Animated adaptations of the EU would have potential for success. Trim out the parts that were a little too "this is so over the top" purely for rule of cool and the stuff that wound up being a contradiction or retcon within the EU itself and you're pretty golden. Starting as low hanging fruit as possible, test the waters with an animated adaptation of Shadows of the Empire, then Kyle Katarn's story across Dark Forces games/books.

Lucasfilm has to choose: keep the "sequels" and let Star Wars remain dead, or dump the "sequels" and revive the most important film franchise of all time. Yes, ahead of even the MCU. Star Wars was the blueprint for all of modern Hollywood, while the MCU's cinematic universe was almost impossible to replicate, except for the Monsterverse, oddly enough.

Yup. The family were the main characters. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed plenty of other stories outside this saga like KOTOR but I was invested in Luke's story after ROTJ. And they botched it.

As long as the sequels are canon and Rey gets to build the jedi order it really doesn’t matter what they do with Luke they completely destroyed his character at this point and anything they choose to do with him in the future is moot.

I do not care that much about returning to the Skywalker story. Disney has burned bridges, and it will take more than dangling Luke to bring me back around. Most important for me is KK must be fired! Restitution for Gina, and No more agenda DEI crap. I’m done with that garbage. These are all of much higher importance than Luke.

I've curiously noticed some current Star Wars promo with Oreo. It's light side versus dark side, and the only characters in the visuals are Luke and Vader. Granted, a small tie-in. But, the exact opposite of the "Rey is the heart of Star Wars" bullshit.

CG Luke needs to wake up from a" bad dream" that is DSW. All stories removed from canon. As for KK: I have disappointed you. It is my fault. I was a fan for 47 years but stopped watching KK led DSW because I believe the Force is the Force and it is not female. That, and the firing of Gina caused me to turn my back on DSW. So, KK blame me as I am not blindly loyal to a brand and instead expect entertainment for my time, not lectures and misandry

Go back to the EU. Courtship of Leia and truce at bakura. Or the Jedi academy time. Nothing new will ever be good. Anything Disney has done is pure trash. Try to alternate universe it all
Animated adaptations of the EU would have potential for success.
Trim out the parts that were a little too "this is so over the top" purely for rule of cool and the stuff that wound up being a contradiction or retcon within the EU itself and you're pretty golden.
Starting as low hanging fruit as possible, test the waters with an animated adaptation of Shadows of the Empire, then Kyle Katarn's story across Dark Forces games/books.

You need to know more about the galaxy to really get into them, and well... the books I mentioned had Leia and other female leads. So that whoever replaces Kennedy can at least throw a bone to the 'force is female' crowd... and maybe learn how to do strong women right.

If the current ilk of writers are forced to write Luke Skywalker into new shows/movies, they will vandalize the character and put him in the poorest light possible in order to prop up Rey and/or Ahsoka.
Pandering just makes the problem worse.
