This is how it was in Hawaii during the 2011 Japan tsunami, except in some areas it was a bit stronger, enough to flood hotels and knock a couple of houses off their foundations on the Big Island (Kona west side). You were lucky that the Seychelles are far enough across the Indian Ocean to not be affected so much, same as us in Hawaii from Japan. Further east the Maldives got it much worse.
Very fascinating! Good thing the tsunami was too weak here to build massive waves going far inland so you guys were very lucky, only witnessing a strange phenomenon in the bay without fearing for your life. Great video! :)
I live at Seychelles My Father was scuba diving he said he just saw fishes swimming fast as they could and then the Tsunami bring him on the beach my mother was on a boat they were at La Digue
I know this is beating a dead horse but it shows that it helps to know what these things are before you experience them and not after when you might not have a chance.
While all coasts can be attacked by Tsunamis, some areas have a much higher risk than others. This video should be mandatory viewing in coastal areas that are at risk for Tsunamis.
Thank you for posting this! Remarkable footage of the water receding! I felt shivers up my spine watching this. Took great courage to stay. Thanks again
What a amazing and beautiful site to watch, The power of that Tsunami has weakened just enough to wave in and out in the normal tidal range, The Power released during the Tsunami must be amazing and stuff
He must have fainted when he heard news of how the tsunami acted in other locations.

They don't see that water coming back in? 😮
Perfect moment to recording the Tsunami
J étais exactement sur cette plage ce fameux jour
The guy on the beach: look like the water goes down and up again.
I'd say at this point that 3/4 to half the world now knows what a large receding ocean means at the beach ...
