting.
