Wow! You really were doing a Nicola: skipping, going off course for a swing in a hammock, wandering around, gushing enthusiasm with not a care for your speed or time... Your really did get across how much of an incredible place this is for a parkrun. I hope to make it there one day. Thank you for the video, I loved it.
I am in the video !!! I ran it aged 59 last month and wrote this poem "Durlston Country Park Parkrun Some Parkruns are flat, fast and furious, The ‘once around the Poole Lake’ is a lark; And others are “OMG” it’s hilly! Then what ‘goes down’ then must come up sadly... So it’s a hard climb back up to the top; Then along the cliffs towards Swanage, But after the climb back up, you don’t stop! For it’s another “right” down the cliff path, Oh no! Where’s my vigour and vim?; For a second trip to the shut quarry, Locally known as the caves, Tilly Whim. Back up?, “Yes”, then down again to Swanage, No time for a swift pint in the pub; Then back up the hill, which now seems steeper! Lured by cakes, (Platinum Jubilee grub). Why would anyone endure such torture!!!!??? It’s the World Heritage Jurassic Coast; Crashing waves, drystone walls, purple orchids, To Durlston Country Park I raise a toast! James S. Fuller 4.6.22 said I'd never run it again....then ran it my first aged 60 and got a pb 27.47 after a night camping in the Purbecks and drinking to celebrate being 60!!!!!!!!
I was glued to this oine after hearing the story about the drone's adventures on the blog. But my goodness, how beautiful, sorry, brutiful, does this parkrun look! Totally absolutely want to do this.
I go to Swanage every year and always wished for a parkrun nearby. I love Durlston and I am so looking forward to running this parkrun later this year. This video made me so happy to see how much of an effect it had on Danny. I enjoyed the whole video.
Wow! It looks to me to be a mashup of some of my favourite places here in Ireland - Killiney hill, the Rock of Cashel & Bere island. Your video really does convey how ridiculously attractive Durlston country park parkrun is. It even took your drone’s breath away 😅. 👏👏👏
We never knew this existed until your Vlog. We visit Dorset multiple times per year and thought we had the Dor-set. You've elevated our forthcoming holiday with this video.
I love this parkrun, and your video has absolutely captured how beautiful and challenging Durlston is! I did it a few weeks after you on one of the hottest days of the year, then went and jumped in the sea 😄
Wow. I’ve got behind with my vlog watching and this is the first I’ve watched with the drone footage (and almost the drone’s last!). Just amazing. I’ll have to catch up on the others. I have time now that Covid has caught up with me. 🤣 What a stunning parkrun.
I loved this video especially then end bit (nice George Michael beard BTW) - the clues were there how windy it was from the start but I guess its a lesson learned - go see the Eden Project parkrun - that is also hilly and amazing - thanks for sharing.
Swanage is a beautiful place. Will have to try to visit this one when I can run properly again (although it doesn't look like running is much of an option!) - wonderful video.
Wow - I NEED to visit this parkrun as it looks absolutely stunning. Shame about all the drone drama but thankfully you got the footage & the amazing story to accompany it 💛
We come to Swanage every year and were happy to learn of the Durlston parkrun, a great course and cafe! Do you guys have any plans to visit my home parkrun in Witney? (Oxfordshire)
Well done video man 😂 I don’t think I have seen you so excited and happy about a parkrun location but I can totally see why!! It is a stunning definitely going to visit in the summer holidays with the smol Gently’s
Wow! What a parkrun! The joy and sense of the place come across so well in your video, and the views… incredible. This one is now on our list too! I really enjoy the pieces to camera and the voiceovers, but the most powerful moments this week were the quiet ones, where you just let the venue ‘speak’ for itself. Thanks for your work on this one, and glad you’ve got the drone back. Thanks for taking my email in the spirit intended too 😁
Wonderful, can't be any doubt about how tough it is after seeing this vlog. I'm always amazed at the drone footage but am hoping the dramatic end is a one off. Fantastic that the DCP team 💛 and Will 💛 helped find and return the drone. 💛
Will always be one of my favourite parkruns - so glad you enjoyed it. Seeing where the drone ended up makes me even more grateful you called it quits when you did and impressed by fisherman Will's tenacity to get it back for you! What a blessing!
Awesome awesome vlog of a simply stunning parkrun location. I grew up nearby and visited Durlston many times as a child…you captured it so well. Thank you.
Exceptional Danny, your best vlog yet! I plan to go there this year, but now I'm even more excited to make the journey. The event there has everything you could hope for in a parkrun. Bravo 👏👏👏
Wow! Wow! Wow! And wow again! That looks fabulous. I know Purbeck, but I haven't been that far west since I became aware of parkrun. I must try that circuit soon. And visit a favourite pub or five on the way home. Great production, by the way. Well done.
Great Vlog as always danny - watching the last moments of the drone flight , I am sure i can see someone on the beach watching the drone crash into the bushes , is that you ?
Oh wow, oh wow. Got to go there, got to do this parkrun! You've captured it beautifully, brilliant swooping drone shots, plus the inclines. Well done to the drone finder, amazing it was found, hope it's still in full working order. x
@@WithMeNow finally got there this morning, NYE. Atrocious weather but was still a most enjoyable parkrun experience, and the friendliest volunteers welcoming visitors

Thanks Abigail!

You’ll love it Nicola! 💛
I think someone in Edinburgh saw this and decided to start an Arthur's seat park run. Now that is the most beautiful Park run in the world.
I’ll have to pop along and see! 😊
Brutiful! Appreciated the reduction in gesticulating... lol!
🤨
What a place, just has to be seen to be believed.
100% agree
Whoop whoop! Chessington Unity!!! 😁
Whoop!
Did anyone tell you to 'fika' off when you booped them with that finger?
Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall also qualifies as a brutiful location
Sadly they didn’t! 😂
I tail walked this and it`s sooooo hard!
I concur!
Queen Elizabeth country park has a killer hill 😅
It does indeed!
Very dramatic conclusion!
I needed a Drama Squirrel clip.
