I know you’re trying to be funny and I don’t know his history, but as a foster parent I would recognize eating “like that” as food insecurity - meaning food was scarce or if you didn’t eat fast you didn’t get to eat.
Maybe people even took food from you. But I don’t really recognize that in him…interesting observation.

I agree. Del Taco for the win, though Taco Bell is still good. The Del Taco mild sauce is a bit more tomato(ish). Might have to try the Del Taco with Taco Bell sauce. :)

Here in Minneapolis, MN we didn’t have 2 of the 3 you taste tested. Just have Taco Bell. The thing is we have tons of other taco places that are just as good or better. We are by no means in a taco drought!

always fun to watch your take on food. since i have had some experience in research, when i read these lists, i first look for the statement on what was selected as deciding factors. i do not think you have that on hand. sooooooo what did the two of you use as your deciding factors? might want to state in the beginning of your next food comparison. also, i was once told in a survey of professional chefs asking where they go to eat after work, taco bell and their tacos was number one choice.
We have followed you for quite awhile!! Love your videos. We are in Utah, soooo lots of places not open to day.... We tried your challenge we love tacos!! Tried 2, but wondered about 1 also to compete.. Taco Time. I know they didn't make the list it sounds like. BUT still wondering what you think :) Oh and R&R BBQ... what a call!! Love it.

You tempt your viewers! I had to go to Taco Bell for the pizza after seeing your vid. I haven't been to one in 10 years+. Now I have to go to Del Taco the next time I'm passing through Barstow!
Hi Derek and Catherine, I agree with you that Del Taco tacos are bar none the best of the three that you critiqued. I go to Del Taco often and they seem to be closer to authentic Mexican food and you can definitely taste the fresher ingredients. Having been raised on Mexican food at home with my Hispanic roots they are just more delicious, and the tomatoes give you that fresh taste and their chili packets don't taste bitter like Taco Bell.
Street Taco's are my only goto
Las Vegas is lucky to have such a variety of restaurants.
i love del taco, del taco by mgm was really good! i also tried a del taco drive thru near the strip, good also. the del taco in LA was not as fresh ingredients as LV. We don't hv del taco in my state so taco bell it is. Also taco time in washington state is good! love your review, thank you! 🌮

I’ve never tried Del Taco, but I will now! Thanks! And by the way, you can get tomatoes on your taco, plus sour cream, at Taco Bell, it’s called a Supreme. That’s my usual Mexican fast food.
I like Sharky’s on blue diamond. They got grass-fed meat, fried fish tacos and a salsa bar. Happy hour 2-5.
Chipotle also has tacos. I usually order a bowl and crunchy shell tacos on the side. The Queso is 💣
Maybe I will get to try Del Taco when I return to Vegas next year. Surprisingly, there are only 4 Del Taco locations in the entire state of Florida, with 3 of them being in the Orlando area. While it's under a two hour drive from where I live, I actually get to Vegas more often than I drive to Orlando. I may have to try Taco Bell's crunchy taco based on Derek's (facial) review. 😁 Thanks for the fast food taco review.

The Del Taco in Barstow is the best!!! I always get the bun taco when we pass through.
Del Taco used to give onions for free when you asked, but now they charge like .50 more for EACH item. They also used to have better prices than Taco Bell, but Del got rid of the $6 box combos and the Dollar Menu.

People who don't know eat hardshell tacos and WonderBread. Pollo Loco had real, identifiable meat; the other? Meh - mystery meat. Great vid!

The Del Taco in Barstow California is even better than the "regular" Del Taco Tacos. Reason is the franchise let the original owner keep his recipe from the 70s. There more beef and cheese than regular Del Tacos.

El Pollo Loco tacos are good because everything is fresh.
One of Taco Bell's meat ingredients is rehydrated cellulose, aka wood pulp.
Del Taco...you actually get your money's worth; the superior taco. Kudos to Taco Bell for many college drunk/buzzed memories.

El Pollo Loco had crunchy chicken tacos at one time. And last month they had Birria hard shell tacos. However, I do like "The Del Taco" one a lot. p.s. I like Derek trying to "one bite" his hard shell taco..lol :)
Quest for Fire Derek just annihilated that Taco Bell taco in 3 bites!...........then on the Del Taco the sauce on his chin looks like he bit into a live pterodactyl ......had me rolling with laughter...great reviews.
We only have Taco Bell here but we have many more family owned Mexican restaurants and Puerto Rican sandwich shops.

The crunchy barria tacos at El Pollo Loco are really good. BUT!! They're 10 dollars for two. Del Taco is good as well.
