Thanks! I've heard about the citrus cleaners, but I use highly pure alcohol because the bearings I use actually recommend it. WD-40 is not a "true" lubricant, but will work for short term uses. I will look into these lubricants. though. This is what I do, not the "proper" way of cleaning. = )
Heyy dude, if you want CLEAN grip tape, just get a brush which you would probably use to wash dishes and use warm soapy water to clean deep into the grip, this always works for me :)
If you want less resistance go for a full synthetic 5w-20. Between the two it doesn't really matter though, they're both excellent. Better than Speed Cream.
For the griptape, you could get those bars of rubber that are made for cleaning griptape, I believe they're called Grip-gum? I dont remember but they will make ur griptape feel like its literal tape..
Just a heads up man, you're using really heavy chemicals on those bearings! I would suggest soaking them in "Awesome Orange" or some other Orange cleaner. Then lube with Bones speed cream OR sewing machine oil. WD-40 and rubbing alcohol degrades bearings thus causing wobbles and looseness! I've had it happen before.
I like the cleaning, but I disagree with the lubrication. WD40 might be good enough for everything else, but not those bearings. Think about the continuos speed, heat, and pressure.... Thumbs up regardless
I know plus the lubracints you're supposed to use are much thinner, I have a trumpet so I use my valve oil as lubracint and it works great on my longboard bearings.
use grease not wd40 if you use wd40 the balls on the inside of the bearing will rub against the runner (inner metal piece of bearing) over a short period of time your bearing will wear out and eventually blowing and needing to be replaced rather much faster
Yeah there are a number of things wrong with this. I made this when I first started boarding so I had less experience with the chemistry of the cleaner on the bearings etc.

Nice vid man, just a quick question. Don't you need to put new oil at the end of the trucks? You cleaned them so I suppose it's all gone?
Interesting. I’ll have to try the variable wrench, I always just used a socket wrench because it was so much easier
an old tooth brush or scrub brush and glass cleaner works really well to clean grip tape since it’s made of glass shards

You don't want to get water on your board because some grip tapes have holes to prevent air bubbles and can damage the wood
U cant use water you'll damage the drop tape actually instead get a brush specifically for grip tape.
they make this rubber stick thats used to clean belts for power sanders. works well for grip tape
bro u can even use motor oil the 15w 30 it works perfectly and go really fast

Don't use WD40. It doesn't work. Look at the Braille Skateboarding tutorial or the Rat Vision tutorial. (much better)
+Indigo Funk I agree
How about 3 in 1? Is it better than WD40? Or dry bike chain grease? Those are all I have.
@@caladair2087 3 in 1 works
@@edenhazard7597 where do I get this 3 in 1

How often should you clean everything if you skate daily?

WD-40 and rubbing alcohol degrades bearings thus causing wobbles and looseness! I've had it happen before.
Dry the deck with paper towels or a blow dryer because water in the board make the board weaker which makes it snap easier
Careful with Window cleaner. It can seep through your griptape, screw up the ashesive under the grip tape. And ruin the structure of the wood board.
I like the cleaning, but I disagree with the lubrication.

To all of you who like wd40 !
It's a degreaser not a lubricant!!
I know plus the lubracints you're supposed to use are much thinner, I have a trumpet so I use my valve oil as lubracint and it works great on my longboard bearings.
If u use a rubber block for a belt sander it will clean the grip tape
O: I have the same longboard
I wish I could see how murky that is 😂
Exact same task & exact same board.
My bearing is not coming out it's totally disgusting
use grease not wd40 if you use wd40 the balls on the inside of the bearing will rub against the runner (inner metal piece of bearing) over a short period of time your bearing will wear out and eventually blowing and needing to be replaced rather much faster
thanks bro
Cool
THANK U

WD-40 is not good for your bearings
Do not use WD 40!
Cleaning the bearings with the shields on is pretty pointless.
Yeah there are a number of things wrong with this. I made this when I first started boarding so I had less experience with the chemistry of the cleaner on the bearings etc.
Duuuuuuuude bruh, do NOT use WD40 on your shit. Just BONES Speed Cream, an actual proper lubricant and just for this! Don't ruin your shit fam
