I have a pallet of black Berkey filters on order. I have Berkey systems but not black Berkey filters in stock. Please check back in a few weeks for black Berkey filters.
Is it safe to get plastic Berkey vs metal ¿ how long filters last for one person…..any advice for new buyer on budget 😂¿ trying to figure out differences between these different containers& black white filters ¿ . (I’m in Seattle, currently using zerowater pitcher)
@@thuandao4243 If you are on a budget you should know you are buying the most expensive filters on the market, ZeroWater. You might want to calculate how much you pay per gallon using those filters. It only costs $0.02 per gallon with Berkey black filters. The Berkey Light (it is light weight because it is made out of food grade plastic) is a great way to save money and get the great filtered water. Go to LDSPrepperStore.com to place your order. I have a 562 of them in stock.
@@LDSPrepper thanks brother, I appreciate your advice…sadly I don’t replace filters sooner bc it’s expensive than container, just need to know why there different models function besides obvious sizes . But I’ll definitely ck your site , glad I didn’t buy from amz.
@@freeatlast1423 I also give my cat and dog Berkey water. They love it! I think, like me, they drink more water because Berkey water is more refreshing due to the beneficial minerals.
Can't get the black filters anywhere. It appears all dealers have them "on order", even our local prwp store. Seems like there's more going on. Supply is not meeting demand.
My Berkey Royal arrived a few days ago from LDS prepper store. It was so quick delivery, thank You so much ❤ i will order 2 pair of Black filters when its available
What filters are you using now that the black Berkeys are not available and are they made in US? Have you talked about these filters and what their performance is?
Why would anyone buy a Berkey that is 2x or more higher in price and not even have access to the infamous black filters? At me time Berkey was one of very few systems of its kind. Today there are so many to choose from. Don’t forget most filters are interchangeable with other systems that are stainless steel and made just as well if not better than Berkey. Times have changed check other systems out and save lots of money for an equivalent water system
We were told by our Berkey sales dept that when we are going to be gone (two weeks) to store our Black Berkey Filters in a baggie standing up in the Fridge. What do you think?
Thank you for commenting. I could see where you might think that but the materials used are porous and ridge so they don't contract and expand like a sponge might.
In defense of the myth, leaving an empty wet Berkey with lid on for 17 days won't allow enough evaporation from inside to actually dry out the filter. Lid off for 17 days might result in dry filters. 2nd Experiment on your next travels?
Thank you David! Curious what the status is for ordering more black berkey filters from your LDS prepper store, please give us an update. We need to order more filters.
Some brands of water filters do not work once they get dried out. That is not the case with the black Berkey filters. If they dry out simply prime them.
@@LDSPrepper Interesting, I have never ran across that. I'm really curious of the science behind that as it kind of goes against my knowledge of how filters work. Is there a brand you know of that I can look into?
@@tradermunky1998 If you want to research it you can just look for a water filter that comes in a liquid solution in a bag. Once it is dried out it can not be primed again. Or you could simply get the best filter on the market, the black Berkey purifier at LDSPrepperStore.com
@@LDSPrepper I’m thinking 🤔 inside the filter…where you can’t see??? The reason I am wondering, is because I took mine apart when I moved 2 years ago, and never did put it back together. (I have another type I’m currently using, but it requires filling up more often.) Anyway I want to get it out and use it, but I wasn’t sure if I can use my black filters or if I have to buy new ones? @@CavMom2 Mold is a fungus. The black filter has silver in it so mold, fungus, bacteria, etc won't grow inside a black Berkey filter. They do in other filters, possibly in the one you are using now. Yeah Berkey is just fine. We use ours everyday. Even the cat gets Berkey water! 🐈 💧
Only give Berkey water to those you love. 😀
My dogs only get Berkey water. And, I have been gone on vacations for 2xwewks and had no need to prime the filters when I returned.

Just a little clue, that's what the Berkey directions day will happen so don't do that. And you're a dealer? Dang bra.
I would have thought the issue would be that when it dries, it would shrink and crack. Maybe it would be worth trying the red dye test again now.

Does this remove any hard water also?

I could do that, but I know what I did that worked. "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." 😀

Good question. After 18 days there was no mold on the filters or in the upper or lower chambers.

Couldn’t you put filters in the refrigerator if not using for an extended period, to prevent mold?
