      there are videos blocked. Mostly those of people who deny the holocaust. But other than that, yes, music isn't blocked in Germany anymore since 2014, when a miracle happened and the GEMA finally gave up (mostly because the record companies forced them too)

    • @eisikater1584
      @eisikater1584 Рік тому

      @@acmenipponair Yes, that applies for "official" music videos, but still people can be blocked or even drawn to court by some copyright or license holders here in Germany, even when some dude with a dashcam has some video on UA-cam while the radio is playing in their car, because that could be "unlicensed broadcasting". It happens less often than it once did because people mute the audio track or do some voice-over while the music is playing.
      edit: Videos with content that's illegal in Germany, mostly about the Nazi era, ARE blocked, but people who want to watch stuff like that use a VPN and mostly don't use UA-cam as their primary source. So that's really not an issue.

    Just to make it clear. If you flee from a prison there won't be charges against you for fleeing. But oc you will get charged when you comitted other crimes while fleeing like blackmailing/taking hostages/murder etc.
    So you cant just kill some guards, walk out, get caught again and they're like "Uh.. he just wanted to be free. Forget about the corpses" :D

    • @Torbian_Linz
      @Torbian_Linz Рік тому +3

      Murder being a very harsh example in this circumstance.
      Destroying things (cell doors, fences...) is still a crime and punishable. Helping a prisoner, or even trying to, escape also is a crime (up to 5 years of prison time). A collective escape attempt by multiple prisoners can be considered a prisoner mutiny and be punished as a crime.
      And while the escape itself is not a crime, very likely it is considered a break of the house rules of the prison and can be disciplined as such. Also an earlier relese is unlikely. Both last points applicable if you get caught, that ist :D
      And while I'm not 100% sure, but I think, your sentence is not lifted, just because, you could flee. So, if you're caught, you still have to serve your sentence.

    • @acmenipponair
      @acmenipponair Рік тому +1

      Also: When you don't flee from prison they normally reduce your sentence to 2/3 of the original judgement. But when you flee the prison, you will sit the whole time in prison and if you are a fleeing murderer, you even might get "Sicherheitsverwahrung" after your 25, because they say that your fleeing proofed that you are a danger to society. And that means prison until death.

    Hey hey IWrocker,
    I just recently start watching your channel, because a friend told me it is good. So i started checking it out, so scrolled out some videos from way back and such. (I'm from the netherlands tho)
    But i've seen most videos comparing USA with different Europe countries, including the dutch and stuff.
    I'm shocked to see that most US education not evolve the rest of the world, as most of Europe are teached fro young age in multi-languages we have to learn (like here, we learn Dutch (ofc) English, French, German as basic) and the schools i went to, i had to learn italian, spanish, and even greek.
    This is only the language package.
    On history, or world knowledge, we have to learn about the europe factor ofcourse. Like you need the learn the US factors.
    But we get the US factors in classes aswell, even all the way to china, and the world figures, what they all did and stand for till the current day!!
    So i dont get it why are the US so involved with theirselfs? And know nothing or so less about the world!
    I travelled alot, been in the US alot aswell, but they seem to know nothing... about the rest of the world... well most of them...
    The first time i met a dear friend of mine (she is born and raised in the US) she was mind blown by the thing we do, and know... Like me being dutch and speak english (maybe not the " perfect" english) but she can clearly understand me....
    So hell ya, i wanted to coment on you're older videos, like recently, but i thought you wouldn't read it, because the videos go way back.

    I think I mentioned it before, it is illegal to stop on the Autobahn in general, other than for a emergency. Running out of fuel is not a emergency, as it can be prevented by the driver before entering the Autobahn. Thus it wins you a ticket if you break down without fuel there.
    As for the condoms... there is not specific law of that kind. The Beatles were messing around setting condoms on fire in their hotel room, causing damage to the room, so they got kicked out. It is illegal to set a condom on fire while someone is still wearing it, though.... :)

Even the car informs the driver quite early that (s)he needs to tank the car by time! ^^+gg To the Coke and Fanta topic: These drinks taste in Germany very different than in the US as they use different type of sugar. In the US it's corn syrup - if I am not mistaken - and in Germany sugar beets, which is btw. healthier as it contains calium, iron and magnesium, too.

