Share market has given a thumbs up to GDP figure. Everybody should respect the combined wisdom of sharemarket. Few people has their own agenda, for decent.
There should not be any double speaking. There is no doubt that sharemarket has appreciated the GDP figure. Few people always questioned the advancement of India in recenct years say Mr. Raghunath Rangarajan. He is a learned person, but his political affiliation overrides his acumen. It is not at all desirable.

Sir, You need to read the book "world without work" - very interestingly predict that with the AI, General public will be unemployed and industrialists would make super profits, because the machines may not ask for overtime, carry out the work with accuracy and speed, this will increase the productivity and efficiency. The governments will end up taxing the rich and distribute the money to unemployed by way of Social security, to avoid un-rest among the public.

And 8.4 is growth in GDP. So it means the same calculation was used since the last many quarters. If tax wasnt included then it wouldnt have been included even in the last quarter so the relative growth wouldve been the same.

I remember an incident, while working for an elite TATA company, one of our manager complained to the president against his immediate boss. He wrote an message to the HR, if an employee cannot have a happy coordination with his immidiate senior, then he is an insoluble person, which he is supposed to do being much junior to him. If his senior is not good, his boss will take suitable action. He was given marching orders same day with three months salary.
Guruji, New GDP calculations methodology was adopted in 2015. It wasn't changed after knowing tax collections are higher this quarter. And I am not arguing that it is the perfect way of calculating the GDP. However your disagreement, for lack of better word, with this quarter GDP number is not rational. I don't know what is your bias. Do you mean to say if the figure was 6.6 % as predicted by Bloomberg, it would have been acceptable to you regardless it still contains tax component. He told real reason behind GDP growth is due to revised gdp of last years quarter and this year last quarter. so they revised to lower GDP growth which gave base effect . Second companies not passed lower input cost to consumer rather they made higher profit and paid higher taxes to government which inflated in GDP number.

Everybody should respect the combined wisdom of sharemarket.
Few people has their own agenda, for decent.
The market has been making higher highs for 3 to 4 months,
There should not be any double speaking.
There is no doubt that sharemarket has appreciated the GDP figure.
Few people always questioned the advancement of India in recenct years say Mr. Raghunath Rangarajan. He is a learned person, but his political affiliation overrides his acumen. It is not at all desirable.

They're posting single digit growth only, it's good to see that government is giving incentives to corporates but that doesn't mean companies are going to benefit in the long term with it, you have to push the consumption market too, the unemployment rate is 42 years record high now, the inflation figures which shows by this government is purely fraud, we know what's happening on the ground level, the prices are sky rocketing, if our country's growth doesn't include the common man's growth as well that is not a growth in my perspective, everything is going one sided supporting corporates but who's going to support the common man?

Sir, You need to read the book "world without work" - very interestingly predict that with the AI, General public will be unemployed and industrialists would make super profits, because the machines may not ask for overtime, carry out the work with accuracy and speed, this will increase the productivity and efficiency. GDP (Gross Domestic Product): GDP is the most common measure of a country's economic output. It represents the total monetary value of all final goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific period (like a quarter or a year).
GVA (Gross Value Added): GVA is a more granular measure specifically focused on the value added at each stage of production. To calculate GVA, subtract the cost of intermediate goods (materials, etc.) from the value of the output. It's a closer representation of a sector's actual contribution to the economy.
The Discrepancy
The discrepancy between GDP and GVA arises because they include different components:
GDP = GVA + (Taxes on Products) - (Subsidies on Products)
In India, a discrepancy between GDP and GVA could indicate a couple of things:
Changes in Taxes and Subsidies: If the government increases taxes on products or reduces subsidies, GDP will rise even if the underlying economic activity (represented by GVA) hasn't changed dramatically. This can create a somewhat artificial inflation of the GDP figure.
FISIM: Financial Intermediation Services Indirectly Measured (FISIM) is a complex concept used in national accounts. It represents the implicit cost of financial services. Increasing prices for financial services can cause FISIM to increase, inflating GDP growth relative to GVA.
Why it Matters

Accurate Economic Picture: GVA often provides a more accurate idea about the underlying growth in different sectors of the economy, since it's not influenced by fluctuating taxes or subsidies.

Understanding Growth Drivers: Analyzing the gap between GDP and GVA can help identify areas where the government's tax and subsidy policies might be affecting the real economy.
In the context of India's growth, economists watch for this discrepancy to get a sense of whether the impressive GDP figure is backed by equally strong GVA growth, suggesting sustainable and healthy expansion across sectors.
And 8.4 is growth in GDP. So it means the same calculation was used since the last many quarters. If tax wasnt included then it wouldnt have been included even in the last quarter so the relative growth wouldve been the same.

I remember an incident, while working for an elite TATA company, one of our manager complained to the president against his immediate boss. He wrote an message to the HR, if an employee cannot have a happy coordination with his immidiate senior, then he is an insoluble person, which he is supposed to do being much junior to him. If his senior is not good, his boss will take suitable action. He was given marching orders same day with three months salary.

New GDP calculations methodology was adopted in 2015. It wasn't changed after knowing tax collections are higher this quarter. And I am not arguing that it is the perfect way of calculating the GDP. However your disagreement, for lack of better word, with this quarter GDP number is not rational. I don't know what is your bias.
Do you mean to say if the figure was 6.6 % as predicted by Bloomberg, it would have been acceptable to you regardless it still contains tax component. Guruji expect more rationality from you.

Economics question: Sir, if GDP is including GST as well then how can it be called real GDP growth? I assume GST growth reflects both inflation and consumption growth.
GST Growth will also include any increase in gst rate as well any new item brought under gst net.

He told real reason behind GDP growth is due to revised gdp of last years quarter and this year last quarter. so they revised to lower GDP growth which gave base effect . Second companies not passed lower input cost to consumer rather they made higher profit and paid higher taxes to government which inflated in GDP number.

I just had a thought that if you were to see the government services as a services for which we pay taxes, then technically the indirect taxes that are paid by us for all the services that the government providers, therefore in that it could be a part of consumption, maybe not direct, but either indirect consumption by the citizens of the service provided by the government.
