I’m here shouting nooo don’t scrape all the pudding from the pot lol. That part is for me to scrape. It’s the best part 😂🤣😂😂😂thank u for sharing. Memories.😃
This is similar to “ Indian pudding “ … an early American , New England recipe… very time consuming, with molasses in the recipe, but oh so worth it !! Remember this from my childhood from trips to my mother’s family in Vt. … serve warm with vanilla ice cream !! Yumm !!
Oh my! I was looking for a southern corn pudding recipe and I came across your video. This looks AMAZING. I am going to add this to the next holiday family meal...and watch everybody fight over it LOL
I tried this method and everyone told me it was the best cornmeal pudding they've had. I also added a splash of run, some rough chopped raisins and walnut. *chef's kiss*
Nice recipe! I tried it and the pudding was delish. I did 2 cups cornmeal to 1.5 cup flour and threw in a little grated cassava. Next time, I will half the amount of flour to get a more cornmeal texture. Instead of boiling the cornmeal, I will also just warm the liquid and add the dry mix so it gets a little thick but doesn't require so much stirring! It's tough work to cook on stove because batter is much thicker than porridge.
That was really TEDIOUS 😀.....LOOKS DELICIOUS! So my quick method for years and a big hit with family & friends. Mix the dry ingredients, Blend 2 Coconuts with warm water, add fresh ginger....pour the entire thing into the dry ingredients, add liquid spices, give it a good stirring, add melted butter, pour into a greased pan (make sure the liquid is 3 or four times more than the cornmeal....it will be moist and you will have a Lovely caramelized custard topping. The ginger and fiber from the coconut will give it a nice texture & flavor. Plus healthful benefits.
Ive been looking for sometime, the best way I could make this pudding similarly as my grandmother in Jamaica. Ive tried following to the one from Grace Kitchens and though it came out great, yours seemed easier to follow and the end product was beautiful! It's cooling now and I will be shipping to my dad in Florida for the upcoming Farher's day next weekend. Thanks loads!
Looks delicious. In US I cook for half hr on stove top first then in oven - this method keep pudding moist. In JA the natural coconut milk can do it straight to oven and comes out moist
Thank you i am86 years young I know about cornmeal and potato pudding but never done so I am going to try it and take a slice for my church sister smile😂i will try both ways it look yummy😮 12:07
Lovely! I agree, it's a lot of work, mixing all the ingredients and bake in the oven is less time consuming. I have never done it this way before but to be honest....I'm tempted. Thanks for sharing.
Girl this looks good, never made it like this before, I make mine the other way. I prefer the sweet potatoe pudding though. When I make the slushy top I add a little shredded coconut on the top to make it crunchy. Looks delicious 😋
Thanks for sharing. I literally using your tutorial to make my corn meal cake. You forgot to include the melted butter in the recipe for the soft top mixture but you did mentioned it the video.
That how my godmother use bake the cornmeal pudding trust me it's always delicious she usually sell it at the market I could eat piece now thanks for sharing
I LEARNED A LOT TODAY, I HAVE NEVER HAD CORN MEAL PUDDING.!!! IT LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE SWEET POTATO PUDDING. I JUST LEARNING ABOUT A.FEW MIMUTES AGO. I’m sure you can make it yourself if you try, it’s only because you doubt yourself, however, if you do get it at the Jamaican store I hope it’s nice and fresh and that you don’t get a bad experience because these are delicious
Girl your instructions are on point. My hubby is a lover of cornmeal pudding. I've never gotten it right until i tried your recipe and it's been turning out right. Even though it's a lot of work but it's worth it.
