- Sarit Kurtzman lives with her husband and 14-month-old daughter on Kibbutz Alumim, just four kilometers from the Gaza border. While they're used to the sounds of rockets, planes, and tanks, the sounds they heard on October 7th were unlike anything they'd heard before.
For 26 hours, they hid in their safe room as terrorists infiltrated their Kibbutz and wreaked havoc on all that they knew.
Sarit tells her brave and miraculous story of survival with tremendous strength and faith.

Sadly, this issue is not about anti-semitism - that’s a projection of our western ideas. The real issue is that many lives (Israeli and Palestinian) are becoming casualties to Israel’s second class treatment of their indigenous neighbours.

The biggest problem that each of us will face very soon is the increase in natural disasters. We are entering an era of huge disasters of enormous power and scale. Compared to this, all the other problems will seem a little trifle. If we do nothing now, in 5-7 years it will be impossible to live on the planet.
There is a solution and a way out, but we need to take action. Only when billions speak out, will scientists, presidents and the media hear us.

Very sad for those less fortunate Thai workers. When I was in Thailand I found the Thai to be gentle people. The Thai are also well acquainted with terrorism. You were amazingly spared the horror.
What a strong woman. She doesn't cry because she refused to be a victim. She is a fighter.She is smiling and using the words "norman" and "he is ok now", but it's really not normal for other countries, constant missle attack and sirens in your home town is not normal. To be attacked and to be shot in your home,in your country is not ok. It's the Israeli reality that the world doesn't undertand. The entire Israeli story is constant resistance to enemies, and the enemies have only one goal: the extermination of the Jewish people by any means, including all the sacrifising

@@dannyjones4044 they did and were in the shelter when attacked. That area is where the terrorists came into the kibbutz and were the first to be attacked. That is why, heartbreakingly.

The entire experience was horrible. As a Jewish American its very hard to even comprehend the actions of those crazy men. Sending you spiritual support and prayers. I lived for 4 years in Nachal Oz right next door. Both put up quite a fight but Alumin had greater success in defending the Kibbutz. No residents lost is incredible that close to the border. All the folks that live in this area are incredibly intelligent patriots who really made a garden out of what was nothing in 1948. You don't have to lock your doors and everyone knows everybody. That is a remarkable woman - a great lady.

The most heart warming part of this lady’s recounting of the events was the soldiers (who chose to remain anonymous) who without being asked watered the kibbutz’s trees to prevent further losses while the members were forced to seek refuge in Netanya . That’s called אנאבל חינם .

What a beautiful woman and truly gifted spokeswoman for Israel. What a beautiful name Sarit. I have learned so much about the Jewish people resilience through this horrific event. I have not heard one person chant death to Palestine. I have heard the horror stories and Israel is a nation in mourning. But they are not seeking revenge, they fight to defend their way of life and their land. Their war is about survival. Hamas and Palestine their war is one of hate, of wanting to wipe Israel and the Jewish people off the face of the earth. Theirs is one of revenge. This is what happens when you believe you are the victim. These people Hamas, Palestine, Gaza, are all the same they are not the victim but the villains! Good will overcome evil.
G-D is love and as deeply as G-D loves us, Devil is pure hate, and now we have seen what the devils hate looks like. Make no mistake this is a spiritual war being, good vs evil, kingdom vs. kingdom.

Thank you for interviewing her. Exceptionally moving hearing such clarity of what she experienced first hand and how miraculous it was in the way things unfolded in the religious community. Her beauty comes from within because of her faith she embodies hope for brighter days ahead. Often she hides the shock and pain with flashes of her smile as she’s recounting what she witnessed knowing so many others were not as fortunate yet she shared the truth for others to have understanding. Sadly many secular individuals were not as fortunate during the attacks and it was nice to hear of at least one community who recognized Hashem’s protection over them during the attack, because I’ve been wondering if there were any such stories. This is the first interview I’ve came across like this. One of praise during the unimaginable moments that cane against Israel. Gods Blessings 🙏🏼

As a teenager in 1985, I spent a Summer working on Kibbutz Alumim. As a result, it always has a very special place in my heart. ❤️
Some of the areas in the Kibbutz Suri mentions, are familiar to me and I can vividly picture them in my mind’s eye as she’s relating the story of what happened.
