But, it's much worse than that. Imagine if the bank loaned you $100k, and then said, "Not only do you have to pay this back to us, but every paycheck you will ever get in your life, will come to us. Also, we can decide if and when you work. And for any reason, we can force you to stop working, with no retirement fund. Oh, and you'll still owe us every cent you will ever make in your life, whether you work or not." Except, the bank only tells you this, after you've spent the $100k they gave you. So, long after you signed the agreement. That's the music label industry in a nutshell.

Nah, TEXAS is very much aware of the accolades of Chamillionaire. Texas hiphop doesnt venture farther out to other states like other genres due to media, content, publishing, etc.
But Texans knew about Chamillionaire's money moves since 07. He's always been a very intelligent dude, the rapping was just a bonus ability really.

I mean, he is constantly out and about in Houson and I been seeing him around for almost 2 decades.. His house is about 1 mile from mine and its just a nice suburban home. Nothing crazy. I mean its probably worth like 2 Million cuz he has a super nice property and the location is perfect(again, the guy knows how to invest), but he lives pretty modestly compared to most people that have $50 Million+ NW... He is just a smart guy and he a pure businessman.
