  • The method work but at the scrapyard you need to find an ECU from a car that have the same hardware specs like the car that you are trying to fix.
In my case I bought 2 used ECU's from the scrapyard do the same procedure on both of them and I was able to start the car and drive it with no issue.
The only thing is that 1 ECU was from the same car as mine but that car run K9K706 82HP engine and my car is running K9K700 65HP engine.
With this ECU the engine run but when you accelerate you can hear the injectors rattling. Driving with it could lead to injectors damage and other isssus. Also the differences that I found between K9K700 (65HP) and K9K706 (82HP) are listed below:
    65 bhp version:
No blue letters in the word DCI on the sidestrip.
    No intercooler.
    Turbo is a 5435 970 0000 Borg warner K series.
JB3 gearbox pretty much same as 1.6 16v.
    Engine codes - K9K 704, K9K 700
OVAL PLATE CB07 (Inside of drivers door)
Standard Turbo Boost Pressure = 1 Bar (14.5psi)
    Standard Fuel Pressure = 1400psi
    No intercooler
    80 bhp version:
Blue I in the word DCI on the sidestrip.
Large Intercooler located infront of the radiator.
Injectors 15% more efficient than 65's.
    Slightly different turbo to 65 (5435 970 0002 Borg warner K series).
JC5 gearbox pretty much same as 2.0 16v. From 2004 onwards JH3 and JR5 boxes were also fitted.
    Engine code - K9K 702
    OVAL PLATE CB08
Standard Turbo Boost Pressure = 1.2 Bar (17.4psi)
    Standard Fuel Pressure = 1400psi
    100 bhp version:
Blue CI in the word DCI on the sidestrip.
Small fat intercooler (17% more efficient than 80 ic). Located infront of the radiator at the bottom.
    Same injectors as 80.
Same fuel pump as 65 & 80 but runs at 1600 bar
Again, more efficient, variable geometry turbo (5439 970 0030 Borg warner K series)
Different block and head and different injection set up to 65 & 80 with the 100 having a stronger crank, stronger rods and pistons.
Inlets on the head are bigger, different cam and ex manifold.
Gearstick, reverse is down and right as opposed to up and left with the lift.
Gearbox is a JR5 120. (5 Speed box as fitted to petrol lagunas, no renault 6 speed box fits!)
    Engine code - K9K 712.
    OVAL PLATE CB2G
Standard Turbo Boost Pressure = 1.25 Bar (18.1psi)
    Standard Fuel Pressure = 1600psi
So even If both ECU's have the same numbers like my car original ECU the software written in them is different according to each car trim, engine power etc.
To remap the second scrapyard ECU from K9K706 to K9K700 I managed to do it with Kess V2 see the description of this video • Renault Symbol I / Tha... .
Best way is to repair your car original ECU or if is not possible to recover it by reading FLASH 29F200BB and EEPROM 95080 then find a person who can write them in a spare ECU with the same numbers that you took from the scrapyard.
    Tools used in this tutorial:
    - Letcon
    - CH341A with SOIC 8 Pin Clamp programmer modded for 5V to read eeprom
    - AsProgrammer for reading / writing the ECU eeprom
    - AeTool for virginize the ECU eerpom
    - Autocom 2021.11 diagnosis software
    - Delphi DS150E (2 PCB version) VCI

      Hello,
DCM1.2 I think it use a different EEPROM and not 95080 like DDCR use. In rest clone process from what I've quickly read online should be the same.
You need to extract both EEPROM and FLASH from the DCM1.2 ECU then flash them in another ECU that have the same part numbers.
For my car I fixed my ECU that came with the car from factory and managed to clone it also on the other ECU that was from the same car but different engine code (82HP and not 65HP).
Here are the steps that I used to clone my car original ECU to another ECU took from scrapyard:
      1. Read original car ECU with Kess V2 (file size 256KB the 29F200 flash memory of the ECU)
      2. Cut the back of the car original ECU to read the EEPROM (file size 1KB the 95080 memory chip)
      3. Cut the back of the scrapyard ECU to read the EEPROM
      4. With AeTool virginize the scrapyard ECU EEPROM
      5. Write the virginized EEPROM (from step 4) into the scrapyard ECU
      6. Install the scrapyard ECU on the car then ignition on
      7. Ignition off wait for a few minutes then start the car
      8. Read the scrapyard ECU with Kess v2 to have a backup in case if something goes wrong
      9. Write in the scrapyard ECU the file read (at step 1) from the car original ECU with Kess v2
      10. Ignition on after the write of the ECU is completed the preheater light should stay on. Is expected don' try to start the car it will not work.
      11. Remove the scrapyard ECU from the car and write into it's EEPROM the file read (at step 2) from car original ECU.
      12. Reinstall the scrapyard ECU on the car and it should start with no issues.
Write of the ECU Flash IC I did it via OBD connector using KessV2 clone. Not sure if KessV2 can handle the Flash IC write via OBD2 for DCM1.2
For cutting the back of the ECU search on google images to see where the EEPROM IC is located and use the soldering iron to cut the plastic like I did in the video.
Some people use power tools like Dremel but I wanted to be on the safe side since if my soldering iron touch the PCB it will not damage the parts like a Dremel cut could do it in just fraction of second.
I think the FLASH IC of DCM1.2 is ST10F280 and EEPROM is 95160. Also DCM1.2 I think was introduced with EURO 4 K9Ks so you need to rewrite the injectors codes if you choose to virginize another ECU with the same numers the accelerator pedal will not work and you will have a high idle RPM. If you clone it I think coding the injectors is not needed since you dump both ICs Flash and EEPROM and overwrite the ones from the spare ECU.
