Love The HU! I know they're seen as Mongolian rock, but most of their songs are actually Mongolian folk songs praising Genghis Khan and Mongolian culture (blue Tengri) playing ancient instruments and Mongolian throat singing. I believe HU means human in their language. Don't you Love the feel that horse headed fiddle makes that horse's neigh? That fiddle is called a Morin khuur, an ancient Mongolian instrument with an interesting history of its own.
So I know I am super late. But This song is about Galdan Boshigt Khan (Khar Ayanga) Khan of the Dzungar Khanate(Western Mongols). He tried to unite all the Mongols against the Manchu (Qing Dynasty). The enemies of this MV are the Manchu people from China.
So glad your reacting to the Hu ..I am a die hard Army but love The Hu ..hopefully I am going to see them when they come to the UK ..iam a 66 yr old grandmother too lol
I think maybe the question you might ask is more would you want to live in a society where violence is considered the first, best, and possibly only response to something that upsets you. Yeah, this music throbs in your blood, the capacity for violence is a necessary element to survival. But in many cultures like this bloodshed calls for more bloodshed in a never ending cycle of an eye for an eye. However, superb cinematography, and magnificent music.
the war between Mongolia and Manchuria(Qing-China), The Manchuria fiannly won the war and start a new country which include China,Mongolia,Munchuria named Qing or DaQing(The great Qing)
Mongolians can correct me, but if my memory don't fails me..... One of the Ancient mongolian's khan have a nickname Black Thunder for his warlord skill. And this is a song about warrior who goes to the war to claim what his. And anyone who stands on his way - will die.
That twangy instrument used to be called a "Jew's Harp" but is now considered a racist label. It has many names, in many cultures--we just call it a mouth harp...
For historical context, the enemy you are angry at is a eastern Mongols. They're praising the western Mongols in this song. The song wolf totem is inspired by eastern Mongol's warlord's lyrics of that period aka civil wars between Mongols.
Hey QoFy, I have a request. Could you react to Indian Folk Metal band 'DYMBUR', their new song called 'Back Home'. These guys play folk metal and write songs on very sensitive issues. This song 'Back Home' talks about child prostitution & human rights. I'm requesting you to react to them since you did react to The Hu. DYMBUR is quite similar to them
Would i live and survive in the battlefield era? I scratch my knee and die. No antibiotics nothing. I would defintely be erased from the gene pool before having chance to do anything at all mate hahahha
Just seen them live and there recorded stuff is cool af but doesn’t do any justice to what this band actually sounds like live. Truly amazing live sound that rips into your soul.
Even in barbarian times were females free. To rein and to fight. Shield maiden for the vikings, for example. Or Hatschepsut in Egypt, Queen Boudicca. Feminism, my a55.😑😑

It's a jaw harp. There is a third part to this but I can't spell it, but it's really awesome.
