Remember kids, “the best version of WAR is the one that fits your narrative”
Fangraphs is just better
My favorite Fortnite Pro Benjamin Franklin once said that

Waiting for Bailey to come out with "Six Degrees of Narrative Ball"
Congrats on somehow finding something to say about Profar. 102 WRC+ in medium leverage! I'm sure that will help the El Paso Chihuahuas who are desperately lacking in medium leverage players.
THAT'S OUR UTILITY BABE RUTH! GO SCHNEIDER!
Telling my Japanese relatives that Lars Nootbaar is as good as Mickey Mantle
Patrick Bailey wasnt even narrative ball, hes just insane
Davis Schneider is trying so hard to drag the Blue Jays to the Post Season, but the rest of the team is dead weight at times! Give us a full lineup of Davis Schneiders!
The Babe is the GOAT
Gets on base in his first PA today
Throw in Clement and Horowitz and as someone wise on Twitter said, the Buffalo Bisons are keeping the Blue Jays in the playoff race.
@@bernier42lmao, I’m a jays fan so your Insulting my team but your right so it’s ok, we have played so badly recently and it sucks because are pitching is finally good
@@emersoncusworth1607 They're my team too! Laughing so I don't cry.
Went to high school with Davis, (we called him D) such an amazing an cool guy, he deserves it.
Go Vikings
south jersey represent!
i usually laugh at massaged stats and comparisons that get blasted to tv broadcasts, so this whole video is hilarious. you earn multiple guffaws, well done, sir.
Seriously, the stuff they do with Ohtani specifically is so ridiculous it makes it hard to watch.
Jurickson Profar executing his player option was absolutely bonkers and the nicest thing anyone's ever done for the Padres I'm pretty sure
The Rockies picking Jurickson Profar up was even more bonkers
It's the Rockies, so not that bonkers.
"...as we know, those are the games that really matter"
Hot Diggity Dog, the Narrativeball is strong with this one!
need more of these, would be great offseason filler
Davis Schneider has a 1.7 WAR through 16 games
And Guerrero Jr. has a 0.9 WAR in 132 games. 11th on the team
You’re going to look realllll silly when Schneider wins 11 straight mvps and beats Bonds, Roses, And DiMaggios Streaks while carrying the Jays to 20 straight World Series’
The Martian is hitting home runs at a pace of 120 per year. At age 20, at his current pace, he could hit about 2000 homers.
Love this channel!
Really enjoyed this video. I love going on Stathead, Fangraphs and Baseball Savant and just look at stats that standout and find something special about players.
Davis Schneider played little league with my brothers unfortunately I was too young but I’ve told so many stories about him and how he would hit a homerun almost every single ab
This video is awesome. We need more of this
This is awesome. You should make this an annual series or something!
IKF will have a plaque in monument park one day
As a Davis and a Blue Jays fan, Davis Schneider is in fact the GOAT
All jokes aside, Davis Schneider is the goat. His moustache has a higher career war than Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Ohtani, and Trout combined.
"Since Integration... ya racist"
Fuckin gold
Bobby Witt Jr. has the most total bases and extra base hits for any primary shortstop (60% of games played at SS) through their first 2 seasons and in their 2nd year alone.
Great insight into ESPN's way of using stats.
I’ve always thought in so many sports how many players would be future all stars if they were given a chance. Just look at how Jose Bautista went from the worst to the best hitter in the game for a pretty long stretch.
One of the great things about sports is the infinite what-ifs. Max Muncy hit 5 HR total in 2 seasons in Oakland, and then 171 over the next (almost) 6 years with LA
This is brilliant work by our boy Bailey. Also I can vouch for Stathead being worth the money if you are an amateur or professional sports analyst (I have signed affidavits swearing I'm not being paid to say this)
There better be some JJ Bleday on here
Foolish has betrayed me
This was an amazing 8 minute stat head ad.
2:11 aged well; Sanchez got 18 whiffs with the changeup against the braves his past start on 47 changeups thrown.
That was the most entertaining add I’ve ever seen
great thumbnail dude
Chris Sanchez named his changeup the dirty sanchez
As a devoted fan of the Cat Man, I am going to reference that he had the lowest ERA for a starter in their first 4 seasons since 1990 every time he is mentioned until he is back from TJ and then probably for 3 years after that still
This was 2 months ago but I NEED a Ty France one
Looking at that spreadsheet that was used for Ruiz...wouldn't it be better to have a higher Barrel%/K% than a lower one like he does? Barrels = good, Strikeouts = bad, so respective values of 10 and 5 percent would be 4x better than 5 and 10.
All I have to say is: 2022 Matt carpenter.
To think José Fernandez’s ERA was that close to gonaolin shows how special he was. Harvey being on the list is just awesome
I need more of these videos like I need oxygen
Great video as always. You should make a video about Walter Johnson, the goat. Thank you!
I second this suggestion.
The Ruiz one doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t a player with 1% barrel rate and 20% k rate have a ratio of 0.05, which would put them in the lead? But I wouldn’t want a player who barrels it up 1% of the time and strikes out 20% of the time
one of the great platoon hitters, of the last couple seasons..😂😂😂
The greatest platoon player of the last couple seasons. Get it right.
@@007Hutchings someone as smart as you, 007, can see by the punctuation that it wasn’t a quote.
If we make the playoffs, even undeservedly, its because of what Davis has done here. He is on a special kind of fire, he's the kind of player the Jays need right now as a franchise. In a year where the offense has been cold we needed that hot bat. BABE FOREVER!
The ultimate narrativeball challenge would be Jed Lowrie’s Mets tenure
Bro didn’t even need to narrative ball Patrick Bailey
Hey Bailey looks like you swapped the barrel% and k% headers on your spreadsheet! 6:57
Prime content; peak foolishness!
3:09 is how I found out how bad of a season Jurickson Profar was having
Did not have unnecessary hate for Yadi on my bingo card for this video
That’s the kind of value Patrick Bailey gives you. Incredible stuff.
Omg.. the twitter clip is me at the beginning 🤣
I don't understand the Keibert Ruiz one. If K% should be low, and Barrel% should be high, that means Barrel%/K% should be high. So wouldn't Keibert have the 15th WORST Barrel%/K%, not the 15th best?
Kerry bonds mentioned let’s go
Yes.
Philly Sports Sufferer makes a cameo appearance 🐐
KING BABE SCHNEIDER.
6:37 I was at that game lol
Find me a more productive platoon containing two guys with really weird first and last names, that also look less like professional athletes than my nerdy accountant, than Garth Iorg and Rance Mulliniks of the '80s Blue Jays.
I dare you!
This was hilarious
Narrative ball is an old game - it's just notes passed between player agents and GMs during free agency.
Davis Schneider Eastern High School Legend
Narrativeball is basically just Mike Korzemba videos but for Baseball
Babe Schneider
Can you do Yan Gomes or Kenta Maeda?
How do players get stats like that first OPS one and never get more plate appearances as a result of that short term success that would then further result in diluting that number down to something that is more within the norm? Are they all getting injuries?
Need a Daniel Vogelbach comparison, only using his Mets tenure.....😂
He was Mike, now he's Michael 🤪
Ha! Can't imagine what you can do with Ryan O'Hearn KC years only.
The greatest narrativeball in the history of sport is the graphic with Thaddeus Young, Larry Bird, LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson

