- What the?!?!?
How the?!?!?
What originally was thought to never be available is here for this special Nostalgia Road Trip Special presentation.
Through the history of television, there have been cartoon shows that have come and gone, but this particular program is one that brings so much happy and memorable emotions to comic book fans all over the world who remember it and its characters.
Debuting in 1966, this would be the first TV series that would introduce children from all over the world to the MARVEL super heroes.
The series used the original comic stories largely in their entirety, showcasing artwork and characters created by now comic book legends like Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Bill Everett and Don Heck, as well as many others, from the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books.
Finding these have been difficult to track, as they have never been re-mastered or ever released in any form of dvd/blu-ray collection (aside from random VHS tapes in the mid 80s, but even in that never the completed set, but rather just 3 random episodes) But thanks to some digging and searching, they are available here (not all, but a good bit of them, at least)!
So till then, sit back....get the family together...and prepare to have a ball, because the Mighty Marvel Marathon is HERE!

Old School🔥🔥🔥👈
I'd get home, and my mother would have chili, sloppy Joe's ready. I'd do my homework, and watch these cartoons and then the 3 Stooges would come on👈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those were good days.
Thank you so much for bringing back these memories......😏
That sounds like a great time tbh!
same for me
For a real treat maybe some Shake-n-bake chicken.
@@MrSneaksful Oh heck yea haha, that is so nostalgic for me!
I was a Marvel comic book fanatic since I was 5. I'm now in my 70s and still enjoy them today. These episodes of Cap, Thor, Submariner and my main character the Hulk or a part of my history and I am grateful to be able to view them today as I once did as a child.
Clint Eastwood's childhood super hero was Namor meanwhile his son wants to be Wolverine.
Meanwhile Araki, creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga, modeled Jotaro Kujo, hero or the third arc, after Clint Eastwood.
They actually met once and took a photo together.
Clint Eastwood was approached to play Superman in the 70s but turned it down, favoring more grounded roles.
Wow, I'm glad to see I'm not alone in this. I'm 60 myself and grew up with these cartoons and comics superheroes. From time to time, whenever life becomes a bit too much, I guenuinely enjoy to indulge in these sacred pleasures from the past. And like you, I enjoy it just as much as I used to, for many many reasons. Good day to you, Herbert !
I love the theme songs to all the heroes
Artists Don Heck, Jack Kirby (who met)and John Bynye( met him too). These toons still show their greatness. Hail Marvel,,,
@@rsviews2167 I'm also 60, and love these cartoons for the same reasons. Also, the 1967 Spider-Man. I never saw Spider-Man as a High School kid. To me, he was in his twenties
The fact that jack kirby didn't become rich just from these cartoons is criminal.
You thinking that money is the measure of creativity is criminal.
@@TheWinterShadow you are severely misinformed. read up on jack kirby and the work he had to do later in life to support his family. also please go troll elsewhere little troll. you're not even worth the 20 seconds it took me to reply to you. Excelsior!
@@TheWinterShadow That is not at all what he is stating.
More than criminal!
jack kirby was a hero......to start it and then went to dc comics and got jip over there too....but atleast his name was on dc comics more then marvel....but i do agree with you......look at how they did bill finger too......but always remember jack was a absolute genius drawer.....i want to thank him for drawing black panther 1966
I used to run home from school to watch. People call these primitive and everything but these are actually motion comics .
yep
These are the good stuff! I used to love watching these. Now watching the MCU is really a surreal experience!

Only got these visiting my dad, for some reason they were on at 6am. I never missed an episode
@@AldousHuxleysCat, that's what I remember.
And it only came on once a week.
Still better than 99% of cartoon today; excellent!
damn right!
Let's not exaggerate.... 😏
@@Anth230 Not really an exaggeration by any means. I watch cartoons from before when I was born over majority of crap nowadays.

