It's the "Why is my opponent all of a sudden playing more aggressive than he has been the last three minutes" ward. When he does that back off because Shaco is around.
It's crazy how much time you can spend even on something tedious like game theory and fundamentals when you are interested in something. I have so many lectures to catch up on, yet here I am watching hours of mid lane fundamentals and taking notes. Just wanted to thank you for this amazing content that you provide for free :)
The one time youtube did a good job with recommended videos, that's how i got here. Nice videos mate, i actually learned some new things, tho most of the tips i already knew, but really enjoyed watching it anyway, maybe cause you explain really nice. Good job and keep it up.

@@CoachCurtis No worries my dude, if you ever consider taking requests, i'd love to see your take on Zoe. (unless i'm blind and can't see one already on the channel haha)
I tend to rant so Ill just try to keep it as short as possible: 1. Your videos are amazing. I agree with someone down there that youre doing x10 times better job than mobalytics and skillcapped combined. The amount of knowledge is insane. I'm somewhere in between the plat-diamond elo, yet I've become aware of so many more concepts or things in league because of you. I had no idea my map awareness was gold level until youtube actually highlighted your channel. And the fact that youre so interactive with your audience, while providing literally free content is simply stunning. You also seem to be really wholesome person generally. Keep it up B) 2. I have no idea what was that I wanted to say, cuz I actually began to rant and lost my train of thoughts. Great job me XD. Im pretty sure you get the gist from the first paragraph anyway. 3. I actually remember what I wanted to ask now. As I recall, the time stamps for midlane wards were like 2:30-2:45 against lvl 3 junglers and approximately 5th minute after their recall. I am quite aware of this, yet I find it somewhat difficult to ward, cause I dont really want to loose either cs or pressure mid (I play control mages, TF, Syndra, Ryze, etc). Now, after this whole foreplay, let me finally introduce you to my question: When should I put these wards? Should I manage the wave in any specific way so I can ward without sacrificing anything? Is there any ideal opening when I should do this when the next wave already managed to arrive? Aight, so that would be it for keeping things short. Thank you for your time if you actually managed to read to this point XD. Love from Poland, have a good day or night c:
Hey man thanks for the kind words! Well in terms of when to ward and what to do with wave, it's actually a misconception you need to have the wave fully pushed in, you can actually just finish last hitting the low creeps and quickly go out of vision and ward and you still won't lose any CS. So going as the wave is in the middle is usually completely fine :)
I feel like warding is one of the things I'm decent at, not necessarily the placement, but the vision score. Thank you, this guide covered the "where to ward" part very nicely.
I always have these games where I don't pay attention to the map and then 5min later my map is grey and I have 2 ward slots available. But some games I ward properly with control wards also, my vision control is 50/50, something I should work on. Great vid Curtis!
Best channel I've found to learn how to play League Of Legends, specially mid (which is my role), I went into the video thinking 17 minutes of warding explanations would be boring, I just finished the video and thought there was 10-13 minutes left. Nice work!!! I hope I get to platinum this season, seems it will be easier with your teaching!
Good to see content like this still coming out. Phroxonn used to have series like this. very informative, its what got me into the game back in the day. Thanks!
I actually write down most of the things you say in a note- its very useful, I reread them every time (until I get tired of it) before I start a ranked session
I'm a Talon main and although the middle ward could work, what I typically tend to do is move back to my tower when my minions are pushing to the enemy tower. Then I use my E to jump the jungle terrain, through the final wall, jump that, and I'm already at the end of the enemy lane and avoided the middle ward, the river wards, etc. So against an experienced Talon player, I'd actually suggest putting a ward near the buffs and the flanks near their tower.
Great point man, even at the highest elo I very rarely see Talons do this so thanks for this tip :) I'll have to remember this for my next games vs talon!
0:54 To what degree are we referring to of "changing a player's behaviour" Does that include them clearing it for free when it was dropped literally 30 seconds earlier? A jungle vi was chasing me then decided to clear the pink after walking through a brush.
For Step 11 i sometimes like to use my roam time to put it, usually they don't walk through the bush for some reason and i get sneaky information of their jg whereabouts 😆
Thank you for all this great content and keep up the good work. I was almost too lazy to learn mid lane and was going to stay on top or ad(yea ik i shud pick a lane alrdy), but having these videos makes learning mid exciting and simpler.
