Some Irish and Scots pronunciations are very literal. Kildare is one of them to my knowledge as a Scottish person. But general rule of thumb, if you're unsure on pronunciation ask a Scottish or Irish person. Cause more than likely if you don't ask a native you'll be saying it wrong.
Love seeing more EU4 content! Your point about the achievement not being too hard is poignant. No matter how rough the start is, it's usually possible to go from an OPM to a WC. All that really seems to matter is those first 50 years or so. You can generally be pretty sure by 1500 whether a run is going to snowball or whether you're effed. And even then, what with all the additional internal politics and interactions such as better religious mechanics and estates and missions and whatnot that have been added through the years, a savvy player has far more tools at their disposal to make their country powerful enough to begin the snowball than ever before. I think it's a broader issue with EU4 and the way it's balanced and scaled, and that way that balance and scale really hasn't been maintained through the years, and this isn't really even a complaint about it. I think it's neat that more ostensibly difficult runs are possible these days. Anyway, good luck, and I hope this one is Offaly fun!
It's definitely better, I started playing eu4 a little before Art of War in 2014 and back then whenever you'd have a problem you'd know the 1 or 2 or maybe even 0 ways to solve that problem, today any time I have a problem I knew about 10 things that can help with it, it brings far more strategy in IMO to be able to choose between these and have differing levels of efficiency, if you're even playing for efficiency and not for roleplay or something, which is really what I think should be improved in EU5, we're all meta-slaves, we need some CK3 energy in EU5
@@danielmacpherson8487 I'm still learning the game. Could you provide some examples of a situation that has a bunch of different solutions to choose from? I tend to think too linearly about these things.
Fire isn't bad in early game, just not the stronger with shock. You do 70% damage as fire compared to shock with infantry at game start, and fire phase happens first. So a 6 shock general can be absolutely lethal. But cavalry has zero fire damage, so it is useless for your cavalry.
I feel like for historical role play reasons, you should keep Ireland a Catholic country. But it’s up to you if you want to embrace the Reformation, or already have in your recordings by the time I am typing this
Don't wanna be a back seat. :D If you wanna, build a fort in Ulster, after you take them out, Fort will prevent Scottish troops from running you over while you take care of "little guys" and maybe take some more mercs while fighting Scots, until they go tired of war and white peace them (better if you have ships that can crush all 3 combined navies with the fort in Ulster, you are golden). Also, Pravus, love the new series, keep up the good work! :D AND I KNOW you already filmed a lot of episodes until you read comments and you can take some action.
I always enjoy your videos playing EU4! On that note, a revisit to the Anbennar mod, is highly recommended. So many great events and flavor texts have been added since you last played it (or at least made the series on YT).
Holy Crow!! Literally the first time I've seen Pravus on cam, honestly not what I expected. Didn't have any actual expectations, but caught me by surprise
Adore the EU4 Content :D I often watch these in batches so my view time will come later, but knwo I am super happy more is coming :) Love your work Pravus!
I always use Ireland as my test area when major mechanics change. Haven't played in a while but my strategy was always to conquer all the other Irish minors giving you around 10-12 force limit then wait for England to attack me either by sea crossing or landing from ship and they just wreck themselves over and over until you get enough war score to win. AI never seems to stack enough or limited by transports to win a landing and this in conjunction with war of roses and 100 years war always gives it a chance.
You could've waited a month and then rivaled so that your targets don't choose big allies. And yes they improved the AI. One reason they are not deleting their troops, the other cause you rivaled them from the start.Always remember to cancel military access.
Pravus should have choosen to increase autonomy at the Estates statutory rights event ( 14:15). He only had 1 province and it's his capital, autonomy is always 0% in your capital. Oh well.
Was it a HOI4 mod where you played a viking king of Ireland and were working toward the title of "Blood Eagle"? I'd like you to revisit that if you haven't already!
Any chance of messing around with the resolution of the video? I find the text, numbers etc to be really small and hard to read. Compared to Chewy's videos, yours makes it a lot harder to follow and read what's going on in the game. thaks

Pravus you whip through the menus so fast! I am still trying to learn this game!

In my Spanish Fly achievement run I decided to convert all of the British Isles to Catholic Irish culture for the heck of it.

I can't tell you how many times I tried to get this one... the Irish are outnumbered over a hundred to one, even when Ireland is relativly united!
I always enjoy your videos playing EU4!

EU4 is my favorite series of yours. That's what brought me to the channel, and I eagerly await any new episodes. Good stuff.

Glad to see you playing in Ireland. As a citizen it's nice to see.

As someone living in Britain I have no idea why we haven’t given it back
