How to knit an I-cord edge

- Hey friends! In this tutorial, I will show you how to knit an I-cord edge on both sides of an asymmetrical shawl. Here's how to work it:
Right side: Knit 3, work in pattern until last 3 sts, slip 3 purlwise with yarn in back.
Wrong side: Purl 3 (pulling yarn snug), work in pattern until last 3 sts, slip 3 purlwise with yarn in front.
And repeat!

Hello Knifty! How do you end this shawl? I get how to start and continue, thru the i-cord edging, increasing to the middle, and then decreasing toward the end. When I got to the end, I had 7 stitches (as per pattern) but can not figure out how to bind off, in i-cord. I reduced to 6 stitches, but I have two live edges instead of one, where I could kitchner then end. Any suggestions? thanks.
Hi! This is a great, clear video. Thanks so much. I'm using this on a blanket, and I end up with a loose loop on both edges every time. I'm wondering if my yarn slips too much or if I'm just doing something wrong. Have you heard of this happening? Thanks!
