Just put the 40 series rock crushers on my summit and it looks great!! Thanks for the idea! Please post more videos of your summit with the ROCK CRUSHERS
Thanks for your kind anwser.I've to apologetic about my poor English listening. I'm from Taiwan, and I have three 1/10 summits too.Two have regular motor, and otherone has RX8 on it.Summit is a nice, fun R/C car.My two cute boys and I all love it.Thanks again,swezy207. ohm....I'm Richard,by the way.it's so nice to watch you sharing.
I have that same motor in my Hyper-10 SC. I love it. It really packs a punch. If your truck is wheelying so much, you should gear up a bit on the pinion. The motor can obviously take it. And I'd tighten that slipper clutch all the way down. The more it slips, the more you'll keep burning them out. The drive train will handle it just fine. If anything needs to give, it'll be the tires slipping a bit instead of your slipper clutch. Same effect, less damage. Nice truck, though!!
Hot Racing makes the 6 pad "double up" slipper. You will need 2 sets of traxxas slipper pads to put on it, Im going with the HD pads again, they worked well for a while for me. Im going to order mine pretty soon.
I did upgrade my slipper to the HD Traxxas one. It has worked well... until the last outing. It started slipping pretty bad by the end of the day. I heard there is a slipper with 6 pads instead of 3, I might try that one next.
Wow...that motor is pushing a ton of power. You need to firm up the rear shocks. You see it squat big under throttle and its causing you to have the truck flip. If you leave the shocks that way, you need to add some weight to the front end. A friend used some melted down 2oz fishing weights on his. Think he has 4-5 melted into a rectangle. Then he mounted them up front slightly behind the bumper. He also tuned his shocks a bit firmer than out of the box. His truck still squats but settles down very fast and it is alot harder to flip. And a plus to the weight in the front (minus less flipping) is he can crawl stuff better. The weight causes the nose to dip when climbing. Thus it makes things like the parking block you went over faster and easier with a ton more control. As it makes the front dip on stuff like that so you cant get high centered easily...seeing the nose dips, the front wheels make contact on the ground at almost the same time as the back wheels come off the ground. Meaning constant traction an less chance of getting hung.
wow man great work, your summit looks bloody awesome!!! love the paint and dam those tires are shimmy!!! i gunna get some for my summit... thumbs up mate, subbed too
That thing is awesome. Very fast looking. You need to put a wheelie bar on it so you can rip it high speed without having to worry about the car flipping over.
In this video, I am running stock gearing. Since then, I put a 17t pinion on it. It is crazy fast with a ton of power. Wheelies on demand any speed. Im used to crawlers, so I have to get use to such a touchy throttle.
Ive gone up from a 17t pinion to a 20t pinion... works a little better, more top speed but will still wheelie anytime I want it to. I also upgraded to a HD slipper thats tightened all the way, and since have snapped two axle shafts.... so... I got MIP axles.
Ive gotten alot better at driving it, you just have to have a soft trigger finger... Im used to full throttle with my crawlers, so I had to teach myself to ease into it, and be light on the throttle. It is now a blast to drive.
thanks for the info, much appreciated. I was just checking those out seem to be well priced and lots of good reviews, I think the 7.4 7600mah 40-80c 2s looks good for now until I get a better esc. But when I get that I want as much juice to that dewalt as I can, don't care if it wears brushes as they are cheap to replace and should be lots of fun. :)
who makes the 6 pack slipper, I'll give it a shot, each dewalt is 1650kv, that's a lot of torque and 6 sounds better than three, I grabbed the HD slipper spring from KD and might as well do it all at once
@TeamLik Yea, I have steel center drive shafts, I will get the others as they break... I know they will, but we'll see how long the stock ones last! Just got a 17t pinion to put in it, and im waiting on my new slipper. I'll make some more videos soon!
What kind of motor is in that summit iv got a summit too I want that motor man that was awesome on your summit and what kind of wheels do you have on your summit
hey I have a question as I just put 120 down on a summit from my.local hobby shop. did you have any overheating problems with the 7 s lipo and the r 8 motor and esc combo? and did you have to change your gearing?
@DJspiffyFISH actually if you know anything about batteries... series will double your voltage, which means it is 4s, and parallel will double your run time (mah).
NICE!! i have summit with brushless i fell love it! LAST LONG! brushed suck.. sorry i said that.. lol i have hard time to choose which kv for my summit 4s with 2250kv like your or 6s with 1550kv reason i think about 6s bec esc will running more easy than 4s bec of high amps (if right kv match 6s and keep under 40k rpm) also 6s will last long time play. right now i have tekin 2650kv on my summit 4s last 1.5 hour while 6s (with parallel) it last 4 hour and still can play more but i stop. so i am curious are u happy with 4s or maybe wish go to 6s? thanks!
To much power for the purpose of the SUMMIT - You better bought a e-revo... The stock motor setup is really great for crawling and light bashing. But I love the paint of the body!
Ive had a lot of request for more extreme terrain... these tires are horrible on most surfaces. I will try to get another video up in a week or two. Thanks for your interest!
I dont drive in water.... Its a mess afterwards anyway. Tires fill up with water, axles get crap wrapped around them. Im fine driving on dirt with ungodly power.
I have twisted both driveshafts, snapped 2 axles, melted the slipper 2 times, and I just destroyed my 3rd diff.... so yea, id say ive had some issues with the drivetrain. lol
It has stock gearing in this video. since then I have put a 17 tooth pinion in it. with such a powerfull motor I didnt lose any torque, I gained some top speed tho.
I dont know. I run both 2s batteries in series so that it is 4s. I have never run just one battery in it. While crawling or trailing around, I can go for maybe 2 hours, but with all that power, I cant just go slow the whole time! lol
150c (GOOD LORD!!) AND I LOOOVVEEE THE STOCK SETUP ON MY SUMMIT!!(THEN AGAIN IF I WANNA GO FAST I JUST,BRING OUT MY 6S EREVO(((((THE BEST 2 RC TO OWN(MOST/MOST OF THE PARTS YOU CAN SWITCH OUT;)
man you have the ultimate rc wish one day my summit ends up like yours. nice job on the rc its really badass.

