We rang them with the door closed I think so I wouldn't have thought to stand and listen from the stairs. Was wondering if your chosen filming location was intentional.
@@tittums It was intentional! Personally I think it's usually a mistake to ring with the door closed. So many really good rings like these don't have very good acoustics - though I've come across much worse.
@@AshleyMonck Have you rung at St David’s to comment? I would like to know seeing as everyone tells me not to write negative comments on bells I haven’t rung on.
@@timmeh1507 behind Yarmouth 30cwt in D ring 12 plus 6b all cast 1930s I think also there's a glorious 6 at Wiggenhall there nice 10cwt in G they were all recast 1952
It's a shame they are very dry in the ringing chamber otherwise these would surely be rated as highly as some of the famous tens by Taylors and Gilletts. They are absolutely glorious in the stairwell though!
A lovely ring of bells, ruined by the concrete floor of the belfry.
I wouldn't say ruined, but yes a lot of the resonance of the bells is taken out in the ringing chamber. In the staircase though... wow!

Sound a lot like St David’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey!
They sound better than St David’s and are slightly deeper than the Abbey
@@AshleyMonck St David’s have more power and hum due to the massive space in the belfry, but these are better.
I suppose they are a similar weight to Tyddewi and in the same key as both. Would definitely return!

The nearest thing to them I've rung at is Victoria Cathedral British Columbia. A semitone lower, but also spoilt by concrete.
Best 10 in Norfolk
They are an excellent ring.

@@timmeh1507 oh and North Elham 8 14cwt in F# there also a 1962 ring
They sound... interesting, like a simulated ring but real. . . I think St Audoen's has a similar problem, maybe concrete is the cause.