    Some videos were blocked in Germany due to legal battles with GEMA, German Society for Musical Performing and Mechanical Reproduction Rights, a government-mandated society that collects fees for public showing/playing of content from singers, musicians and songwriters. If I remember correctly (it’s been some years) it had something to do with GEMA wanting UA-cam to pay fees to show artists’ videos, but YT refused, causing GEMA to block content from being shown on YT.
    Although the society was founded to protect the artists’ rights, artists often found themselves on the downside because they couldn’t show their own content on YT to access a wider audience.

    That video is from 2015 and it shows. It was the same year that UA-cam won their dispute against GEMA in court and a year later, they came to an agreement on copyright charges so #10 is no longer true. That also means that for #18 the amount of renewable energy has more than doubled in the decade since then. Germany might have been a pioneer when it comes to deploying photovoltaic but as a whole, the decarbonisation of the electricity production in both Germany and the USofA actually follows a very similar curve over the last decade, so there is nothing to be jealous of for you. It's a recurring thing I see from US Americans who don't realise just how big the renewable energy efforts in their own country are.

    lots of "semi-true" "facts" in compilations like this ...
    eg running out of fuel on the autobahn is NOT directly illegal (there is no such explicit law), but stopping without good reason is, and since there are enough fuel stations and you can/should always check your fuel in time, "running out of fuel" is no such unexpected emergency, making it "indirectly illegal".

    6:15 The problem is, all bombs with timed fuses, whose fuses were not activated on impact (because they hit soft ground and then settled into the ground with the tip up, so that the acid did not activate the fuse), now and then explode by themselves, because the plastic valve used is crumbling. I can't guarantee the explanation, but that's how I saw and understood it in a documentary. 🙃 A few years ago a bomb had to be blown up in the Wadden Sea off the coast, I lived 2 miles away and got mighty scared by the bang - even though I knew it was happening. 🙈

    yeah the thing about the rulers of different countries being cousins ... it really is not a coincidence... many royal families are related, since back in the days they almost exclusively married other royal families and produced offsprings with them.... today it isn't as strict, but some royals uphold these... 'traditions' ...
    The british royal family for example has german roots ('Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha') and they renamed themself during WWI into 'Windsor', to show they are not affiliated.

    The running out of fuel being illegal should amended by "out of negligence or intent". If you have a broken fuel line, and run out of gas, no prob. It's just that a car running out of fuel often looses a lot of its hydraulic assistents, such as powered steering, hydraulic brakes, etc. Also many cars will loose a lot of their electronic assistents as well, such as ABS, traction or lane control, etc. All of that means that a fast driving vehicle suddenly may become much less safe to drive at those speeds. That's the predominant reason why you shouldn't run out of fuel on the Autobahn.
    Next, gas stations are usually spaced less than 25 km from each other along the Autobahn, either directly as reststops, or shortly after an exit as a so-called Autohof. That means once your warning light for low fuel lights up, you should be able to reach the next gas station easily on the emergency reserve. So running out of fuel in anything but extreme cases is definitely preventable.
    Breaking down definitely is NOT fineable in Germany.
    Edit: Germany's population is now 84 million but mostly due to refugees or immigrants. Germany definitely needs a boost if young families wanting to live, work, and pay taxes here. Our demographic is changing to an aging country but our social systems need a basically Christmas tree shape across all age groups. Many young, and fewer old people. Currently this is shifting higher and higher up, and the number of children is barely sufficient to account for the number of people going into retirement. That's why Germany has been moaning about the Fachkräftemangel, the lack of specialized crafts and trades people for the last two decades at least.
    Edit 2: copyright and blocked UA-cam videos: a) this has already been resolved several years ago; b) nope, what so many people claimed here that it was copyright infringement, not totally correct. In Germany there's a public organization called GEMA, a society that tries to have every creator and author aloft a copyrighted production recieve their legal allotment of their royalties. The GEMA usually settles contracts with any company, TV, radio, or any other media outlet on a small fee to be paid, which is then distributed to the original creator. As UA-cam didn't have any official contracts with their creators paying them directly for their content, the GEMA issued a demand to Google to rectify that situation. As Google didn't want the hassle, they simply blocked any IP addresses from Germany from seeing certain content.
    However, this has been settled at least eight years ago amicably. So there are no blocked videos anymore in Germany on UA-cam unless a content creator specifically demanded such a ban.

