How do you enjoy the style Rosé chose for her debut? What other solo projects from k pop and j pop music groups artists you would like me to react to? :)
This is about her reflection on her life, her journey to stardom, and on what really matter to her". You and I": you = Roseanne Park (her birth name) and I = Rose of Black Pink. The mirror scene: she wrote "Rose" on the mirror, which then it becomes "Roseanne", and then Rose sees Roseanne in the mirror. What a concept! What an inspiration! This choice of this theme tells volumes about this lovely GENUINE, HUMBLE human being.
@@badabudu8970 No. Her birth name is Roseanne. It's in her younger school pictures (schools and government only uses peoples legal names). She was asked on an Instagram live what her real name was and she answered, "Roseanne". There's a clip from the Netflix documentary of her as a very young child where she said, "Hi, I'm called Roseanne."
This debut really showcases the Rosé as a solo artist and not the Rosé of Blackpink. Her potential of becoming big as a solo act is enormous esp knowing the fact that this girl can definitely produce, write, and sing a song. Also, one thing I like about this project is that it shows her vulnerability not just as an artist but as a person as well that we rarely see on blackpink songs. This girl, for sure, has a very bright future ahead of her.
Rosé May not be the best vocalist in K-pop but she has immense respect for music and that's what makes her different from the other k-pop idols. I feel that she is not just an idol rather she is an artist. She portrays all the emotions through her voice. If she wanted she could have opted for jazz and sassy mv but she opted for a music video which delivers her own story. This is why she always stands out from the rest. Beside this, I really like your reaction video❤️
I would describe her differently. She might have one of the more unique voices in korean pop, technically on the same level as the best in the genre. Plus, she is a gifted song writer and could at anytime have a career of her own. I do agree that her voice is very expressive. Just my two cents :)
I completely agree, SHE IS an amazing singer and her best quality is her unique voice/tone, she cant do a high note or sing like Wendy or Yuju, but her streghnt isnt there, she is... different.
I love this song because it is so meaningful to Rosé. There are references to older Blackpink music videos like when Rosé is on the swing infront of the theatre like Jisoo in Stay, and the car is similar to the car in Jennie’s solo, also the flames give Playing with Fire vibes. And Rosé writing her name on the mirror like in As If It’s Your Last. These references reflect Rosé’s career and journey as Rosé of Blackpink. And when she sees herself playing the piano it represents her younger self as Roseanne during her trainee years before she was in Blackpink.
Queen Rosé..I really love her vocal.Everything.... I love❤ your reaction too .Please more check out Blackpink songs and Tokyo dome live performance too. Bye the way I'm your fan. Love from Myanmar.
Rose may not be the best vocalist in the Kpop industry but, for me, she is the best when it comes to storytelling, expressing emotions and voice color.
I'm proud of her. Out of blackpink members Rosé is the one who is musically inclined. She can produced, write/compose, knows how to use lot of instruments on her own. The fact that she has many songs in her folder but she doesn't want to release it cause she's not confident yet 😅. Can't wait for her future, she will be big for sure as a soloist 😊
The record company clearly see her as the member of Blackpink that will become the international solo act. They're right. The song, using English for her first solo work, the production and her voice are all massively on point.
It was Rosé's decision to released an english songs because it was written by her and she said that she expressed herself much better in english compared to korean especially that she's a kiwi-korean aussie so basically a native english speaker.
That’s so nice and professional of you to notice every detail of the mv and most especially to ROSÉ’S quality of voice.Because most people based on high notes which she can obviously do and most get used of Blackpink’s upbeat type of songs...they are forgetting that this is ROSÉ’S SOLO...her own kind of music & her own style. You’re absolutely right! She knows exactly what she wants & how to do her own music...Thank you!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ON THE GROUND explained - It seems like a typical love song but Rosé said in her vlive an hour before the M/V's release that people were surprised when they saw the direction she went in because it was not exactly a love song. - ROSÉ explained - "Basically the song is kind of about looking for answers in life for a purpose in life, and I feel like people especially these days, can relate to it, sometimes when you're always kind of on that roll, you kind of forget to take care of what actually matters to you most, and it's just a song that says everything we need is already within ourself. There's no need to go out and look for it." - MV explained - The "You and I" that Rosé sings about in On The Ground is actually about her and her past self. This song is about her development and change in life to a more lavish level but still missing something that actually also matters to her. She sings "You find out that your gold's just plastic." This means that the new life she has now is not as great as she expected it/not as valued as her own life. When she writes "Rosé" on the mirror that's her as an Artist but then it makes a flashback , written where she only just a little "Roseanne" (her Real Name). This shows her transformation from her past self to who she is now. Then right after the mirrors, we see Rosé in the black+pink dress looking at her younger self playing the piano and being happy for her enjoying the things that actually she miss/loved the most.
Her talent and her unique voice deserved a full 10 song album...she is not just a Kpop artist she is a full worldwide rock artist...just imagine if she could expres her self fully
Thanks Katriinka for your reaction Imo this song is deeply introspective. Rose evaluates her path in life as an Idol. The other person Rose is mentioning is "Roseanne" which is her real name (as you see her writing in the mirror). On the pianno frame, Roseanne is sitting, talking to Rose who is standing with the pink dress and the black scarf. So, she is working all her life to reach star status, but the essencials like love, family, children are on the ground, far away from the star life which glorifies and promotes image, against essence. This again is my interpretation, but the succesful writing of the song, permits more simplified intepretations, to embrace larger audiences who do not want to dive deep. She gives you the tools, you choose which ones to pick and use. Brilliant.

Lee Hi, Wheein, Taeyeon, Lee Jieun, Heize, Ji Young, Bibi, Ailee, Gummy and of course! Rose are the fair few female kpop/korean vocalists that i really get immersed in and really appreciate. hits the feels with ease and just love their voices.
