I don’t know if I missed it in the video, but Strike going to the church after hearing about Charlotte’s death was, in my opinion, a big turning point in the series. It felt like he could finally leave what was in the past and move forward with what is to come!
Found this by accident. Great fun to watch and so sorry the book got spoiled for you. Have you done any reviews like this of previous Strike books? Will go look and will definitely be back to see what you have to say about THM. Thanks x
Sadly it was entirely my own fault, I saw the spoiler warning and all three of my braincells made the decision to click anyways! I haven't yet but I plan on making more Strike/Ellacott re;ated vids because they haunt my dreams ;) x
Condoms where used though so there would be no 'accidentally' the only way that would happen would be if Ryan interfeered with it which is why it stressed me out lol!
Just discovered your channel and love it! You are funny and interesting and you are reviewing my favorite author/favorite series. I don't u it to ever end!
LOVED it!!! And I don’t understand the “no romance camp” eitherrrrr….it was OBVIOUS from the start that these two are headed towards each other. Oh and I read fast too (I read the books, not audio and didn’t manage to watch the show when it was still available in my geography 😢) and I completely agree with how physically uncomfortable the last few chapters get with the deliberate lying by omission around vital clues 😒😒
I spent so long re-going over Strikes chat with the killer because I couldn't work out why he was telling them so much 'stuff' before I clicked that he was stalling for time :/ I really hope you manage to see the show because it's like seeing the story from an entirely differeny perspective
@@FandomHype So...I did watch the first season...but this was long back and I hadn't yet read the books yet so the show kinda slipped out of my mind. (Sorry, Strike! 😭) When I went through all 7 tomes in a span of a couple months ..i realised how badly I wanted to watch the show but by then the show was retired from the platforms we have available. I managed to find only Troubled Blood. I agree it shows a different perspective and I'd love to watch all seasons now. 🤧
@@kenzthepea Plot twist there is no murder only my death from lack of book! I was soooo convinced we were getting The Hallmarked Man by Winter and now I have doubt. PAIN and doubt!
@@FandomHype She certainly cranked The Running Grave out in a hurry. Perhaps RG/JKR should spend a bit less time tweeting and more time writing, but who am I to say?
With no spoilers I was up until 3 a.m. because I couldn't stop reading until Robin had escaped from the farm. I also loved it that Strike and Lucy finally connected as real people; wished for more about Angel's health; loved all the bits about Pat, Midge, Dev, and Sam. I think it's this book where Sam asks why he's 'no bein picked' to go undercover as the pretty boy who sweet talks the middle-aged woman stealing art from her soon-to-be ex and hanging out with young men. And I totally missed the bit about Robin lying to Murphy (I almost said Matthew) -- excusing her for having so little experience with dating, any BF who wasn't Matthew, etc. THANK YOU for all this.
Thanks for the review. I think that the epigraph for the last chapter gives us some clue as to how this thing between Strike and Ellacott is going to end up.
I really hope so because that one was beautiful! Iron and Bronze being mentioned there is interesting what with the Silver connections in the Hallmarked man too!

This is fab. You should go on the Strike and Ellicott files as a guest!
I do not have enough brain cells to be on that pod lol! x
"Matt the twat" - that's the best thing I've EVER read about these wonderful books🤣🤣🤣
"Matt the Twat TM" is his name in my head lol!

Oh yeah for sure! I can not wait to see Tom Burke do those scenes in the TV show!

I think Robin will get pregnant accidently from Murphy, because she stopped getting birth-control on a farm.

I love your recaps, they're hilarious AND insightful!
I'm here to teach the world about Scottish swearwords! x
Loved your recap. So entertaining and hilarious. Thank you! Also, I think the fan fic you mentioned may be "Will She or Won't She?" by DevineMandate.
Yes that is indeed the one! I knew someone would know! Thsnk you so much for telling me and for the kind words x

Couldn't put this book down loved it. May have to re-read at some point.
I did my second "read" with the audio book, would 100% reccomend!
I have never seen an actor that can convey emotion with their expression as well as Holliday Grainger.
Yeah, I'm a little bit in love with her face!

Thank you for watching my nonsense! Not enough Strike stuff online at all x

@@FandomHype I really enjoyed Strike trashing Ryan's weekend in the last chapter. Robin's mind will be elsewhere, methinks.
Good recap of the book, but I'm glad I read it before I viewed your video.
Oh god yes! Hopefully nobody watches my vids ignoring the spoiler warnings :)