    About the jailbreak not being punished: That is technically true, but you are almost always comitting offenses to do it, if nothing else, the damage you do to the prison cell or the locks you break. So while you are not punished for escaping in itself, you will of course be prosecuted for any crimes you commit to break out of jail.

    about the blocking of those vids....just to clear the issue. the one and only reason is country based copyrights. for us labels it is sometimes too complicated to deal with german copyrights and data protection laws, too expensive, so they don't. just like you cannot get US Television here , or technically are prohibited from importing video games from other places, it depends. just get a VPN. easy fix. ;-)

    Well about that Beatles story. It's not all wrong, they got deported and the reason was somehow the lighted condom. But there was no law against lighting condoms. What Paul McCartney and Pete Best nailed that condom onto a wall before lighting it and almost set the whole building on fire that way. This was seen as arson which in deed was prohibited.

    Yes... for example, last Friday they defused one in Offenbach, a few days before that in Hanau, every now and then in in Frankfurt... (these 3 are relatively near eachother -distance wise).
    Now, there have been incidents ever since the end of the war, however, videos like that make it seem like every finding leads to tragedy, when in reality, the process is in place to prevent those.
    Now for ppl in the affected area, it's a huge inconvenience, not denying that. But unless you actually live in Frankfurt or so, you likely go through life without even hearing of a finding in your area.
    If we do live or just work in Frankfurt (for example) we basically just sigh and - at most - check where exactly, in order to see if it'll affect our commute.

    The thing about 1% HIV- immunity is, that they are actually immune to the pest (which ravaged through germany several times and fell together with the 30 year war, a collective trauma to this day). Immunity to the Pest also grants immunity to HIV for some reason.

    • @ZannaBQ
      @ZannaBQ Рік тому

      That's because Yersinia pestis, the bacteria that causes the Black Plague (Pest) and the HI-Virus use the same way to enter the T-cells of the immune system. The bacteria uses the T-cells to travel to the lymph nodes where they then leave the T-cells and infect the lymph nodes directly. The HI-Virus stays in the T-cells and incorporates its own RNA into the cell's DNA.
      Due to the many deaths caused by the Black Plague in the middle Ages most of the people who survived it were immune to Yersinia pestis (and also HIV, even if they didn't know it back then), but because it was so long ago the percentage of immune people has gone down since then. Also it's not just Germany that has some immune people, it's all of Europe. 🙂

    About renewable energy one, sadly, has to state that bio mass is counted as a renewable source of energy in the country. Germany imports most of the bio mass. The problem is that this bio mass consists of shredded forests to an uncertain degree. It is not sufficiently monitored if the forests out of which the bio mass is soruced are managed in a sustainable way.

    The German GEMA is a company that aids artists with asserting copyright claims. While this is great for artists on the one hand, GEMA does control the claims business and will get anyone who infriges the copyright of their signed artists. They lobbied for more rigorous copyright laws. In Germany but also in Europe in general, copyright and privacy laws are very strict. Anyone can report infringements to social or other media. That's why so many videos get banned. Even videos whose publishers own the rights may get banned out of mistake.
