yeah, but fed wasnt too competitive on clay until the next year, not sure what happened in 04, i think his best shot aside from 09, obviously which he won, was 2011, he was playing phenomenal, but of course blew his early lead
fed lost to Gustavo Kuerten in like the second round, straight sets I believe... more clay "specialists" in that period and Argentina was a powerhouse, Nalbandian, Coria, and Gaudio all made the semifinals in 04.... I wouldnt say 04 was Feds best shot, it was actually one of his worst french opens...

Gastón Gaudio was the one who once dared to say that Federer's one-handed backhand was horrible and that he would never have a future. Proud, arrogant and mouthy, typical of an Argentine. Today Federer is remembered and respected and will forever be in the annals of men's tennis history. IMHO!
Wow, I have never seen this match! Plus I have never seen Federer play with long sleeves 😅
style of clothes then was much more "Baggy"....
Talento + Talento = Partidazo!!
Gaudio vs Ferrer Roland Garros 2005, please
i love one handed backhand players
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.

2004 was Fed's best shot at RG, can't believe Gaudio won it this year when Fed is by far the more complete player in this year.
He won in 2009...

He had a decent chance that year it's just he came up against a Wiley old veteran in Kuerten and had a bad match.
@@bsrussian he was at his peak. Not competitive?🤣. I am sure there were other tennis players around , not just fed
apparently Fed had a fisical advantage you can see Gaudio doing his last effords in the last games
Nice . Do u have Federer vs Coria Hamburg 2005 in decent quality?
2004
Fran Cisco they played in 2005 too
What was the temp!? Got Federer out here with a long sleeve

@@emailvonsour Gracias!
Stanislas one handed backhand
revés - reveses? ok
gracias gracias gracias🙏🖐️
The closest Gaudio ever come to beat Federer!
That would be Canada 2003.
Coria ganó algún Master 1000?
Si. 3 o 4
Monte Carlo y Hamburgo
The commentator says from Gaudio: can't never be a good player with that weak mental....and that year won Roland Garros....

Well... Gaudio had one of the best backhands ever, so he was in a way entitled to say that

Pobre gaudio 😫😫😫😫😫
