Merion will host the Open in 2030 & 2050. I wonder why not 2040. I agree with you that Merion is a great Open course. As Lee Trevino said after he won the Open at Merion: “I’m in love with Merion and I don’t even know her last name.”
I feel like there's about 7 courses that the US Open should just stick to. Having it at lacc this year instead of one of the iconic courses is just stupid imo
@@dorothygale1104I live 1 hr from Merion...best course in the world in my opinion but the community is small...tough to host a major in such a small area but happy to see we're back in the rotation
I was 13 years old standing behind Phil in the fairway on that last wedge shot. When he started to walk it out after he hit, it felt like the whole crowd in the fairway would rush the green if he made it. Will never forget that moment
thick rough, narrow fairways, fast undulating greens makes for high scores. This course the way it was set up there would probably not even be fun for a mid handicap amateur. probably shoot in the 130's haha
Another U.S. open where, on the back 9 Sunday, it felt like Phil had complete control and was surely going to win. The runner ups don’t even do justice to just how many he had in his back pocket
It’s fun to watch the various hats the players are wearing with their sponsors logos on them.. the RBZ on Rose’s hats is at least 9-10 models ago for Taylormade’s drivers 🤣🤣
im so glad they have drones now, and we dont have to listen to that blimp sounding like a lawnmower above. i cant hear johnny half the time. sure do miss him
Even with the occasional petulent displays of partisan commentary, and those worse for wear boisterous bellowing inebriated spectators it didn`t detract one jot from the sheer determination of the winner, that british guy... rose by any other name, and the sweet smell of victory,👍😁
Amazing course. I personally would love to see this course host the US Open at least once a decade

@@jefftaylor8644absolutely. There’s maybe 15 courses that can host a US Open. Erin Hills around 2017 was the weirdest one by far
@@kevinarm6499Philadelphia is small??
Rose’s 2nd shot on 18 was one of the most majestic shots under pressure that I have ever seen.
2023 us open at LACC played like the Phoenix Open compared to the beast that is MERION
As a Phil fan this one still really hurts
Yikes. He coulda been -3 on first 2 holes.
lol cry
If only man 😕
@3:17:49 Birthday present!
Johnny Miller is the GOAT IF ALL GOLF ANALYSTS!! No ONE COMES CLOSE!! He’s brutally honest, Pulks NO punches, shows NO FAVORITISM TO ANYONE!!
agree.. i miss him
Watching Phil mis-read putt after putt...they never use a local course caddie, his missed putts cost him a win.
I was in the stand on 18 for the last 3 groups. It was a good us open.
Phil’s hair make him look like he’s wearing a Darth Vader helmet.

Appreciate the upload USGA!
However, the sound is consistently awful on all these videos. Can barely here the commentary.
Wonder why such a short course like this could produced such a high score?

can nbc not able to get rid of that loud noise from the blimp or plane. extremely annoying. cant hear the announcers
Steve stricker almost sounds like he’s from Sudbury lmao

It's crazy watching this and knowing the outcome, seeing how many times Phil lipped out. Could've won by five.

im just getting into golf and i hate that they spoil the winner in the title

killer course that takes no prisoners.
Phil from 120 on the back trying to hit crap draws….after rain. Hmmmmm, and always someone didn’t mess up and beat him
once you you start hearing that awful blimp propeller drone, it becomes unwatchable
Man, baggy trousers hung around in golf for far too long.
Oh my god Johnny Miller negative Nancy all the time so annoying
hes a nutjob
