Yes.. but vamsy has more musucal knowledge than other directors of his era ..often he used to give leads to isaigani so that he could compose a tune around it.
I personally met isaigani in 2013 and spoke to him regarding their combo.
Vamsy garu said that ILAYARAJA Sir took 45 minutes to compose thease 5 songs.

Truly saying, I miss the Preminchu Pelladu movie days. I'm not a Telugu man, neither know the dialect but saw this movie more than 15times. In it, every thing was exellent, music by Illaya Raja ji at the first count, direction next and all the actors, especially Satyanarayana Garu. Rajendra Prasad,Bhanupriya duo gave the feeling of reality. Even the comedy quadra opened endless enjoyment. Oh what a movie.
Such a lovely songs and music...illayaraja sir is a great and a wonderful musician. I love him so much.

Sorry Bro. Ilayaraja's Composition has no combinations, Languages or any restrictions. By design he's a majic. Arguably one of the best Music Composer par Genius to have emerged in this world in general and india in particular.
It's really astonishing that he's composed 1000 and odd films which others can only dream of, all these while maintaining a creativity of the highest standards.
He's not only a film musician, he's much much more than that. He's never taken more than 3 days in his illustrious career to complete the BGMs for movies with astonishingly high standards which have lifted a very many obscure films to better levels.
He'll finish the Compositions of the songs of the movies in matter of just couple of hours time.
For instance Chinna Rayudu''s songs were totally composed in just 35 minutes and the songs remains afresh even after around 3 decades.
Ilayaraja is phenomenon which Indians have to cherish and treasure for generations to come.