Those are some of the best looking tires ive seen on a summit
Nice truck!! That is some crazy upgrades with the brushless system and the way too much power batteries, LoL!!!! Like the tires!!
Thats one fast summit!

Hey swezy I really like what you've done there u gave me a good idea of what I want when I get my summit thanks
Nice video. That Tekin sure makes a difference.
I did upgrade my slipper to the HD Traxxas one. It has worked well... until the last outing. It started slipping pretty bad by the end of the day. I heard there is a slipper with 6 pads instead of 3, I might try that one next.
I just ordered those tires for my Summit also! Can't wait to install them! :D

I like the body and tires dude
wow man great work, your summit looks bloody awesome!!! love the paint and dam those tires are shimmy!!! i gunna get some for my summit... thumbs up mate, subbed too
That car looks intimidating I like it
That is awesome. Gotta love Tekin systems. I loved the slow-mo stuff as well. :)
DUDE your paint job is the best ive seen. F'ING AWSOME
PS ooooohh nice batteries too!!!
I love those 40 series rock crushers that's one bad summit!
Nice truck, locked down slipper turned my shafts to licorice (with a 31 pinion), so I had to put mips on it also.
Military look is one of a kind that is for sure
Subscribed
I own a Wraith, currently not functional :( But I ordered the same beadlocks that you have on the Summit, looks very nice, glad I chose those :D
So now it's like those REAL monster trucks that shatter steel every time they go out!!
That thing is awesome. Very fast looking. You need to put a wheelie bar on it so you can rip it high speed without having to worry about the car flipping over.
So sorry. Didn't mean to posted that. Great truck. Tons of power.
yes, at speeds they will balloon. I dont know if they will balloon with a stock set up, but you WILL break stuff. drive line components.
havent gotten a new one yet... I burned up the stock one, and the Traxxas HD one. Im gonna try the 6 pad one from Hot Racing when I get some money.
Oh jeeze now i have to make one more comment. Your tires are sooo over the top!!! Im smitten.
I love the SUMMIT it´s the ultimate E-powered Monster! I have mine with HPI tires that look more scale. But the stock motoring.
Thanks bud I can't wait for more of your summit vids =)
you should try the HPI goliaths, im using them on mine with this same motor combo- they look sick and have nice traction
sick truck i want to build one of these eventually but gotta do the 1/5 scale thing first
This is the baaaaad ass looking summit ever, the tires and the military look body is awesome...
Thank you, I will have to give it a try. If I cant get it, maybe you could show me how... you seem like an expert.
don't have a Mamba Monster but from what I have heard it is about the same. The Tekin is smoother and has more control.
when can I expect more footage of that sweet summit
Thats a Knarley setup u got there bro. High dollar for sure. Looks great.

