Just wanted to share a small quantifiable usage for Ardent: The speed at which you can take objectives, especially with AoE heals/shields. Some team comps will be able to sweep Dragon/Baron/Turrets few seconds faster, if the support has this item and that can help a lot. (One of the few quantifiable situations)

You could spend your gold on Kaenic Rookern which completely shuts down mages you are fighting, making you incredibly tanky, or you could spend your gold on Abyssal mask to be less tanky and worse at dealing with mages, but lets you give your team 9 Magic Pen if you are in melee with who they are fighting.
If your team has a LOT of AP damage then the magic shred makes up for the loss of tankyness, and Abyssal mask might be worth building, but if your team has only one or two mages then you are losing survivability and the ability to completely counter poke to gain nothing.
If your team has 3+ mages you can consistently get into melee with multiple enemies, then Abyssal Mask is pretty good.
If the enemy team has any AP threats whatsoever, you are fighting AP assassins, AP poke, AP burst champs ect, then other MR items have more value.
Even if you have 3+ mages, if the threats on the enemy team are AD, you wont want to build MR in the first place, so getting Unending Despair will make you more tanky, and will even deal more damage in the same situations as the drain from it will outdamage the small ammounts of MR shred from Abyssal.
Another issue is if you have a lot of mages, and are playing a tank, you are probably peeling for them rather than getting next to the high priority targets on the enemy team, making it quite probable that you wont even be reducing the MR of the people the mages are hitting with their spells.
TLDR: Abyssal is way more situational than it looks, and if you could have it a different tank item, its probably worth it to get a different tank item (generally Rookern or Unending Despair, depending on if armour or MR is better against their characters)
Noted that imperial mandate no longer deals damage on applying the mark, only when it is consumed, and it now does 12% current health damage

for bloodsong vs zazak damage a thing to consider is while zazak has a 9-6s cd bloodsong has the normal sheen cd of 1.5cd so on some champions like senna you can keep the expose damage on someone for the entire fight duration
Blodsong dmg taken debuff scales multiplicative with other %dmg increases. (Runes/Liandry/Riftmaker)

Glad I'm not the only one who misunderstood the text for Luden's Companion when I first read it. It seems unbelievably broken when you read the item - adding 240 damage plus 48% AP at the start of a fight, that hits multiple people, and then keeps charging up more, with so-so stats but an incredible recipe. But then you try it out and you realise that the grammar in the description is wrong and it doesn't do what it says in the text.
english is not my first language so i was pretty upset that i misinterpreted the item description like that, hearing that others made the same mistake makes me feel better xd
How does it actually work?
At the part where you go over kaenic rookern. Its actually pretty big. It soft counters on-hit champs because most on-hit damage is magic damage. Frozen heart with rookern actually so hard to eat through as varus
The MS part on lich bane is actually big.
If you combine it with celerity, the movespeed shard, etc, it can really let you dodge more easily and confident.
[2:12:30] I don't understand how he doesn't think of Vayne, Twitch, and Zeri. The champions were literally based around their Ultimates and the activation of one's ultimate makes those Champions who they are. Ashe in a Carry position can buy this while behind to accelerate her fantasy of being a Utility Carry, while Vayne literally becomes Jinx, while dealing 9% Max HP True Damage on Completion (assuming Level 8).
Riven and Pantheon have a-likely-unintended abuse case for Eclipse, Sundered Sky and Black Cleaver. The items all give internal synergy, since the Eclipse Proc give a Shield which protects the heal from Sundered Sky. Black Cleaver is applied by Eclipse, since the five hits includes the Physical Max HP Damage Proc on the way out. The player is also given movement speed on the way out, giving the Shield more value, as it's harder to chew through as Ingenious refreshes the cooldown of the application.

Interesting view on Cryptbloom. I feel like the healing aura is almost never relevant and you much rather have the raw dmg output from 10% more magic pen. Especially because Kaenic Rookern exists. The extra ability haste is nice i guess but do you really need it when you build Cryptbloom as your 4th item?
The healing for cryptbloom is rather significant. Been going seraphs deathcap crypto on certain mages. Disgusting build.

