This is something I've found odd in the west, those supporting Hamas portray it as Hamas being the "victims", yet how many of them have "safe rooms"? Yet so many kibutz have them right by children's playgrounds even to try and save lives. Imagine that every day, kids growing up having to hide from rockets! As you say, they deserve to live in peace.
If they want to live in peace all they have to do is to go back to their countrieS ( mainly in eastern Europe and North America).

Interesting view into Israel. I'm half Jewish. I'm from NYC. So often I wonder how Jewish people can live in a place so dangerous. Where people want to blow you up, stab you, etc. Not just criminals, but a whole place, a whole people. A whole terrorist gang like Hamas. What struck me while listening to the stories of what happened, is that everyone has a 'safe' room. I find that sad and terrifying. I am feeling your pain in Israel. It is what Sept 11, 2001 felt like. Wishing you all the most healing. Wishing for peace.

After ww2 there were several locations being discussed to build a Jewish homeland. I think one was in the Baltic region, one was somewhere in Africa and then there's this. I always wondered why they chose Israel as we know it today. It's the ancestral homeland I guess. They wanted nothing to do with Europe. Fair point. Africa... Well. Every time Israel is in the news I wonder if they ever regretted settling there.
Jewish people have been persecuted for centuries if not millenia all around the world. But it's only dawned on me now why having their own, independent nation is such a big deal for them.

When one of us suffers on this planet we all suffer. There is no clear answer for what this situation will bring but at the depth of my soul I know that something positive will emerge. Life after terror appears to bombing Gaza daily and murdering 11,000 people. While what Hamas did was wrong, Israel is doing things ten times worse. None of you people will acknowledge the murder that is happening in Gaza daily. You write about positivity and energy but none of you have the ethics to even answer my questions. For 9 months about 200 000 people protested every week. It is like 13 millions of protesters in the States. Before 7/10 the polls gave the coalition only 30 % of voters.

I guess, in many ways, despite being a strong proponent of "capitalism", I have equally been a "left winger" who has a deep care for humanity, our planet and our universe even. In my younger years, I seriously considered making aliyah and trying to join a kibbutz in the south somewhere. I loved the ideals. I loved the history, the people, their care and thoughts. I loved their cleverness in agriculture and with life in general. I too thought it could maybe bring peace, that maybe if everyone had a "seat at the table" and an equitable outcome, maybe long lasting peace could be obtained. But now, I've grown a little older, and I'm starting to be of the opinion that some individuals are simply evil. There is simply no "saving" them. They will kill. They will murder. They'll commit every evil under the sun and we can't continually make excuses and "justify" their cruelty. And we can't sit in silence on it all. We have to make a stand, for love, for peace, for war, for hate of all that is evil. We have to be upright and a light in the darkness. Lots to question and not enough answers.
Nobody is prepared for deceit and definitely not on the Sabbath. Unless there were lookout posts along the borders to watch Gaza, no one expected October7…Israel knows now and all security will be changed so it never happens again.

I sincerely can't understand how Noy is more concerned about the Gazans than his own people who were brutally massacred. Most of the soldiers were busy in the West Bank supporting the illegal settlers.
They purposefully chose double Jewish holiday of Shabbat AND Sukkot so that soldiers would not be on alert or at work. Israelis wanted to believe that Hamas was like them - wanting peace- and would not invade. They were too optimistic and were unprepared.
At the end of the day, what will do us humans in is the unabashed habit of generalizing: all Jews this, all Arabs that, all zionists the other thing, etc.. when I was growing up, one of the major lessons I experienced was that one should not generalize. Never .

They chose not to listen to any intelligence warning them of this attack for a year. The US even had intelligence and so did Egypt. They were warned of unusual Hamas activity at the border the night before and chose not to put them on high alert. This is a complete failure from the Israeli leaders behalf. They even knew they were training with paragliders too and did nothing.

Considering Israel is a democracy and has many voices and opinions, this film shows not even one person who sees things from the Israeli right. The overwhelming sadness people feel is because the massacer buthchered the chance for peace. People for decades hoped that some territorial adjustments and better conditions will bring peace. Now they know that way too many Palestinians simply want Israel itself and all its people gone. Hamas murdered hope.
This is such nonsense. I'm sorry these people went through a terrifying experience... but Palestinians in occupied Gaza and the West Bank and East Jerusalem go through it everyday. They are effectively under martial law and idf can 'arrest' and abduct children without even giving a reason. Soldiers can barge into your home, sleep in your bed and hold you hostage. They imprison people without charges, without trials. Have you wondered why there are 150 "prisoners" to exchange for 50 hostages? Why do we never hear about them? Have you seen these "prisoners" being released? They are just kids, ripped away from their parents for their most formative, prime years. If you had an ounce of humanity, your heart would break for them and their plight. Territorial 'adjustments' and better living conditions? With a complete blockade and constant terror? The informatiom is out there is you're willing to see. Israel has killed more than 15,000 people in 50 days in Gaza, most of them women and children, ALL of them civilians. With the best high-tech military equipment and advanced weaponry, idf is grossly incompetent at best... and genocidal at worst.
