Great breakdown and comparison between the both rigs. Do they both integrate well with small and large packs? I'm looking for something that can carry my essential survival kit while wandering northern Ontario. Something for all day comfort and if it can double up for something at the range them perfect.

Any chance to wear a kydex holster inside the mini rig? I am looking for a way to keep my pistol with me while running in the woods.

Yeah if it’s compact enough you can pop the holster into one of the two middle rifle mag pouches

Odd question but will the center admin pouch on the mini training rig fit a canteen with cup?

I don’t have a surplus canteen right now to test, of course it might depend on which countries canteen. It may bulge a bit especially if you have tool etc in there. It would fit nicer in the drop pouch imo

yeah its a double 556 pouch insert velcro-ed in place.

This is well made gear. But, why is it called a training rig? Why dedicated training rig? Why not train with gear you would actually use in a actual fight?

I don't own any to try, however the fit is pretty snug as is, so it may not have the space to tolerate the insert and magazine. Just a guess.

There are pistol inserts but the elastic I think is only long enough for something like a Glock 17mag, I don't think they would retain something like a 33 rounder or mp5 mag.
