I am not associated in any way with Ben Pentreath Ltd - Architects. This video is tribute to architectural approach employed by the architects.
The project is a partnership between Cornwall Council, the Duchy of Cornwall, Waitrose and local food producer group The Taste of Cornwall.
The application was approved in 2013 and the project is expected to commence on site, in a series of Phased works, in 2013.
The scheme will also include small food processing units for local producers, community allotments, a demonstration kitchen garden and the planting of more than 6,000 trees, including fruit and nut varieties.

thank you for working to put beauty back into Britain, the scheme looks inspiring and will bring smiles to many faces, especially if the practical details are thoroughly worked out. I would be very interested to know what comments, were made by the Conservation Officer and Planning Officer. Many are taught to believe that if you build in traditional style it is pastiche so you must build in 1960's style instead!
    stand firm.

Yes, this development is pure pastiche. But who cares? It is on a human scale, the materials used are attractive and I bet that it will prove to be highly popular. Let's have more!

I appreciate you do not like the supermarket with a large car park being built on the edge of the town. I too do not like when this is done because it diverts trade from the town centre. The Truro council wanted a park and ride, so that was part of the brief no matter whom designed it. This video is paying tribute to the architecture employed. Traditional architecture is far superior to modernism. Would you have preferred a zinc clad box with steel and glass for a shopping centre...

Sickening, buildings looking for a wreaking ball.

Design warmly received??? What planet do you live on? This is just pure pastiche architecture built on farmland for the benefit of the duplicitous Prince Charles (the countryside is like a cathedral.... except when I can make a bob or two) and Waitrose.
