My husband and I opened an Etsy store MagicAtWorkCreations with digital downloads for 20oz tumblers three weeks ago. We have designs that can compete with the designs of the stores that have high sales, as you mention. But it's not so simple to jump on the success wagon if you don't know the tricks on how to get noticed by potential customers. We do a lot of research, but the visits and sales are very low for now. Unfortunately, there is more than knowing the products that sell, opening an Etsy store, and getting the designs and SEO right. We found an Etsy store, that started in approximately the same time, has a similar number of listings that we have, similar designs ... and more than 2000 sales. One wonders what are they doing differently from us for such success.
They are running ads, ads, ads, and you have to spend a lot of money on them. Some of the stores are spending $25 per day on ads. Even if the ads don't yield immediate results, they can help you discover the keywords people use to search for a product and provide you with ideas for products that you can create
Thanks for sharing! I must agree with A.I that ads are very important to be discovered at the beginning and it will help drive sales. You can then slowly reduce your ad spend as you grow your sales/customer base. It then becomes a knock on effect, as the more sales you get, the more Etsy will push your listing up the rankings and you will find that you will start to get organic sales as well as ad sales. I would also recommend testing different images/videos to promote your product to see how they convert (CTR). There is obviously more to it than just this, and at the beginning there will be a lot of mistakes which is quite natural, but don't be dismayed, keep working, learning and progressing and you will be successful. Good luck!!
Canva doesn't download as 300 DPI. Is this going to be an issue once printed? Or is that why you upscale it before this to make up for the DPI once downloaded from Canva? What's another alternative? Upscaling the image from MJ and then uploading it to photopea and changing the DPI and size?
Hi there, 300 DPI is a standard minimum to ensure your designs meets the quality required. One way to do this, is to upscale the image produced on MJ so that it can be used with high resolution. You can do this using various Ai upscaling websites which can give you upto 400% increase. You can then adjust the size to the specific dimensions of the product you want to sell through Photopea, Photoshop, Canva or many other software's. Hope that helps!
@Justteachinstuff awesome! thanks brother really appreciate it trying to lean as much as I can , also what type of permit would I need to start selling? I stay in California, Thanks.
how can i know if an image is seamless or no ? i have used some online checking tools of pictures but i don't understand what do you mean by seamless and how to see if it's seamless or no Thank you
Good question! I do explain in more detail about seamless and how you can verify this, in my other 'pattern' video's, I have a playlist for it. I hope that helps!
But how do you get the wrap effect in canva? I have tried to do this with no success. Another creator did a video on this using a specific aspect ratio in MJ to make them fit on the printify skinny tumbler... and then the skinny tumber was discontinued. I also tried doing the mug wrap in canva as I am trying to sell mugs with a wrap effect. If you ise --ar 293:151 in MJ the wrap fits perfectly around the printify mockup, but I cant get them to go on a mockup in canva. I think you need photshop... not sure
in midjourney use --ar 2000:1763 you will still need to upscale the image, then in canva create a custom size of 2000x1763 px or 9.3 x 8.2 in and upload your upscaled image. (That was for simple image), for image seamless with 3d flowers for example you will need to add --tile to your prompt in midjourney here's an example prompt : 3D flowers pattern, --ar 2000:1763 --tile, good luck
Just one question-Chat GPT states it’s up to 2021 so how is it giving up to date info? Does it search recent if asked? Or is the info it gives from 2021? Any info would help! Thank you!
Although png is an excellent choice for delivering great quality prints, PDF has the ability to to preserve high quality artwork whilst keeping the file size down. It can also be preferred as a format for commercial printing. I think if you are selling the designs on Etsy and provide both formats, you can't really go wrong.
It's primarily a digital product design that can be used for POD. So you could sell the designs only as say PNG files or you could use the designs and create POD (tumbler products with the design wrapped around it) through Printful or Printify and sell that way. Hope that makes sense. 🙌
Honestly, Etsy used to be cool when it was a place where people would actually sell handmade stuff made with care and it wasn't overrun with listings like this that they have to compete with.
Thanks for watching Etsy fam!♥

@@a.i5452 I get mixed messages from YT videos. Some say advertising does not help with sales.

@@a.i5452 that true, I got sales 7/8 from ads. My listing just 50. The first sales, my listing only 3. And sales come on day 1 I open the shop.
I love your videos.. but a little remark: Chat GPT uses data from 2 years ago. Asking it stuff like popularity of designs isn´t that wise. :)
The new GPT 4 is $20 and is now uptodate to current date. You may want to check it out to keep yourself uptodate.
@@TheSquirrelsgonewild You didn´t use GPT4...
Thanks for the info!
@@Justteachinstuff You can do it without paying too

Wich is a great POD website to start doing this thanks.
Hook up Printify to your Etsy store...Printify is a really good option 👌

To be honest not sure about Cali