I wonder if a Dawncore rush -> 3x Faerie Charms + Support item build will be effective. Feels like it wouldn't be as strong as just getting it 2nd since it's 2700 gold and items like Moonstone are 2200.
Experimental hexplate is basically a Nocturn item. You buy it first item on ult reliant attack speed junglers because more ults mean more good ganks.
Lol I paused right before LS mentioned Nocturn. Also it may not be a first item, idk.

Why is Hearthbound Axe (@57:15) not good to complete if you're getting 10 AD for 250? That seems very gold efficient when compared to the item that sets AD gold efficiency (longsword, 10 for 350).
So Iceborne and Zac... At first I thought it would be better since you don't need to choose it as a mythic, but it felt super bad on the champions that might have wanted it before but chose different mythics. It actually feels super good on Zac of all characters though, so idk. Also since I main Zac... hollow radiance feels pretty good on Zac only because it lets him one shot waves at some point, the magic resist on it doesn't mean anything. I feel like vs ap just buy kaenic and then go for a better utility build. I have indeed lost games because I built hollow radiance first vs ap. On Zac specifically sunfire has always felt like a fantastic spike, so I'm not sure if I agree with just buying bami and then building something else, but it's definitely something to think about, especially when you do need resistances.
Edit: Also I just thought of something. Electrocute Zac for ingenious hunter, bami (or maybe not with iceborne for waveclear and damage)into kaenic or iceborne. Iceborne with ingenious gives Zac perma stick, which means he can get all his damage off super easily and kaenic is op and with ingenious... After you can get unending despair, spirit visage, liandries or riftmaker (omnivamp works on aoe properly now), Jak'sho, sunfire or hollow, then maybe locket, randuins, I could even see getting stareks gage for the tenacity and shield in case of big lockdown comps (probably still bad though), maybe even warmogs (I'm still never buying but it looks like it performs well)

When you have above 420 (without rabadon or its components) an old raba would give more.
At 420 pre-raba it's the same.
Below 420 pre-raba new one gives more.
So it's buffed in early, while ur on 2nd, 3rd item, roughly equal at 4th item and nerfed when on 5, 6

Not LS missing the fact that Voltaic Cyclosword charges ALL energized effects faster, not just its own lololol. No offense, I get it, it's a weird detail to miss. What it means is if you happen to be mobile and use fleet footwork and like lethality it's a cool item.

LS about Luden's companion its so multifunctional cause technically if u do the stacks every 3 seconds like summoner aery it technically does more dmg so its a burst item but also a poke item.
I could be wrong but did Ls miss this? You would finish sunfire so that you get the 2nd part of the passive right? It ramps up doing extra damage on the burn. Or did he know that and just think its still not worth?
The latter. He says something similar about Bramble vs Thornmail.
I havent run the numbers myself but I doubt he considers the extra 20 or so magic damage per tick before resists that worth it.
Second part of the passive isn't that relevant.
Early game, the raw stats of the item are so bad you won't live long enough to use the passive build up unless it's a tank vs tank match-up. Therefore, it's better to just build bami, take the waveclear, then go to an actual item.
Mid-game, you're still better off with other items because of the cost effectiveness of the item, meaning less tank stats, meaning less chance to survive and use it.
Late game the damage is relevant, but at that point you're just finishing it off because you have to rather than because it's a decent item. Chances are, with all the late game damage, you'll be dead before you make much use of it in a team fight anyway.
It's just a bait.

What about corruption start? Poppy was one of the frontier user of it but with doran items getting stronger it translates to worse laning phase. And then theres the fact that poppy only can realisticly use dshield as an alternative. Hp sustain is about the same but it gets rid of the dmg (pretty significant on poppy laning) and mana sustain. As poppy struggles with mana if not using corruption+mana rune together
malignance is really good on karma and she is also getting buffs to her ap ratios in 14.2

@ls I do have a counterpoint for the catalyst. While I do agree that you're stuck with the item until you finish roa, for champions that actually want the roa, you're not stuck for "that long" while having the sustain. You do only need 1300 gold after catalyst to get roa finished. Roa being 2600 is just an insane early purchase for champs that require it because of the extra level up. If you couple that along with Triple Tonic, for champs that just need it, it's incredible.
BUT I do agree that getting catalyst at 1100 gold would make it into a far better purchase, it would just break for other champs due to the lost chapter vs catalyst buys. Because hopefully riot just makes both items 1100 gold, but we both know they wont really do that. Lol.