Racist & misogynistic!!! Give me woke marvel any day over these gullible, white coded escapades!!!
@@BLACKMASKSOUL491…this wasn’t even that era, this came after that era

Exactly, and dangerous propaganda had no place.
Further proof of Jack Kirbys GENIUS: his static comics artwork translates seamlessly as animation
WSNS TV channel 44 Chicago. This was the noise of my childhood. We all ran home at lunch time or after school to watch this. I had a paper route. Customers had to wait. Afterwards came Ralph Bakshi's Spiderman and George Reeve's Superman. What a time to be alive. Jack Kirby, John Vernon, the voice of Iron Man, and Chris Wiggins, the voice of Thor. I developed public speaking skills listening to these articulate actors.
Same here in Chicago channel 44.
sames! I would also watch the cartoons on WGN 9 on Sunday mornings. They had good stuff plus things like Secret Agent Man and Stingray and Thunderbirds. Damn good times!

I used to watch these with my dad as a kid in the 80’s and I thought the animation was so bad. Now as an adult comic collector I actually have some of these comics. The stories and voices are amazing. I turned 44 this Friday and I spent the entire day watching the whole 6 hour plus video. My dad is gone and my older brother is gone and all I have are the memories. Thank you for taking me back to a special time when I was a kid. I’ll definitely watch this marathon over and over. Next up is the FF marathon!
Back in the day, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby had a great vision for Marvel Comics. Watched these cartoons since 4 years old. CLASSIC ❤
Too bad stan lee ripped off all of his artist
Ran home every day after school to watch these ☺
John Vernon that voice is so recognizable, great actor as well as a voice actor for Namor, Tony Stark, and Major Talbot.
The coolest part being Jack Kirby's art come to life, even in rough fashion. Eventually we'll see an entire movie or show computer-generated in the styles of our favorite comic artists...
this was our favorite/legendary artists art come to life
I have a tee shirt featuring the cover of Avengers #4, when Captain America was found and 'defrosted'. I had the actual comic back in the 60's, so it brings back happy memories. Jack Kirby's art might seem crude by modern standards but no one could convey the atmosphere or drama of a scene like he could. His 'space collages' were wondrous, andhad a photographic quality. Action scenes were genuinely exciting, while Ditko specialised in surrealist backdrops (Doctor Strange especially).
DC, on the other hand, was quite conservative in its approach, relying on familiarity and the occasional oddball story.
And Kirby’s family still won’t be compensated…
@@Neil070 King Kirby.
Apparently, this cartoon was a cause in rift between the artists who worked on the original comic panels whose art were “modified” to fit a TV format and Marvel. None of the original artists were compensated for these shorts.
Loved these growing up. Born in 1970, better than the crap on TV now
The marvel superheroes came out in 1966 I was 11 years old and I’ve loved it ever since
thank you for taking the time to watch

I watched all these shows as a kid and now they are awesome
Same Mike. I'd watch these shows and then collected the comics. Had Hulk #3 and a friend asked to read it. Never got it back. Never lent out anymore. Loved Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Silver Surfer, Sub Mariner and Spidey. Sold my collection in 2015 for a nice tidy price.
I remember watching this show back in the 60s I had to have been about 5 years old at the time.
We watched them as kids, and we thought they sucked. Watched the entire series again and that opinion is even more reinforced.
When I was a kid I watch this show on WXON TV2O DETROITin the 70s and after that was SPIDER-MAN .You dug up some classic treasures from m'y childhood. I hope you have the bumpers included as well. The late STAN LEE would be proud what you truly accomplished. EXCELSIOR!!!!!
that means alot, thank you
The way this cartoon made it almost looks like Jack Kirby's art.
Don’t forget ULTRAMAN, and then over to CH. 50 for Speed Racer, and Battle of the Planets...!
@@roxannestorm2616 … actually,., it is his art! They used panels from the comic book themselves!😊
@@Leadeshipcoach oh okay
GOOD GOD! THEY DON'T MAKE'EM LIKE THIS ANYMORE! THE OLD CARTOONS ARE THE BEST CARTOONS. GREAT COMICS I ❤
I am 50 years old and watching these for the first time!
To see the comic-book art of the immortal Jack Kirby, animated in this way, is absolutely glorious.
I remember watching this cartoon as a kid in mid 1970s
2:33 “identify yourselves to my satisfaction or die”… daaaamn! And this was a cartoon meant for kids… badass line
Kids back then were tougher than most adults today who can't even handle a different opinion.
Yeah, instead of "die" they usually say "I'll destroy you". Check out how violent live action Ultraman was back then. Good times
These cartoons were the heart of what Marvel comics was all about awesome!

