"I have landing envy" is a thought I never imagined would cross my mind, but here we are. My dream co-op gameplay is being a momma-bird in a Valkyrie...dropping off and picking up the troops, and providing cover fire.
I'm right there with you. My two favorite roles in any op are dropship pilot or flagship pilot. My goal one day is to fly a fully crewed kraken into battle.
@@wednesdaywoeplays This is the reason I’m keeping my Valk in my hanger, I dream of the day. Until then I am happy being the gunship pilot for MedRunner missions, I get to go down, destroy the turrets, let the troops out and fly CAS above the area until the guys secure and revive the client and call for extraction. I don’t get paid for it, but the teamwork and game play is rewarding enough as it is
I have a carrack and a pesci. I solo in it just in case I die. But I havent played recently. Last time I played it was extremely hard to do missions cause persistence was not working correclty. I cant wait to use it for NPC crewed missions.
I honestly didn't know the hanger medical areas were functional... I thought it was only for show and eventually be brought into the game. so cool! nice video.
I forget the details but switching to flight assists off after lining up your landing area then allows to to angle your ship and slow down gradually without changing direction making landings like this look amazing. It still takes skill and practice though! :)
we need a real shuttle, (not the MPUV though) basically a C8 with 2 benches in the back (one on either side) to haul 8 ppl edit: wow that landing at 3:17 was smooth! GJ
The flying/landing-skilIs are awesome. I have done the same thing a few times, with the pisces aswell as an ARGO MPUV personel and Cargo. Really fun. (Althoug I was more of a Taxi than a Dropship. Our first try on dropping into fire ended in the ground)
When you’re in an org with a decent number of active players this sort of gameplay is actually pretty commonplace. If you’re not with an org, GET WITH AN ORG. It changes the game entirely.
Not much incentive to do so. There are no mechanics which you benefit from doing so, also with all the gameplay being pretty much meaningless rn, I feel like more people are bound to play solo, like what do you need to do all this for.
@@NigerianNinja-d6h i would enjoy if the large battles had any meaning and value behind them, and if multicrew wasn’t so bad. Also the one time i played with randoms they were just kinda weird and chronically online
Thumbs up from me, nice coop gameplay despite the usual glitches and fighting SCs numerous bugs. Would be great if there were multi player only missions with high reward to encourage this. Or ones you could participate with npcs, maybe in the future.
The Carrack's guns seem to be completely incapable of killing any of those ground targets. What's that about? They seem to be hitting all around the marker, but never actually kills anything.
I've noticed in my time playing that many ship weapons barely scratch the AI ground targets. not sure if it's just a bug or intentional by the devs tbh you have to get the projectile to hit them dead on to kill, there's no AOE splash damage.
I have Ballistic cannons on the bottom turrets of my carrack as they have explosive AOE for ground. Lasers need to be too precise to effectively do that
Is there anyway we could get a breakdown of your controls and also your stuff for headtracking? Your flying is super smooth so im interested in seeing how you set everything up!! ^^
What do you do for your landing vector? I have gravity assist bound to my landing gear because I don’t like decpld with it on, but it it does get annoying having to have my gear down for the vector to hold
It wasn’t that they weren’t doing damage, it’s that their shots were being interrupted by cover and foliage. Believe me, it only takes one or two shots to actually take out a person with a ship gun. Unfortunately the markers on those enemies don’t show whether they are obstructed or not.
I mean I've been chased by ships on the ground so many times with them flying around me shooting me and barely doing any damage just knocking me over only way to kill me was to land and shoot me on foot or keep running over me
it's very fun but as a "job" (ie a way to make money in an MMO) it's terrible, not specifically this but multicrew and coop in general is terrible, mostly because of how unrewarding the missions are due to the reward getting split; like sure you can do harder missions but those "harder missions" do not give any meaningful reward, for example take the Ghost Hollow mission he did, how many players were there ? 6 ? And how many players are we expected to do this "hard mission" with ? If I remember correctly the contract is about 50K at most, it took you 10-15 mins to do all this in the best conditions possible (same planet you launched it from, not on a moon, crew was ready at the same spaceport waiting..), split the 50K among all the members and everyone got less than 10K, doing 2 VHRTs (or one ERT) you can get more aUECs in a safer and quicker manner and to have the equivalent earning of doing one VHRT group contract which takes less than 10 mins is equivalent to doing about 7 missions like these, assuming nobody dies, no bug happens and you get contracts quickly then that's about an hour to get the earnings of a single group VHRT you can easily do solo in most ships. Obviously don't take it as me saying you shouldn't do multicrew, it's just that it's a damn shame this gameplay loop which is the main appeal of SC and clearly the most fun one is literally the least efficient in every way to play SC "as you're meant to play it" (SC is an MMO so by the way you're meant to play it I mean by trying to earn rep, money, bigger ships and fighting other players in the most efficient way possible) in every conceavable way (time, money, coordination, performance...). I think it is necessary they either increase the rewards substantially on those harder missions or even better is to stop splitting the rewards of the contract between each party member and have everyone earn the money the contract says or maybe have it split less (for example if 2 players are doing a contract then instead of it being 50/50 like it currently is it could be 85/85 or 90/90), this would make coop far more appealing and would open the possibility of just asking people if they want to team up in global. I see ways this could be exploited but I also see the ways to stop said potential exploits from happening. Great video anyway, as a Polaris owner I defintely approve this
We're a bit of a ways from them balancing mission payouts for large scale multicrew or even fleet style gameplay as we technically don't have a lot of it in game. Right now even the "hardest" missions can be done solo if for no other reason, because the npc's are dogtrash. I agree that we need more meaningful rewards or at least larger pay outs for multicrew content as well as...well...propper multicrew content. But we're still looking to get a lot more content, ships, missions, gameloops, etc. Until we get a more solid economy, the devs are more or less using what little economy we have to test new ships and mechanics. it's why salvage was so broken when it came out. I wouldn't expect any real worthwhile multicrew content until we get our first real capitol ships some time after meshing. Til then, putting together stuff like this is more for funzies.
@@GrimGatsby sure we're ways off from a complete rework to multicrew like is needed currently or the creation of an economy but I didn't say it was the immediate solution, in fact I don't even think I suggested this, all I said was that it would be a very simple (at least temporary) fix would be to stop dividing contract rewards and no it would not be OP in any way if they also make it so you can only run one or two contracts at the same time for category X (X being Mercenary or BH). I'm betting it's much much easier to do and also far more necessary than to code in different varieties of space cows or to implement fire mechanics, hell this is not a small indie studio we're talking about here, they can do more than 1 task at a time at least I think

@@apr6337 with respect to the cargo gameplay, I'm looking forward to trying it but I think the major weakness is that they deliver 400 tiny boxes that you then have to load one at a time, and in the bigger hanger size, that's going to take a fucking minute. The loading gameplay could be fun to a logistics nerd like me, but going back and forth loading boxes inefficiently is not it for me. Ideally, you need to be able to specify the box size that you want so larger loads can be delivered in less boxes. Then loading a bigger ship will take a reasonable amount of time.
