Getting parts into the US is one thing, but I can tell you that yikong is in for the laug haul. They are already established in Asia and are slowly getting a fan base in europe. Parts existence is not an issue, just shipping.
@Daywalker_Lee Yeah man, I wish Yikong was more readily available in the US. That said, this is now the 3rd version of this platform. Parts are there, just need to get them into the US.
@garyjordan3121 So true. I think once people have been in the hobby for a bit or not afraid to work on their RC's, they should step out and try new things. Some of these other companies are putting out great products.
Do u no what company supports spare parts for this because this is nice and I seen it only for $100 I'm thinking about pushing the button on this one but I just need to no if they have spare parts and where can we get them from
Got mine last month shipped from china $400 plus shipping, overall was a beefy car, love the way it drive, some of the group member change to thicker center diff fluid, to reduce some torque twist, one of the weak point was the rear sway bar keep popping out after some big jump, they use the sway bar pin/head of whatever the name is from losi Baja ray,
@khairulmuizrahim8418 Congrats on your addition👍 I noticed the torque twist. Wasn't sure if it was after my sway bar came loose or before but good thing I got it on video to see.
Dude. You must have ordered that forever ago. I had my eye on this. 3 month shipping time or $150 plus on shipping to get it here sooner. Glad you pulled the trigger on this one. That rig is SICK!
@hyperc5249 Nah, it didn't take that long but it felt like it😆 Exactly 30 days. Ordered on the 9th of September and received on the 9 of October. Even though the shipping is baked into the price, I only order from the sellers that do it that way on AliExpress.
Finally an English version of an unboxing of this truck I had my eyes on this truck for a while also the king motor citroen c3 But spares availability is always my big question
@django2467 You totally understand my point. I looked everywhere for an english version too😆 Yeah parts is just one of those things this can't be your 1, 2, 3, 4, etc..RC. This is one of those that if you need parts, order them ahead or put it on the shelf and wait for those parts to come in. For me, I got a few I can drive while I wait.
Who you kidding 😂you not going drive enough and hopefully not beat on it because it’s so good looking 👀 an plenty other rcs to beat down instead . I’m going buy a sct today not sure if I want get 4s Mojave or Losi Baja , I’m not going beat on either though because I have plenty arrmas already that will never look this good again . My yard tracks really rough sometimes , man thing does look great . Yea just drive in the park and stuff no need to bash this guy , if we drive rcs way intended parts won’t be a issue , I’ll be checking how much this bad boy is .
And very well known austrian/german distributor already sells this in europe and i can tell you you bought a very well engineered and durable desert truck. You should take a look at the diffs! Everything is soo large. Really impressive!
@AsurasWrath164 I'm very impressed. I'm not a jealous person but it's RC companies like this make wish I lived abroad . You guys get all the cool stuff😊
@@ReadySetRC I get you. On the other hand you have arrma, tlr, losi etc. A lot of HH vehicles are not available in europe, and even if they are available, HH Germany doesn't provide us with the spare parts needed. So you often end up with a HH vehicle you can't run because you have no parts available. And let's be honest, a lot of HH vehicles are cool as hell. So I end up craving for the latest baja rey 2.0 isenhouer which isn't available over here. But oh man, I would love to own one.
@williamperri3437 team Durango is dead since 2015. The redcat mt10e is originally the Team Magic E5. And the discontinued Redcat MT8E BE6s is the original Team Magic E6 III BES. The E6 is now into its 6th gen and still supported by Team Magic. One of my all time favorite hard-core bashers. And the newest e5 ist the e5 4Splus. But beware if you buy the redcat version because they sell a gowngraded version without center diff although you can buy it as option. Other than that and the body it's the same truck, and it's awesome!
These are super cool rigs! I’ve checked into them and for roughly $650 for 6s desert truck isn’t bad at all….my concern is getting parts . I delivery time is almost 3 months for this rig….so if ya break something and have to order from China you’ll have a long wait.
@markcole6475 I'll be honest with you that delivery time is exaggerated. I ordered this truck and it took exactly 30 days. Parts may be the same too. I'm in a little bit of a different situation than most. I have a few RC's to choose from if this ever went down for a 30 days or more. Even though I've hit this off the ramps and that's not how I intend running it, it takes the abuse. If you drive it the way it is intended breaks should be minimum.
Hi ReadySet, this looks lik a really sturdy 7th scale DR. From what you are showing they put a lot into making this vehicle all the bracing on it and the boot on the rear drive shaft.. Excellent video. 👍
@laurens6887 The only one I'm aware of is AliExpress. The sellers change to often to suggest one but I say go with the ones where shipping is included.
I live in San Jose CA, and I've had this truck since the beginning of September. I run this at the same BMX track that Razor RC tests his cars. And I do jump this fairly high... higher than it's designed to do. I do not and will not attempt backflips with it. I've broke nothing so far after about 40 6s packs. This beats BR and UDR all day in terms of durability. I've never owned the SBR so I can't compare. But I've seen plenty of them around and know of their pros and cons. I'd say this in its stock form is a better RTR than the SBR. Mainly because the steering of all those 3 cars need upgrading. This one does not. The TB7 actually does share some parts with the UDR (steering knuckles, trailing arms). Parts support is non existent for this particular truck here in the states. But there are plenty of parts for the DF7 on Amazon. The DF7 has been out longer, so I assume/hope Amazon will eventually have suspension parts for the TB7 in the coming months. Only mod/upgrade I've done is thrown in a Hobbystar 4282 1450kv to run a 15t pinion (cooler temps and it doesn't screech) and a heatsink with 2 fans. I've also cut a channel under the spur gear so rocks won't get stuck. And I've drill two holes in the back of the battery tray so rocks and debris can exit, as well as dremelled out a corner of the battery tray so the battery wires won't get pinched. Aside from the lack of parts support on last issue is the tire size is unique. It's the tallest tire in its style, standing about 10mm taller than UDR and Mojave tires. So if you're dead set on keeping it looking scale in its original form you'll be SOL at least here in the states.
I've had my eye on that exact truck for months now I want one in the worst way I just wish I could order it from somewhere closer and not have to wait 2 months for it... I've seen countless videos and reviews and I want one soooooo bad... glad you got one and are doing a review I can't wait for the driving part of your review I'm curious what your gonna like and dislike about the db7
@ReadySetRC do you have a link to where you purchased it? Or an affiliate link you trust if I order one I'd like to make sure you get a little kick back from it
Never heard of this company until now, being that its Aliexpress, the shipping will probably cost 50% of the total cost of the RC, i do like this RC though. They need a US distributor badly.
@spenn2007 US distributor would be nice. I think the licensing is the issue. Yikong is heavy in the crawler community. I know they've had a few JK's, 2021 Bronco and a FJ, I've had my eyes on for a few years now. They've had some really good releases, this one I could not pass up.