Captain America instilled a sense of patriarchal pride in our Great, free country AMERICA!! God bless our flag, old glory, and God bless our country!! Blessings
Of course, cap stood for true patritism!!
Nothing patriarchal at all. It seems that you know the meaning of patriarchy as much as a feminist.

Oh please someone invent a Time Machine I want to go back to this simpler times
Back in the mid 60's I was in grade school living in NYC and my classmate would bring all these Captain America comic books to school I would look at some of them on my lunch break , I will never forget those Marvel comic books it was a part of my child hood.
We used to watch these cartoons in El Salvador back in the late 70's before the civil war started to rage out of control!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS COLLECTION OF CLASSIC CARTOONS!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR BRINGING BACK ALL OF THESE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately we never saw the cartoons in the UK.
This show started it all for Marvel
I watched this show on the first run in the 60s I also had all the gum cards and a few comics .. I now have all the episodes on dvd

These are amazing, admittedly primitive compared to what comes after, I heard of these but never saw them until now, I feel like it's Saturday morning and I'm sitting on the floor of the living room with my cereal bowl
Look how far Stan Lee came from this. What a huge accomplishment. RIP to Stan da man!! Love that guy with all his comic books that helped me excel in reading and Comprehension.
Yes indeed, made me a better person and well read. I wish I met Stan to tell him Thank you.
Great restorations! And even with the limited animation, these are still the best Marvel cartoons ever. 🥂
Agreed, the artwork and the plots. They kept things tight back in the day. The cartoons nowadays are more of the company making political statements
@@michaelr.grimmer6660 True! These were stories straight from the books, I used to collect all the 1960s era Kirby art books (they were destroyed in a basement flood 😤) and the cartoons were the same as the books I had.

I'm 60 I remember watching these episodes of Captain America, Ironman, Hulk, Thor and Sub-Mariner as a kid along with the 1967 Spider-man episodes which I have on DVD. I wish I could get the original collection of these episodes on DVD
We used to watch these after school back in the late-1960's...they would show 2 episodes each day, with 4 episodes typically needed to close the story. The cliffhanger after the first 2 episodes always had us coming back to watch!
The comics back then were .12cents, and lady who was our babysitter had older kids who had many of the Marvel comics that these cartoons were based on...I became a collector because of all of this!
Thank you for putting these great memories on UA-cam! 🙂
I'll take these comic book Avengers over the recent movie remakes any day.
Channel 11 and channel 9 would show these cartoon masterpieces around 3:30 after school which I would faithfully watch with glee and my snack. I am so glad I grew up in that memorable, nostalgic era in time! Blessings
Iron Man/Tony Stark, The Sub-Mariner and Major Talbot were voiced by John Vernon, best known for playing Dean Vernon in the movie Animal House and the mayor in Dirty Harry. He also lent his voice to the 1981 animated film Heavy Metal, during the Captain Stern segment as the prosecutor and also as the voice of criminal Rupert Thorne on Batman: The Animated Series.
I love 1960's/70's cartoons.😊

Back when I was in the 5th grade that was the year when the marvel super heroes came on t.v ,and I would watch the cartoons every day after school. How I miss these old cartoons.
The narration is by John Vernon, more noted as Dean Wormer from Animal House. Double secret probation for Red Skull!
The narrator was Bernard Cowan. John Vernon voiced Iron Man and his alter ego Tony Stark, Prince Namor of Atlantis aka the Sub-Mariner, Major Curtis in the Captain America stories, Major Glenn Talbot in the Incredible Hulk stories and some additional voices.
