there was a case in the UK where a young lad was on benefits, he was paralyzed and bed bound with a machine breathing for him. The government sent him a letter saying "can you come in on this day to prove you cannot work."

Lockpicking competitions have hackers as well as thieves but the majority are professional locksmiths. You can find them in every city and in most counties. They do things like open houses up if you lock yourself out, rekey locks, make keys for unknown locks etc. The highly skilled ones are impressive as hell to watch.

7:50 - the lock picking competitions are common at hacking conventions. They also have servers setup that people hack in competition. One common hacking convention is ‘Def Con’ that takes place in Las Vegas.
These conventions definitely have their thieves and feds in attendance along with security professionals.

For handicapped parking I've always wondered how I would prove my disability being involuntary muscle movements but they are not always occuring so you kinda just have to take my word for it. Probably not going to drive much anyways because of it but it's an interesting situation to be in

I believe it's against the law in the US to question someone's disability. It's considered harassment. I know how to pick a lock. I used to work for a door hardware company and one of my jobs was re-keying locks, so I know how they work and how to pick them.

It’s not illegal to question someone’s disability. It’s illegal to compel someone to prove what their disability is, in terms of employment. Even in that case, if an employee makes a reasonable accommodation request for employment, the employee has to have a doctors recommendation as to why it is necessary to the employees comfort. Just like if you work retail, you can ask someone if an animal is a service animal, but you can’t ask for proof or documentation that it is a service animal. But I, as a private citizen can demand all I want to know what someone’s disability is, they have just as much a right to tell me to go fuck myself and not provide any information regarding their disabled status.

06:23 - You will change your mind if you ever watch the video about dolphins from Casual Geographic. You might do a reaction to his video one day. Scary animals.

My mother that had polio had to walk for traffic cops to show her disability.

My mother had polio also, but it only messed up her right hand. She pretty much could do everything with her left hand.

Disability in the US is a pain in the ass. Took me almost 5 years to get it. Had to go in front of an administrative judge. Apparently when I said "I want to work, I just haven't figured out how" he was stunned. 20 years later I'd love to be able to work, I just haven't found a job I can do. The problem with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia is that your body just hits a point and shuts down. I've been in the middle of a project had to leave everything to take a shower and sleep. Next day I picked everything up and I had to wait a couple more days before I could get back to it. I don't look disabled at all - but on a bad day I'm lucky to be able to vacuum or do the dishes.