RC4WD. These are 40 series. I belive they make 2.2 and 1.9 also.
@cmijn1 yes, the RC4WD Rock Crushers will fit on the Axial oversize narrow wheels no modification.
@TeamLik Yea, I have steel center drive shafts, I will get the others as they break... I know they will, but we'll see how long the stock ones last! Just got a 17t pinion to put in it, and im waiting on my new slipper. I'll make some more videos soon!
Morris. Its about an hour south of Chicago.
because the power of T8 or MMM will tear apart the locking diffs especially with those tires.
great video one of the best man good job on it
Ahh you should tighten up just like an E-Revo Brushless. It got a lot of torque turn over.
I ordered these tires also, but they're still not in and it's been a month and a half! Ugh! I'm dying!
I'm not say keep it stock I'm saying the e-revo diffs will hold up alot better than the locking diffs.
I was thinking of doing that..... can you please make a video or pics of the slipper !!!!! please !!!!!!!!
I cant find the rc4wd rock crushers tires ... I want for my summit too ! Thx for reply .. Nice truck and vid ...
Nice Summit. Nice setup. What gearing are you running?
Love the paint job!
Is it possible to waterproof this setup?
YOU HAVE THE AWSOMMESS CAR EVERRRR!!!!!!
Holy huge tyres 👍🏾👍🏾
ton of power, plenty of speed. perfect.
Can u do more videos with this rc please
@cmijn1 These are the Axial Oversize Narrow Rockster Beadlock Wheels part #AX8071 for the black ones.
Also, sounds a lot more noisy than the standard motor/esc - is that the case?
You sure have got a lot of torque there though :)
What kind of motor is in that summit iv got a summit too I want that motor man that was awesome on your summit and what kind of wheels do you have on your summit
hey I have a question as I just put 120 down on a summit from my.local hobby shop. did you have any overheating problems with the 7 s lipo and the r 8 motor and esc combo? and did you have to change your gearing?
nice big tiers!! rc is cool

To much power for the purpose of the SUMMIT - You better bought a e-revo...
The stock motor setup is really great for crawling and light bashing. But I love the paint of the body!
Someone gets it
Dang that thing has balls to pick up the tires like that.
Is that stock gears and gearing? how much faster than stock setup..?..very nice
Ive had a lot of request for more extreme terrain... these tires are horrible on most surfaces. I will try to get another video up in a week or two. Thanks for your interest!
Daam nice wheels but are this 5 scale wheels or the hub fit perfect in the summit
Thats some nice power :D
Try running the Robinson Racing slipper clutch instead of traxxas and maybe you won't smoke it with all that power :P
awesome summit! what axial wheels are those? i cant find them and how much did they cost? did you order them offline?
how do u fix your slipper clutch? I bough a brand-new one and rebuild mine but its still slipping.. plz help !!!
nice rig. how have the locking diffs held up to all that POWA?
Cool vid why are you using a tekin rx8 i thought that set up is more for racers, i would think a mamba monster would be better
Don't know very much about tekin, but is that arround the same speed as a mamba monster
Damm cool vid. Gearing please?
I dont drive in water.... Its a mess afterwards anyway. Tires fill up with water, axles get crap wrapped around them. Im fine driving on dirt with ungodly power.
Thanks man. some people appreciate it!
I have twisted both driveshafts, snapped 2 axles, melted the slipper 2 times, and I just destroyed my 3rd diff.... so yea, id say ive had some issues with the drivetrain. lol
Those are huge next to that pop can, didn't realize they were that big.
I have a stock summit can I run the bigger tires like these
How does it crawl with the 2250 kv motor?
Hi there,I'm interested about the tire that you used.Could I have the model number or something details?
It has stock gearing in this video. since then I have put a 17 tooth pinion in it. with such a powerfull motor I didnt lose any torque, I gained some top speed tho.
where did you get the rock crushers from and what scale are they? i might get them for my wraith
I dont know. I run both 2s batteries in series so that it is 4s. I have never run just one battery in it. While crawling or trailing around, I can go for maybe 2 hours, but with all that power, I cant just go slow the whole time! lol
how do you like those tires? im running the same motor combo as you, what pinion size do you use with those tires?
hey bro, what other modifications you made? I'm new to this and really want my summit works as your summit. sorry for my english. thanks.
what gearing are you running? how are those batts holding up? I am installing the dewalt 14.4v and going to lipos asap
COOLEST SUMMIT EVER!!!!
I like your rig and the video. :thumbs up:
Great video no music
Turnigy nano techs are half the price of any lipo and everything I've heard about them says they are as good as any over priced lipo.
that thing is a rocket with those lipos
what brand would you suggest? I am looking into lipos, thanks
150c (GOOD LORD!!) AND I LOOOVVEEE THE STOCK SETUP ON MY SUMMIT!!(THEN AGAIN IF I WANNA GO FAST I JUST,BRING OUT MY 6S EREVO(((((THE BEST 2 RC TO OWN(MOST/MOST OF THE PARTS YOU CAN SWITCH OUT;)
Really nice great job .
What's the brand of the camo green spray paint?
Do they make you feel uncomfortable??
