As a musician that abuses my hands all day the ergonomics of this device are why I bought it. That and the screen. Looking forward to receiving my RG556
I disagree with the performance enhance button. While playing Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth, the character entrance scenes were quite laggy. I played with Open DL/Vulcan, and other settings, no real improvement. Then I hit that performance button, and that lag was gone. I've had this unit for 2 days, and I am very happy with it
A bit misleading on the speccing out portion of your argument around the 10:00 mark. There is no spec difference between the colors of the RG556, all models of the 556 come with 128GB of internal storage. The extra options simply give you a preloaded SD card from Anbernic with a couple thousand games to plug n play with. This option is hardly if ever advised to be taken regardless since 1) that SD card they throw in is of horrendous quality that can and will fail on you and 2) the roms on it are poorly ripped or pirated that usually cause saving or emulation issues. So for all intents and purposes the only price point that should be compared is the baseline $185 with no card option.
As long as it doesn't have the long list of mechanical failures of the RP4 pro, then it's an insta win. It had better screen and ergonomics despite the inferior chip.
@@suhtangwongYou're lucky. My girlfriend had her right trigger broke on less than 48 hours. Her little bro broke in a week plus it had thermal heating issues. That and his screen got messed up. Like horizontal lines began appearing. It took him more than a month for retroid to respond. Then, there's reported issues of ghosting in screen, the fan working like a jet engine and bad thermals that makes it smell like burning. .
This will be my first device. Mucking around the emulators is half the fun!! I picked mine up for 170 shipped, so it slots even better price wise. Hoping these eyes can see that tiny screen through my gigantic paws.😅 Good video, thought you were fair in your critiques. I don't think you touched on ergonomics but that was a big factor for me. RP4 looks like it squeezes you wrists in to hold and get to the analog sticks. I can only see this in videos but it looks uncomfortable.
I touched on the ergonomics briefly my thoughts were they’re pretty good one of my favorite economic designs, especially when you compare it to something like the RP4 which has fuck all for ergonomics

I would only pay extra for the 256g because it comes preinstalled with games. The Retroid pocket or any of the other higher end devices that emulates ps2 and up doesn’t offer that. Is there a way to download ROMS using the handheld? If it has WiFi I should be able to insert my own sd card and download them directly using the device and not a computer
From reviews I've seen the included ROMs aren't all that great cause some have issues. Also, the microSD card provided is not a premium card. It's best to get your own microSD from a reputable manufacturer and get your own ROMs.
