So he reads to about page 30, and another girl starts at 100. So I still have to read 70 pages listen to the whole book by tomorrow 8:30 am. Don’t procrastinate 🤦🏻♀️
We’ve technically supposed to be finished with the book today, and I haven’t started. I’ve just been bullshitting my way through any in class discussions.
Thank you for doing this omg. School starts tomorrow and my teacher's making sure we've read it. I can't finish it in a night but this video helped me have the will to even start. Hero.
Very intelligent, is how you narrate. Check out my facebook page, Charlie Fabara Cox. Thanks. I'd love for you to narrate some stories I wrote. Be super-well, Mr. Don Pedro.
thx so much for this. helped me make a dent in the reading when the robot accent on the 'wiki talks' one was mad hard to understand. nuthin beats the human voice! thx again
Y’all complain about having to read to like page 70 I had to read this whole book in 5 weeks while also doing other papers, balancing a job, and desperately trying to not fall behind in my school work
The pity is, I suppose, that a crime such as this was once considered sensational enough to produce this book and subsequent movie. Unfortunately, it would likely be lost soon enough amid the crimes that are reported daily today. And, likely, be dwarfed by the plot of most any CSI episode. Guess, this irony is because we have spontaneous access to the “news” via cable and the internet. Back then, crimes were less publicized beyond the local newspaper or TV stations - or, limited nationally , due to only 3 network channels to report them. ABC, NBC and CBS. Period. In a way, ignorance was a sort of bliss that preserved a degree of innocence back then to those who lived states away. Now, we seem to “know” everything and, consequently, form an opinion on everything, as we are inundated with information that often adds nothing, personally, to the finite time God has provided us in this life. And innocence has succumbed to apathy. And - while this reading may serve those who have been assigned to write about Truman Capote’s talent as a writer - this book would likely not be as notable were it written today. Admittedly, just my opinion. 🇺🇸☦️
This is another rare case in which the movie is better than the book by far! Capote waffles worse than Stephen King! Going into great detail about meaningless shit that doesnt further the plot. For example he spends more than a page describing the old horse the Klutter girl would ride. Dont waste your time on reading this! The original movie is soo much better!
POV: you're listening to this at 2am because you have a socratic seminar at 7am
yup
Hahaha exactly

Very good audio quality, Don. There is, however, some sound like a refrigerator, in the background. But hey, you narrate perfectly.

Your pacing, tonality, and many other talents are perfect!

The pity is that the crime is NOT thought of as being horrendous today. That's a sad indictment on the United States and our gun culture.
Don Pedro... part 2? we need you in these trying times

Thanks!
Omg he posted this a year ago!! We need part 2!!
you’re a god. thank you.
1:09:33 just a time marker
Thank you!!!!
thank you so much for this !!
It's so strange to hear places that you grew up around in a written book
aAaAaAaAaAa I agree as the towns they talk about in Kansas are from where my ancestors came from around Garden City.

Around 32

Then why did u listen?

You're the reason he never made a part 2
