    “Saw the 2 on 1” lol what a beauty. A true hockey player. Glad this ended in a minor injury and he’ll be back soon. Credit to the staff to get him out of there so quickly

    He was one of the kids I wanted the Oilers to have long term, a good Alberta Bot that doesn't cheat the game, finished his shift and wanted game updates from the Hospital 👊

    This kid is incredibly likeable and a real warrior on the ice. Never seen him take a shift off. These are the kind of guys you want wearing the bluenote crest for a long time.

    Blacking out is scary speaking from experience. I got in a wreck a year and a half ago and was hit by a car while looking for a spare tire. I blacked out on the ground on the side of the highway with severe head trauma and next thing I know my dad is there screaming at people to slow down before being loaded up into an ambulance. I don’t remember being in the ER much but I remember throwing up in the elevator afterwards and then I was in the ICU for 3 days. I’m honestly just thankful to be alive and I’m also glad that Dylan’s injury wasn’t as bad as mine. It’s good to see that he’s doing better and possibly ready to play in the next game ❤

    • @alm4132
      @alm4132 6 днів тому +2

      Yes. He called it a "Chokehold" but it is actually a carotid restraint hold. Restricts blood flow to the brain AND over-stimulates the Vegas nerve causing confusion and unconsciousness. Hence the term "Sleeper" hold.

    Seeing Ray Barile clear the bench and lay him down like that with his head isolated... especially as confused as everything was on the ice at that moment. I think, like everyone, we were flashing back to the Bouwmeester incident and were afraid we'd see history repeat itself. I'm really glad he's okay and will be able to come back.

    • @nicotti

      Yeah! The Brian Sutterer MD channel covered this and said that's a common thing to happen with a blow to the carotid artery cause there are baroreceptors located there. The pressure spike from the puck hit could cause them to tell the body to constrict blood flow.

    I was at the game in 2000 when Trent McCleary of the Montreal Canadians got a slap shot in the throat. Still remember the sound, he almost died that night. Never played again, medical staff at these games are life savers. These athletes sure deserve the money they are paid. 🫡
