I didn’t like LinkedIn. It kept referring me to people who could give me advice. Most were life coaches, and one was a neurosurgeon. I didn’t get why a neurosurgeon. I see a neurologist once a year for a condition I’ve had since childhood. I didn’t know how LinkedIn would know that, though. I did message her to ask if she knew of any research studies related to my condition, because I’d participate in a heartbeat. She never responded. The most exciting thing that ever happened to me on LinkedIn was that one of the morning radio traffic guys sent me a “congrats on your work anniversary” note. Omg I felt famous! And yes, be careful about keywords. I’m a caregiver for elderly and disabled adults, and one of my clients was on dialysis. LinkedIn kept sending me job openings for dialysis nurses. I’m not a nurse. I’m a caregiver. There were just too many weird things about it. I’ll see if I can find it and link it under that highlighted comment.
When did you set up your profile? If you haven't done it recently, I'd check again. I feel like the entire platform's been revamped ever since Microsoft took over. 👍🏼
