There was actually a ton to go over here, I'm glad we could show it off! There's a ton of work that went into putting this together and I want to thank everyone that was involved.
For who you saw 1 key for the first time, here's some little bit of information 1. It's not doable with human hand. If you see the video who did 1key with their hand, it's edited. 2. It's not possible to beat the game with 0key. If you see video who starts the game and run right to the 2nd floor, it's edited.
@@sleeptalky The 0 Star run is different from this run as it uses a Lobby BLJ to collect the first key to reach the basement. From there it is similar in concept to this TAS. The reason it is impossible to complete a 1 Key run RTA is due to the first BLJ seen here in the castle grounds. It requires hundreds of frame perfect inputs followed by incredibly precise Parrallel Universe movements to get to the Vanish Cap stage, and THEN another set of hundreds of frame perfect inputs and incredibly precise PU movement once you're in there to reach the basement door.
Don't get me wrong this is fantastic, but it's criminal that we haven't gotten a 120 star TAS in over a decade, considering this is one of the most popular speedrunning games of all time
None of the people on the couch are actually playing. They have an Arduino playing back recorded controller inputs, but like a dozen or so people worked on optimizing those inputs. That's who DanPark is shouting out during the final cutscene

nice work epic to watch
"parallel universe" "30 million speed" sorry what
Watch the speedrun carton, you will get it
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest time loss is the delay between saying "time" and the timer being stopped. Incredible stuff.
Be me in 1996 at Target playing Super Mario 64 in the electronics section and jumping around for 10mins outside the castle.

me on my way to do arbitrary code execution to beat the game with 0 keys
isn't 1 key the same as 0 star? which is very difficult but has almost 200 recorded runners
Don't forget the final point: Mario does indeed go into a P A R A L L E L U N I V E R S E
That is, in fact, the technical term.
@@sleeptalky No, 0 star RTA runs get both keys

There's been one in the works for just about that long, but they keep finding improvements that require sections to be redone.
It’s in progress. They’re still working on Dire Dire Docks and a few more 100 coin stars
Check out PaLiX for his interesting scattershot algorithm improvements.
I need a PhD in Super Mario 64 just to know what they're doing at this point
3:11 Gotta love the Tj Henry Yoshi reference!
Is Rcombs in a Lycoris Recoil cosplay? If so, that's a damn good one.
THANK YOU!
I was going insane trying to figure out where that school uniform was from.
Hurt my pride as a weeb.
how is this possible and who figured it out like how? amazing love it :)
poor Lakitu
Did not expect this! This is great!!
I liked the moon walk
Incredible tas run
Who's playing?
what in the shit
Who was actually playing just then?
TASbot
It's a TAS-a tool-assisted speedrun. No one was playing it. A software script was making button inputs.

This is a TAS, which means Tool Assisted Speedrun. No one was playing.
I was wondering the same thing
This game is broken
