God bless our friend Ian. Back last year he thought he had 20 cattle at t’other farm and now he thinks he has 17 big bales of straw left, but in reality it’s only 15. 😂😂
It’s amazing how dogs recognise their “enemies” from within the car. My son’s dog accompanied us the other day and saw the postman riding his three wheeler bike alongside. He immediately went into attack mode with much yapping and growling. Gave us a terrific fright! Luckily the window was closed but he continued to let us know how cross he was at not being allowed to pursue his favourite morning ritual. Postie escaped unharmed and no one was any worse off for the experience.
What a kind man you are mr. P. for helping someone out with some straw 👍👍👍👍
If your going to be calving outside next year Mr p would it not be a good idea to have a small calving paddock next to the house for you to bring the closest to calving into to keep a close eye on them?
I believe straw will be going up in price as I’ve heard that up north they are having trouble with the grass not growing back after first cut.
I'm sure you've already said this, but I'm guessing that as long as they remain attracted by a new bale it might help get them inside for the next TB test.
Correct.🙂👍🏼
Was there an episode uploaded that I missed? I could not find anything to watch Wednesday.
Help someone out, and have more room for gear. That’s a win.
👀🙄🐾👍Has Reginald not got any grass this year?
I think you miscounted the bales.
Someone got some hungry animals 😂?

Did you heat/pressure wash the skid steer as well? If cocci is in the barn it will be on the skid steer too! Just a thought
After TB 2 we will probably steam clean everything again Heather.
I see some where I think Facebook some people we’re charging £160 a ton for bales of straw
Well I hope the cutting goes well .
Out west we have had a nice cool down but still very dry .

When you have a five star waiter,at a five star restaurant, why go through the bother of walking out to eat?
Smart thinking, waiting on the bull a little longer under the circumstances - and if having to catch/tag calves outdoors is a concern, there's things you can get that might help with that. For example, and I know that'd probably be a bit much for your herd, but a while back I saw that there was an attachment you could get for either a quad or something similar. Basically, it looked like a portable cage or fence big enough for you and the calf (that would protect you from the cow and keep the little one contained). So you'd drive up, pop that over the calf, do what you have to do, and that's that.
Again, maybe a bit much - but if you know a fabricator near you (or a friendly welder even 😉), maybe they'd be willing to put something like that together for you and you could give your quad bike a bit of a workout again? The other thing I wanted to mention was in relation to 210 - no chance it could be another bug, on top of the cocci thing, could it? Here in the States, apparently bird flu of all things was found in some dairy cattle (and a few humans now too, apparently). Even if its not that though, I think you're probably right in delaying future calvings over the winter months and keeping the little ones as safe as you can!
Ian , glad you had some recompense, we all make mistakes, but you were more than conscientious and safety aware getting the brakes sorted, for whatever reason and the costs incurred the dealer did not do the job to a satisfactory and safe standard.
Did they have a reason or excuse for their advertising sticker ?
Are you sure you have 17 bales left
21 or 22
Put a couple racthet straps around the loose bales to hold them tight to move them to it place of use or to use .
If the poo gives me a clue, you are a poet, and you don't know it

A comment, for effect
The calf does not look as healthy,or robust as your calves normally do
It’s one of the two that went down a few weeks ago, his mate didn’t make it even though we pumped them both with medication 💊 he recovered but has started to go back down again…. Something is definitely not right with him, so it’s out with the antibiotic bottle again 😕
Fantastic video Ian. Nice to see you help out a other famer in need
I’m a firm believer that what goes round comes round Mark, and whether your a farmer, plumber, sparky or mechanic, we all reap what we sow 🙂👍🏼
love the audience at the gate
Great update - hope the calf is ok!
Nice to see you got the Sight glass. Good Service. Yesterday I commented that I was still awaiting local JD dealer to come back to me re Gator service. After considering your video I called them yesterday. They claimed to have called me (and left messages) - they hadn't. They then said the will be out this morning. We will see.
As we mature, we developed that nasty condition called cynicism Trevor 😬😄
@@FarmerP I was born like it. Even had it mentioned on one of my School reports. Had to look it up - Thought yup, that's me 😹😹😹

I was once told by a police officer at an RTC we attended for the highways authority after a young chap crashed his car while travelling with two young ladies that my reply to his claim that he swerved to avoid a deer 🦌 on the bend that jumped into the road from his right forced him to swerve and crash, my reply being “What a load of bollox, you were driving too fast and lost it” The copper thought I was a rather cynical chap who shouldn’t judge without any evidence. I pointed out the 8 ‘ chainlink fence on the right hand side of the road and the 50’ skid marks leading into the bend… the copper screwed his nose and just nodded 😄

27:28 great content again
Well loaded.
🙏🙏💪💪👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪
Explain the difference between haylage and silage please.
Haulage is dryer then silage but not as dry as hay 😮😂
The moisture content David. Silage can be plus 30% moisture, haylage will be sub 20%.
😊👋
👍
have you got more geese?
No, still waiting for my brother to pick up the ones we have.

Is mental arithmetic the first thing to go?
@3koningen. 😊
No. First thing to go is memory e.g. names of flora and fauna, of pets, places, and things. I find going through the alphabet helps sometimes. Other times I will remember the name a few hours or a couple of days later.
Multi tasking goes out the window because there comes a time when all focus has to be on whatever you are doing. Move focus for a second and you get sidetracked on to something else 😮.
The best way to handle all these boo-boos is to laugh them off and accept it is part of life in the 70s 🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣
Oh my grey material is definitely starting to get a bit mushy, concentration is taxing, planning is tiring, thinking is exhausting, it’s all down hill from here 😬😄
@@FarmerP😊 Vitamins are vital as we age. Vitamin Bs,
Vitamin C , Omega 3 ( for memory), Magnesium, Zinc to name a few .Over here we can pop in to our local Pharmacy(Chemist) ( like Boots used to be ) and get all Vitamin, Mineral, Herbal health remedy's and supplements off the shelf.. Scheduled drugs (requiring a doctor's script) can be obtained from the pharmaceutical counters at back of the store. Apparently not so in England, according to my grand daughter who moved there 3 years ago. She is on NHS and also has a Medical Aid. To get meds or treatment for tonsillitis the NHS has it's rules on how many bouts of tonsillitis in a row before they will operate and there is a 9 month waiting list Medical Aid she can visit her Doctor but he/she has a 3 month waiting list for an appointment. She has suffered with Tonsillitis on and off all her life ( she is 27 now). All she wants is some meds to treat it herself.. 🤦🏼♀️. Makes me think twice about moving back to England. It's the bureaucracy and weather that puts me off 😮. Only drawcard at present is the thought of visiting Bradley Farm, meeting the Pullen family and scratching Mary 🤗
I only counted 14 and a part bale left as there 3bales to the wall 5bales high plus the 2 out side??
@danrichmond9287 😊. On the trailer there were 2 rows across and 4 rows lengthwise. The rows were stacked 3 Bales high. So there were 12 Bales in each row. 12 X 2 =24. As per Farmer P's description . Thankfully my mental calculation came up with the right answer. Whether it was the correct way to calculate it I have no idea 😀. However, at the tender age of 77 I am happy my mental arithmetic still seems OK 🧑🦳
Four bales to the wall at the bottom Dan.
