Quick question. I'm not a Disco hater or lover and it may be sacrilegious to some, but is this Disco (or as close to it as the Dead came)? Without too much criticism and judgement. I used to pass over most of Shakedown street and it's nice to see that I could come around to really love new songs after a deep dive in almost two years ago. About the disco connotations, the subject matter fits, the date as well. Just something I been meaning to ask those more wise than I. Not that is has any bearing, but KISS had a full disco album years earlier, so not too farfetched right?
Methinks that this might be the version of "Dancing in the Street" that Van Halen based their cover off of.

Oh, I think Jerry and the boys heard all the disco crap playing , and said,

A better example is 'Shakedown Street. '
Its funny to me, cuz in the 60's almost every "square" act jumped on the psychedelic bandwagon, whereas in the 70's all the hip bands sold their souls to disco.
