I play for a living in a symphony orchestra. We had closed out our season with a Mahler 2 series that was smoking, so I was excited to hear Crown's arrangement and playing of this first part of the show. It was electrifying! This is my favorite modern-era DCI show. The tubas playing the bass theme… spread out like that… just wow!
Listening to this makes me realized how good they are at playing. It sounds almost exactly to the recording. For half of the show I thought it was the show but on a frame so they don’t get copyrighted
The theme is essentially "a second chance". Theres a guard girl that members of the hornline are trying to get a second chance with and that shows up multiple times throughout the show. She ends up with the green dude from last years show. The music is also only second movements and they march the drill of the closer from last year. Pretty neat stuff
I completely understand that a member had a gruesome injury near the end of this show, but what I've always wondered is if the musical program always had the pre recorded rewind sound there or did that become a permanent feature due to the inability to show the injury? Can anyone educate me on this?
The fact that the first minute was so together goes to show you how hard that was to pull off on the field. Great show!
These first 2-3 minutes get me goosebumps every time lmaoo
Underrated crown show imo
I came back to this show about a month ago and I can agree.
HIGHLY underrated!
The fact that they have Mahler is so cool, probably why this is my favorite dci show.

Always an epic performance from truly passionate musical enthusiasts!!!! VERY EMOTIONAL EVERY TIME I HEAR/See them perform.
This is perfect for me
Wow 😳
Was this like a sequel to their 2009 show?

@@bnd0116 ohhhh ok. now that I know that this show just got a lot cooler to me
More like a second chance at 2008. Classical music. Similar concept, 2nd mvts vs finales.
I really want the transcription for this, specifically 3:32
Why just the audio? Teaser !
5:02

It was a part of the show for the season. It's a play on "A Second Chance," giving them a second chance at the closer hit.
From what I understand they spliced in the video from semifinals on the finals recording.
