      @russvoight1167 National Nuclear Security Administration is an Office of the Dept of Energy. Most specifically, the Office of Secure Transportation (OST) is responsible for the safe and secure transport of government-owned special nuclear materials in the contiguous United States.
      I know the USAF works alongside them in certain operations, e.g. the convoy in the video. I could be wrong, I'm not read in to all the current operations of Global Strike Command. Thanks for your service, SAC was the real deal, I enjoyed the new museum in Nebraska.

      @@jeffs-reviews Theres a UA-cam video on it somewhere that talks more about the trailer and its security I saw recently, its basically a boobytrapped vault on wheels. If someone manages to gain access to the cab or otherwise tries to make off with the trailer, the axles have explosives in them that will make moving it much more difficult. If you could somehow break into it, there are traps in there they will electrocute you. There were a few other things, but those are what stuck out to me the most. Basically, even if you somehow overpower the security and gain control of the trailer, its next to impossible to escape with it or crack open the contents in the small window of time before the helicopter gunships welcome you. Some guy in the comments was a veteran who was a missile tech a few decades ago, and said if someone was actually attempting to take a nuke, a high 3-figure amount of soldiers would be mobilized immediately. Fascinating to think about.... makes me happy to know they are protected so vigorously.

The military convoy was traveling west out of Cheyenne, WY on Interstate 80, headed toward Laramie, WY. They exited the freeway and headed north on one of the roads. Possibly, it headed north on HW 222 to FE Warren AFB. But the overpass and signs are most similar to exiting to the north onto HY 700 or HY 210.

    DOE Office of Secure Transport. Could be a decoy, could be training, or could be actual fissile material. Everyone in support of that convoy except the truck driver and helo pilots are former SOCOM pipe hitters.

    • @None-ef6nf
      @None-ef6nf 9 днів тому

      This isn't OST. The Air Force transports their own materials. The marked truck is Air Force OSI and the BearCats are Security Forces.
      (BTW, A SOCOM background isn't required for OST)

      @@akforge You are absolutely right. DOE's Office of Secure Transportation and the US Air Force are two completely separate organizations.
      Both, however, transport nuclear material.
      This specific video is of a USAF transport--indicated by the AFOSI truck.
      You're also right about OST attracting many former members of the Special Operations community. It is not a requirement, though.

    The Kenworth/PETERBILT pulling the Payload Transport Trailer costs the Air Force $130k while the trailer itself is $1M alone. That ain’t no ordinary armored trailer either, that is the payload trailer that carries the warheads of the Minuteman Missiles. There are 26 of these Payload Transporters in total in active service.
