Fantastic
Listen to the brilliant sampling of this song by Barry Can't Swim called 'Skylab District'
I can't stop listening to this, it's great. I like the Jean Terrell original version (if it was her) but this is fab.
This is a superb song with Elkie nailing every note with the fab funky-disco dance. 5 stars *****
Norman Jay gave me the tip on this....mindblowing
Amazing version 🤩
Heard this for the first time today on COMPASS RADIO while on holiday in NE Lincolnshire, caught Brooks...was expecting Patty, certainly not Elkie! There's still some undiscovered gems out there!!
???????
This is brilliant
What a great song, so up to date, so genius. GP
I love the Samba-sounding piano from 2:23.
A great song!
Classic disco sound
Great track, great voice.
Supreme Funk
How on earth does this only have 440 views as of 24th October 2017? This is a brilliant song!
Are you SERIOUS?!!
Great track, great singer. It doesn't appeal to the older ones.
It's shite that is why
Thought it was Jocelyn Brown when I heard it first - Brillant - Loving Elkie's latest stuff ❤️
Heard it lots just lately.....
Is this a re-recording or a remastering? Somehow it doesn't sound quite like how I remember the original version from Elkie's 1979 album "Live And Learn" (deleted for decades, which may explain the song's unfamiliarity nowadays). My own (audiotape) copy of L&L was eaten by the car stereo ages ago, so I can't check.
This is the original disco tune .. Speed it up with a loud baseline to match it would be a great dance floor track in 2017 :-)
And here is exactly that - a monster...soundcloud.com/chewy-rubs/el-b-rcol-chewy-rubs-future-dub
Fab !!!
OMG.....I have just found this mega tune by Elkie......CLASSIC.....FUNKY......SOUL.....DISCO.....
BBC LONDON Robert Elms show......tune.....
Great track. I have the Jean terrell version which is a much slower jam
It's hard to believe this singer is white ;)
Technology, her voice is black, but her skin is white...
Why?
@@angelladare6811 Because in general Black singers are great , Elkie Brooks has a great voice
@@Jake-oc5xz And there are enough white singers who are great too.
Crapp😢
Mr happy below has probably never even heard of elkie brooks. Dont be like him........lol.
What fantastic lyrics.......not. one of the worst most repetetive songs I've ever had the displeasure to hear.
I cant understand all the 'Great song! comments. .. eh?
Maybe you're too old?
@@toast_not_ghosts152 its a free world- just. If I want to make comments on different versions, I will. So do one- jizophrenic
@@Jake-oc5xz This track is 43 years old, so I don't get your point.
Rubbish
