Thanks man. One of my bearings was shot and I say there with a pocket knife trying to get under it and pry up. Took a few chips out of it until I gave up and decided to look it up. Really easy and fast. Recommending you to my friends and family.
Is it okay to not use spacers or speed rings on a Stereo Vinyl Cruiser? I lost a few of the speed rings and the person that taught me how to change bearings said spacers aren't necessary. Is it okay if there is some space allowing the wheel to move back and forth? Greatvideo btw.
I recently got sand in all my bearings, like the wheels won't spin at all, and I have none of the necessary items to clean it out, should I still try or just get new bearings?
Thanks for the vid, just gotta new board but I had an old one I wanted to get bearings for cause they were shot. But I practically stole my new board from a fiend for 50$,(it still had the price tag of 250$) so I asked for some bearings for my birthday (today) and my mom got me some Bones redz. So after watching this video I now have my old board running like new, and my new one running even better than new! (I had no idea it was this easy!) thanks again!
You can ride without spacers, and it won't be too terrible, but if you can I would recommend picking up a set. Same with speed rings, they will just help you tighten your wheels properly and yet still give you good spin. Spacers can also help extend the life of your bearings. Especially if you don't have either of these you will need to leave the wheel a little loose so that it can spin. The looser it is, however, the more wobbly the board will be at high speeds.
It depends on how you will be riding. My friend has a similar dropdeck, and it's pretty good for cruising and casual riding, as well as downhill, but the deep drop can be a little weird to get used to.
It would probably do alright. Have you ever ridden a skateboard or anything similar before? There is a slight learning curve when first starting out on a longboard. I got a really crappy one to start out with, because it got pretty banged up. After I had some time to adjust I upgraded. It's all about what you are comfortable with.
yeah i have a decent amount of skateboarding experience and i'm a good snowboarder. I have been looking into longboards because I love snowboarding and longboarding looks similar. I live in australia so i'm not able to snowboard. I have also been looking into the switchblade which looks very good aswell (I like the switch blade because of the top mount or drop through option). What are your thoughts :)
My board is similar in shape to the switchblade (less of a drop down than the switch), and I personally really enjoy it. It's pretty good for all around riding. Since you have experience, buying a nice longboard should work out well. Just remember that the deeper the drop, the more you might be limited. Beyond that, pick whichever one you like!
I'm honestly not an expert on cleaning bearings, but I use denatured alcohol with this kit: www.amazon.com/Bones-Wheels-Bearings-DECK-Cleaning/dp/B004D2O3PO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404607178&sr=8-3&keywords=bones+bearing+cleaning+kit

I'm glad it helped! I struggled with it for a bit, so when I figured out this trick I knew I had to share it out.
I've watched like 15 videos on how to get my bearings off and this is the only one that helped
Very nice! It's really amazing how big of a difference new bearings can make in a board.

Use aftershave and water to soak the bearings in, it worked out for me really good!
aceton and water works best, but if you have a nylon seal then I wouldn't recommend it.
Can this damage the axle threads?
Thank you so much! I was struggling a lot trying to get these bearings out of my longboard wheels!

do you think it that it has something to do with the trucks?

what tool(s) did you use? specifics please
He said that in the video
I guess it could be, but that shouldn't affect anything. What kind of trucks do you have?
What are you using to remove them?
was thinking of getting the landyachtz switch for my first board. what do you think?
It depends on how you will be riding. My friend has a similar dropdeck, and it's pretty good for cruising and casual riding, as well as downhill, but the deep drop can be a little weird to get used to.
I will be mostly cruising/ sliding, carving and maybe when i get better downhill. do you think landyachtz switch is a good frist board?
