This is so so good. It's also the perfect example of "there is no right or wrong way to mix a vocal". I see SO many people yapping on UA-cam saying "if you need more than 3 plugins for a vocal mix, you're doing something wrong". Professionals will do whatever it takes using whatever tools they have to get something feeling right. Sometimes that's a simple EQ and compressor, sometimes it's a 15 small stages of tweaking things until it's perfect. Leslie is a legend.
Yeah you right i see them 2 I think the hardware take's time also i think the plugins got better most of the studio's the use mic preamp to cl1b and the mux will be in box faster and easy and you can save preset not like the analoge you have to take photo
Not to sound like an asshole but if you made it past the first minute of the video... he talks about how he originally mixed this song at the height of COVID at home in his studio. Did the dirty version in headphones to not disturb his children lmao
Around 1:27 he said he mixed these records at his house. I’m sure lots of these engineers work on the go and these studios are rented out for making the videos look professional
Very good! However I do not understand the logic behind the AUD Fairchild, it has just reintroduced a load of bass back into the vocal which is what you were trying to remove?

Leslie shows it like it is Man 👏🏾
Why do these guys with so much analog equipment only work with plug-in replicas in these videos?
Yeah you right i see them 2

Because everyone has plugins.
Perhaps to make it more accessible for viewers

04:08 compressor doesn't work, the volume is turned up, or am I missing something?
He is just using it for color
leslie’s 🐐ed
Teach your children how to mix. The legacy lives on.
So simple but impactful 🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Can we get a full video? coz we love to learn please

Would’ve loved to see him pop it out of solo
wow this is gold fr..
Is there any mention of vocal automation before hitting vocal chain?
How much are the vocals are actually real? What is a picture? Is this why when you listening to artists live it just doesn't feel as good?
What does it mean when mixing clean records first then doing the dirty vocals.
Clean version for radio dirty version has bad words
Beautiful
The most plugins ive ever seen in a Leslie session lol
How did you help with her wiping problem? With the nails and all.
Leslie needs to learn control click on plugins
I got a question? Is 35 too old and too late to get into the audio engineering field!
Absolutely not! If Dave Pensado can start his mixing journey in his 30’s after years as a musician, so can you.
Of course not since production is a behind the scenes job, nobody cares about the producer's image.
Tricky though not impossible but you definitely can't part time it. It has 2 be everyday all day to make it in time.
No.
3:05 tamed her “S” just a bit
Bus to the Bus to the Bus. At least I don't feel crazy doing the same all these years
Great
"Instantly, she's in your face"
Yeah let's just use 100 plugins while the hardware wastes electricity in the bg.
Is that his personal studio? He can only use those if it’s his personal studio
That studio is Rue Boyer in paris, not his place, not where he mixed.
the 100 plugins also requires a high performance CPU that'll eat electricity too lol
I don't like plums...never did..peaches are alright tho ..shrugs
First to like and comment!🙌
🥇
keep this trash away from your daughters lmao
great work but small UA-camrs can do a better job!
The textbook definition of polishing a turd.
Trash in, trash out.
Imagine being proud of mixing this trash music. 😂 pay day must be nice
Nothing to be proud of.
I'm so sorry.