Zack Gelof and Ryan Noda!
Smh passed up on my Jarrod Saltalamacchia request
Who holds the record for most 1st inning leadoff home runs? I think I heard that it was Ricky Henderson. I'd be willing to bet we will all get to see Acuna break that record at some point though. I'm curious as to where Acuna ranks on the list though because it wouldn't shock me if he ends up shattering that record at some point but I have no idea how close he is.
It is Rickey, with 81, George Springer actually moved into 2nd place on the all-time list this year with 56, passing both Alfonso Soriano and Craig Biggio. As of this post, Acuña has 31, which is tied with Chuck Knoblauch for 18th all time and 5th among active players (Springer 56, Betts 47, Blackmon 40, Altuve 34)
@@ruwisc_ Yeah. I checked the list after I typed this. Acuna still has a ways to go. Blackmon is 10th with 40. Acuna should pass Altuve pretty soon here. Acuna has at least another 10 or 15 years to do it though. He's averaging around 5 per season so if he can keep that pace up he should pass Henderson in around a decade or so. I didn't realize Springer was 2nd all time. That's pretty impressive. Man that's a big gap between first and 2nd. 25 home run difference. I don't think Acuna should have much trouble getting past 2nd place. First place is going to take quite a bit longer. I predict Acuna will be in 2nd place within 5 years or so and then take over first place within a decade or so. I think Acuna wins MVP this year. After Acuna and the Braves display against Betts and the dodgers at Dodgers stadium I highly doubt Betts gets more MVP votes than Acuna. If Judge deserved the MVP over Ohtani last year then Acuna deserves it over Betts this year. Betts is having a great year but Acuna is doing things no one has ever seen before.
best player in major league history davis schneider

Who’s your MVP, Bailey? Ronald, Mookie, or maybe even Freddie??
Isaac Paredes

Wander Alonso
Definitely Albert Pujols, his strike out rate beat in baseball this year
Do Tommy edman. My guy is so underrated
Soroka is just depressing, but his 2019 season was pretty good.
Excelent Video as always, now help me with my Dustin Pedroia HoF Case, as he is my favorite player.
Pros: MVP and ROY and multiple WS wins.
The best MLB the Show Comercial which said he struggled against high and inside fastballs, which he historically crushed and was changed
Big Papi Called him Peewee for a decade and didnt know his first name meaning his play spoke for himself. Papi still doesn't know his name to this day, despite playing over 1600 games with him.
Con: Manny Machado ended his career 10 years early with that dirty slide, meaning, his 51.3 career war could have been doubled, meaning Pedoria should have finished with a 102.6 War, give or take 10 games, putting him comfortably in the top 50 all time in WAR.
But you know who else won ROY and MVP, and is going to finish their career with over 100 WAR? Mike Trout. Was Pedoria just Mike Trout before Mike Trout? I think so.
Sad to see that my vote for the best player named after a fish AJ Pollock wasn’t in the video
Jarred Kelenic except not the first two and a half weeks of 2023 lol
Better take care of that cough 😂
New narrativeball to push: Kerry Carpenter is the greatest player in MLB history

Conclusion: Christopher Sanchez is the greatest of the rod all time and is winning an unanimous Cy young