Curtis, love the videos! I would like to add something to number 15, I think another use of objective warding if you’re behind or even even with the enemy team is being able to counter capture an objective. If you’re behind and you see both baron and dragon are up, and enemy team is spotted on baron, you could quickly hit dragon while their occupied to also get an objective in your favor
Hey there! This series is great and super helpful! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you're puttin into this!! I would have a suggestion, if you don't mind it😊 Could you make a video about midlane wave management? When to push, when to freeze, how to manipulate the wave against good waveclear champs to prevent falling behind in CS etc.
If anyone is curious what was written in point 5 5. Now for you're second ward of the game it really depends on how the lane is going and the strength of the 2v2 mid/jg
My main question is when to use a pink and when to use the trinket? I understand the pink denies vision and the trinket doesn't. But what determines a good pink ward? I always buy pinks, but I never know where to put them, or what game states I should look for to use them. So I never drop one, even though I bought it, lol. Would love some elaboration. (Yes, im oldschool, I still call them pinks haha)
Great video mate! If you can/ want make a indepth video how to track the jungler. Thanks for making this great content. I've learned a lot from your videos. :)
when you say about chucking wards for no reason when youre reacalling, what about say youre a control mage vs a roaming assassin, would dropping a ward close enough to their tower but now close enough that its not true sighted be useful to see which way they roam? or is that low elo warding mechanics?
Hi coach Curtis I was wondering, if you play Katarina would you rather take blue trinket post 20 or red trinket, what's your opinion on it. I often hear that for this champion red trinket is a must.
It depends on the jungle path,if they are pathing to a side you should try ward the ledge that they will end up at. But either is still effective because it will help you lean
I like the 20 min fundamental guides. The longer videos are nice too, but sometimes you can go on to long on a topic or movement. This can make it a bit to much. Keep up the good work!
Hey, maybe I'm late to the party, but I have one question: say you are playing against a poke-heavy champion, what are you prioritizing: potions (sustain) or wards?
This is a great video! i just struggle a bit with pink wards, not the position or where to put it, its that most of the time its gone after a minute by the enemy jungler even when im winning lane and pushing hard. I cant decide when its the moment to buy a pink ward :/
Hey great video! I just had a quick question at 7:72 where you said to ward the dot brush opposite to where your jungler is starting, if enemy jungler is strong early. Why not just ward the buff directly, as the enemy jungler can take the long way around the pixel brush and avoid detection?
Great video! Btw do you have any tips for looking on the minimap. Like how did you develop the habit of looking there? Did you use sticky notes or something like that? I usually always look on he minimap in the first 2-5 minutes of the game but especially around 10-20 min of the game I play like there is no minimap at all. Unfortunately I ALWAYS notice that my minimap awareness becomes worse and worse the more the game progresses when I review my VOD instead of thinking already in game about it.
Well the reason you would look less at the minimap as the game goes on is purely because the game becomes progressively more chaotic. Honestly minimap awareness comes with time, my biggest advice for that would be to understand the underlying importance of WHY you need to look, so then you will naturally want to look more. For example, if you understand that you need to look at minimap to assess side lane location/jungler locations/ward locations, safety for pushing waves etc. you will want to pay more attetnion to it, rather then me just tell you look at the minimap 3 times every minute etc. I'd focus on the other fundamentals, then it should come naturally.
Would you still swap to blue trinket if your game plan is to splitpush? Seems to me that placing yellow trinket wards in their jungle would give you more consistent information of the enemies whereabouts
That's an interesting thought, honestly if you really are commiting to staying in the side AND you are able to win the 2v1 against the enemy laner AND jungler then I would probably keep yellow trinket. But if you aren't that much stronger then blue trinket is more reliable.
I realt love all ur vida bro, just wondering if you could talk a bit more about warding as an assasin. And warding as a controllers mage. (Just a Quick tip for an idea of a video) Cheers!

The "champion select ban shaco only ward"

Love your vids, any chance you can do a talon mid guide??
It's on the list :) for sure in the future
Is there a new guide for the new map? =)
Idk if Im right but I never place control wards in the side bushes in mid lane because theyre easy to destroy
They are generally lower value then dot brush, But like I said if the dot is already pinked its fine , or if you are playing something that can make picks over the wall its not bad either
A coach with a travis scott tshirt ? I subscribe.

Watch first, pick 1 thing to impliment
