This song feels like it’s about my life. I found god on the cold jail house floor with no hope for a future. God is now my future.
It just goes to show you. Even when you feel like your in the lowest pits of hell, JESUS is there with you and HE CAN AND WILL PULL YOU OUT AND LIFT YOU UP and GIVE YOU NEW LIFE AND HOPE AND FORGIVENESS. Even if sometimes we can't forgive ourself. Praise GOD!!!!! Just keep looking up and reading those red letters and praising JESUS for setting you free.

Bless you brother. I have never felt closer to God than when I was in that Mexican prison. I actually had one of the prisoners baptise me in the prison. I have never felt cleaner than in that water. I had three hundred prisoners surrounding me while one of them plunged me underwater...never have I felt safer.

I just want to take a moment to give praise to God for what he’s done in my life. As a Christian you never forget where you came from before becoming a believer and follower of God. I heard this song “Red Letters” by Crowder and it spoke to my heart, brought tears to my eyes. There is not one verse I can describe, because the entire lyrics are true for me.
I was lost without God and undeserving of anything good because of my guilt and my sin; still yet, because of God’s love, grace and mercy He gave me a new life.
Psalm 40 is also a reminder to me of where I came from, but most importantly what God has done in my life... “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” Psalm 40:1-3
I remember when I first started going to church I did not know how to read a Bible; much less what the red letters were. I did not know what God said about me, who I was, nor about His plan for my life. God took me out of the pit I had dug myself into and he set me on his firm ground; he washed the dirt off of me and clothed me in white; he took my anger and replaced it with his peace; he took my unfaithfulness and showed me his perfect love; he took my chains and broke them to pieces; he took my pain and he healed me; he took my pride and showed me his humble spirit; he took my selfish nature and he taught me to serve and to love; he took my bad choices and he gave me wisdom; he took my emptiness and He became my best friend; he took my thirst and he gave me rivers of living water; he took the lies of the devil and he gave me truth...he took my scarlet letter and gave me His red letters. Jesus transformed my heart, and still continues to...day after day. So today, I am “a free man” as this song says; I have “a new song in my mouth” as the psalm says. God’s praise will forever be on my lips 🙌🏻
If God has done so much in my life he can for you too. The process may be long and painful sometimes, it takes full surrender, but know that good will come from it. I pray you are encouraged in some way and know that God loves you no matter what you’re going through. Thank you Crowder for writing this song and thank you Jesus for your word.

The red rope represents the words of Jesus ( the words of Jesus are written in red in the Bible). It's showing how Jesus is surrounding us at all times and cleansing us with his precious blood (which is also red of course). I believe thats what it's supposed to represent. It's just an artistic point of view. It's beautiful.

i had gotten caught up in the drug situation while I was trying to help my ex-husband with his drug addiction. I thought I was not going to get wrapped up in that because I was saved. like I was immune to it. but I was wrong. I took my eyes off of Jesus and that's all it took. but Jesus chased me down and brought me back to his arms. and now i am serving god by trying to care for three brothers that are disabled and my nine-year-old nephew. I thank god every minute that he brought me back.

Jesus is the word itself as John 1:1-18 declares. From Genesis to Revelation is the word Jesus himself. Jesus even told the Pharisees and other religious leaders of his time walking this earth to read what Moses and the prophets wrote about him. The word became flesh and dwelt with us. Emmanuel! This Dec.26th will be my 35th anniversary walking with this awesome and wonderfull Savior.

I’m about to turn 19, I was raised in a Christian home, I’ve been a Christian from the moment I was old enough to understand, but like many people in my early teenage years I wasn’t living the way I should but the last year I’ve really felt like god has been calling me home, I’ve began to try to live my life for god, I started praying more, and worshiping god in my free time and I feel like a different person, I didn’t feel like I had a relationship with god before, now I do, I’m learning how to listen to god for guidance and answers, for the first time I’m at peace, I have peace with god, I have peace with my future, I have peace with my past, I have peace with myself, something I didn’t have until I fully dedicated my life to Christ.

When I first heard this song I didn't understand what the " red letters " were. I thought red letters were some kind of pardon letters written from the government. About the third time listening to this song I realized the " red letters " were the words Jesus spoke written in the Bible. These are, in fact, the ULTIMATE pardon letters that deliver us daily.

Jesus was Emmanuel because he fulfilled all the prophecies written by the prophets. This is why Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. The Lord God Almighty gave all his authority to Jesus and subjected everything unto him except himself. People miss that Jesus was 100% son of man and 100% son of God. His conscience was God the father's voice and our conscience is Christ in us. If we listen and follow the word of God we too can be like Jesus, John 17:21. We can all be one with God...according to Jesus.

I was In San Quinton I was In RC And that was When we were housed next to death row I was guilty of my charges and I was set free 15 days later then then I was put back in to Tracy and I was looking at a long term I found the word of God lying on a prison floor and heard his voice his voice I love you son I love you I was reading the book of Matthew mark Luke and John and I broke at the end of John I was set free one week later I know Jesus Christ is real and anybody reading this Please come to him before you have to find him in a dark cold dank prison cell. And remember this he can set your soul free wherever you're at. In Jesus Christ Holly Name save us from our sin set us free. My Son in law served over in Afghanistan twice and just would say he believes in a higher power yet didn't know Christ with my love for our Savior just being Mom to a great young Man. This year July 15 he turned 31 yrs. Told me he accepted Jesus Christ and ask me if i get him something he would like a Bible and of course with joy abound my heart i was so humbled to give him the gift the Lord gave us all his Love and our Savior Jesus Christ. My Prayer was answered that day. My Son is going to be in Heaven with his family best gift on this earth. He told me it was the best gift i ever gave him i let him know God never fails his Children. ❤ Is the gift that never fails Gods love through us.

I ask a prayer for an uncle of mine who recently got out prison. He spent nearly a decade living between those prison’s walls and now, little by little, he is recovering. He had an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ during his time there. He is pretty much starting from starch, but fortunately he has his lovable siblings helping and supporting him during his ordeal. This song seriously touch me because it explains exactly what my uncle went through. I really do appreciate the prayer for those reading my comment. My family and I will also be praying for him and his psychological recovery. God Bless you all and thank you Crowder for the remarkable music.

I literally found Jesus while incarcerated on an armed robbery charge. Looking at 45 plus years in prison. The c.o. came by ever so often asking if anyone wanted a Bible. I was there for about 4 months before I said yes. It changed my life forever. John 3:16 hit me so hard, because I got locked up the day before my oldest son turned 5 and I couldn't imagine the love involved for God to send his only son to die for me. Im so thankful that I was locked up!! I would have never developed a relationship with christ had I never made that mistake. Thank you Jesus!!!

I’ve had over 10 years sober & clean at one time but have had a few relapses . I’m a Recovering addict, my son has Autism he is 22 my husband & I are having marriage problems ect.