Holy shit rejuvenation beed is a blast from the past i remember olaf shen trundle top lane could run the anal beads start and perma stay up because you had insane health regen along with the elixer red pot start
Fun fact guys did you know that top lane would build items like wumongs hydra and sherlias back in the day so the anal beads would give you the most gold into your core items along with gold per 5 philosophers stone it was what i believe was the best time to play lol because of how many different starts you had and they all changed your playstyle pretty drastically early on and people like LS knew how to min max gold based on how many minons you could actually get can you translate the items effectively with proper back timers stuff i never really learned i definitely always miss that aspect to lol these days. Being a boomer has it's benefits my god those we're the days

Bandleglass is almost exclusively built by support who have a pretty full inventory. Combining three items into one is often good just to have space to buy anything.
Your inventory is full if you sit on support item, boots, pink ward and the Bandleglass components. Also since you have little gold, it's better to just combine the item and have slightly more stats that to have a little bit of gold in your inventory that you cannot spend since your inventory is full. Yes in a vacuum that item is bad and it is conceptually bad, but it is better than having your inventory blocked. That is the reason why support items are always built from two epic items and not three like it is common for the other roles.
The problem is most pro players go bandleglass first over the other components. For example, you start support item potion, first back prob boots amp tome, then pro would finish bandleglass rather than going either forbidden idol or ruby/kindlegem though the stats are technically better than combining bandle. Yes, you can do it to save space, but when most players build it, that isn't the reason they do it. Pro supp players also buy like 20 pinks a game for no reason but thats a different problem
Regarding Banshees: 50g for 10AP + 20mr and 30s less cd on the passive doesn't seem bad. You could obviously use the rod to go into a different item, but the stats you get for 50g do seem worth it.
The point is that you're effectively locking that needlessly large rod into a crappy item when you already have the passive. Much better to spec the rod into something more useful/situational. Also depends when you're building it and the item slots you have left.

I think in most cases tankbusting is better than +4% damage
Rift maker is good, but not good in situations where you could build either item, unless you have a lot of health items already or are one of the few hybrid AP/HP drain tanks
AP Chogath converting the extra HP from his ult into damage is good, i'd imagine its pretty good on Swain or Vlad over Liandries

Honestly i feel for Soraka Top Cull start is really good as you are last hitting minions anyways, like here is what it would look like
Cull start into Ionian boots rush > Rod of Ages > Moonstone the rest of the build is up to you but i like depending on situations having Ardent > Redemption > Echoes of Helia. Now the last 3 you could really get any order but if you like Skirmishing and forcing teamfights and such with your roams then you should get Redemption after Moonstone then Echoes of Helia as Echoes is just too good to pass up on Soraka.
Soraka has so much mana regen and CDR now even in early game so her Q cd is around 3 to 2 sec cd in laning phase, so you can just spam it and wave clear even with out much AP at the start. Now if you are against a easy champ for Soraka such as Garen or Darius Top then you can take First Strike Future's market and Treasure Hunter
Now a Korean Diamond Soraka Top main that hit Masters in season 9 with Soraka Top on the Korean Server has told me that Aery, Triple Tonic and Biscuits are the runes, and the major change to the build is Barrier and or Exhaust with your Flash. Here are the full runes Aery, Manaflow, Transcendence, Scorch, Triple tonic, Biscuits while the ability haste shard is always important to get the other two shards will be changing in patch 14.2 and i am thinking +2% ms shard no it is not bonus ms it is +2% ms which is insane, anyways that shard and maybe flat health as the scaling one is shit as 10-180 maybe from levels 1-18 and then maybe 10% tenacity depending on matchup. But the flat health will always probably be the best option especially if you wanna skirmish early on
