- Did you know that in Florida there is a town that was built by Disney and used to be owned by the Walt Disney company!? Sounds pretty magical, right? I was lucky enough to live there, and I find that it's completely shrouded in mystery. Not many people take the time to visit, so no one really knows what it's like to live there. Join me on this tour of my former town as I give you an insider's view of what it's like to live in Celebration!

this is so interesting!! i’m not from the US so i wasn’t familiar with this town at all, but i’m doing research for a master thesis on the private production of public urban spaces, and this Disney-town is proving to be a very relevant example to analyse! this overview was quite helpful!!

I lived in Orlando when this community was built and always dreamed of living here. After moving away, I always said, if there was a place I would move to, I would be there. In May of this year our dream came true and my husband I bought a home in North Village after I semi retired. Although Covid cancelled most of the events, the overall pleasant vibe is still present. Your video taught me a few things....thank you for posting.
I'm so glad you enjoyed - and even more glad you got to move to Celebration! Enjoy living there! I miss it very much, but I know one day I'll be back.
I remember when they just made this place. My parents wanted a house here so badly. We looked at a few of them and they were all SOOOOO beautiful, but so expensive.
I was there in July of 2023! I had fun! I visited the park nearby the basketball courts. They had a sector for bird watching . Nice scenic walkways everywhere ! Good times!

My son lives there and I love the feel and safety and downtown feel of years gone by. Just beautiful and clean and if I could afford to live there this would be my choice ❤

It really is beautiful. They put a lot of thought into planning it.
There's even a resident town gator - Charlie - that lives in that lake. :)
I just noticed the girl on the bike with the little pupper chasing. . . Now all I can imagine is Heather and Copley riding around this town on that old cruiser! Adorable.

Celebration honestly is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been too in my life.... I'm from Florida and grew up in windermere in Orlando which is a very nice but Celebration is just breathtaking all the way around.
I know, I love it there so much.

Celebration looks so peaceful and beautiful with a fantastic community by the sound of it. I am coming to orlando in September this year. Will be my first time in USA and this place is most definitely on the list of places to visit.

I was just there last weekend. It was a lot of fun. I rented a bike and rode around the boardwalk trails. The homes are all nice. You did a great job covering everything.

Thank you for the book recommendation. I think picking up an almost 900 page book might be intimidating to most, so I recommend anyone with a peaked curiosity start with chapters 20 and 21 where the author first mentions Disney and it most closely relates to the subject matter of the video. The whole is definitely a tellingly informative and very engaging read, however, and definitely worth anyone's time-- especially those participating in the modern American political landscape. Thanks again!

Whenever we would leave Disney to drive back to South Florida, we would drive by Celebration to look at all of the pretty houses and stores, but we never got out of the car to walk around. Till now. We stayed at the Bohemian Celebration Hotel October 8-11 (yes l got home about 3 hours ago) and walked everywhere. The people are all so friendly. We ate breakfast at the Diner every single day. We had dinner at the Tavern and the Avocado Mexican Restaurant. Pizza at Upper Crust. Ari Sushi (OMG!!). Ice cream at Kilwins. Drove through all the different neighborhoods. I can honestly say that we had never been so sad to leave a place we vacationed at. This would be an excellent place to live (and don’t think we’re not considering it!). THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO. Awesome job in capturing the spirit of Celebration, Florida.

We just got back from staying there and it’s magical! Everyone is so kind! The food is delicious! The service is perfect! Just our favorite place we’ve ever stayed! 💜💕💚💕💙💕

I am wondering how those who purchased homes there feel about Disney selling Celebration. Also, I am wondering why someone doesn't open an acting theatre in the movie theatre. The high prices and the rules not to mention the HOA fees would definitely be a problem. It would have been nice to have towns which really were like the older towns in America which have all but disappeared.

It really is so pretty there! But the weather can be really intense in the summer. So hot and humid!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, anyone can visit celebration. There are parking lots and street parking all over. Just mind the parking rules signs and you'll be fine.

Hello, I know this is a sort of old video but I wanted to ask if there are HOA or Celebration fees when you live in an apartment building within Celebration?
If you own a condo there, yes you'd have HOA fees. But if you're just renting you wouldn't need to pay those - your landlord would.

I loved it there - it's definitely worth looking into! I will say the nightlife is kind of quiet there. More restaurants and wine bars, so if you're the type that likes to go party, it may not be for you. But if you like community events I definitely recommend it!

What is the best way to find a rental property in Celebration? We are looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bath - Thank You
The real estate agents in town are invaluable - they handle a lot of the rentals in town. You can also check on the Celebration Facebook page. Sometimes residents renting out their places post there. Good luck!

This is probably one of, if not the best planned cities in the US since the 1920's. You live walking distance from shops, restaurants, swimming pools, parks, schools and so on, something 90% of Americans don't have because of car-centrism
not at all. this town was a huge failure. thats why disney sold it and are making a new one.
there were a ton of murders rapes and burglaries here like what 😂 and the entire town structurally fell apart

People have heard about Celebration due to the Todt murders and the rapes/burglaries that have occurred as well as the fact that people complained about the schools and shoddy construction and quickly sold and moved out. Not everything is as it seems.

My wife and I where looking for a renter house with a pool to move in to next year.we’re from Pennsylvania so tired of our cold snowy w.we found out there’s so much more better nursing jobs in Florida. We want a pool with our renter house .we’re ready for our big move next year.

Me and my mom cousin and my daughter drove to the Bank of America cause it was the closest when we left old town we ended up in celebration after week of tryna figure out where we went I finally figured out it was here but I’m hearing a lot of horror stories me and my mother was interested in buying a home here but it feels like you can count how many blk folks live there in one hand🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I had wanted to live there forever and on a whim I went, saw an apartment, signed a lease and then moved a month later. Best decision ever!

In the 168 page Homeowners handbook it says a maximum of two pets, not over 50lb , and they can take your pet away if they decide its an "annoyance" . Deliberalty vague language so that the HA can decide what constitutes "annoyance" in any given scenario

They have signs everywhere in Florida if your walking by a park with water that to beware of Alligators and snakes. But don't worry you might not see them in the day time. There probably sleeping. They come out at night probably .

I grew up in this town. It's not as good as it seems. She is trying to sell it like its one of the places on earth. To be completely blunt It is a very close-knit Community, filled with drugs and Trauma. The generation that founded this place is long and gone. The show real house wives is much like this community if that says anything.
But also upper-crust is the best pizza place in town.
